The whole process of booking the apartment and contact with the owner was perfect. The apartment is as advertised it needs some minor DIY to remedy some minor faults but nothing major that affected our stay. The location is central and ideal but as previously mentioned by other guests it can get noisy at night
Szilvi was brilliant picked us up at the airport and told us about all the places to go. All in all a great break in a wonderful city Thank you
Older apartment in excellent location. Air conditioning needed.
This was a lovely older apartment in an excellent location. The apartment was very clean and spacious. The kitchen well-equipped. We do have some caveats below.
Location was excellent. You are near the old Jewish Quarter and within walking distance of many fine buildings. (We took an electric bike tour -- highly recommended -- to get an overview of this large city.) The apartment is also within walking distance of the famous 'ruin bars.' Around the corner were excellent restaurants.
Our only issue with the apartment was the heat. It was over 90f (32c) during our stay. The building does stay cool and the apartment was designed to create a nice breeze when the windows are open. However, the street below was noisy until 4 or 5 am. Not a bad street scene, friendly, but the noise echoed up to the apartment. The windows kept the noise out when closed, but it was too hot to keep them closed when sleeping, even with the fans on.
Except for the heat we would have given this apartment five stars. It really did give a nice feel for Budapest and the hosts were gracious.
Spacious apartment in great location
- spacious, lots of natural light
- great location, near metro/tram and lots of bars and restaurants
- very friendly welcome from Niki and her mum :)
- cooking & washing facilities
- two showers, two toilets
- beautiful apartment building
- on 3rd floor (4th if you're American) and no lift
- noise from street at night if you have front windows open
- very hot in the summer, no air-con
Beautiful historic apartment in a great location.
We absolutely loved this apartment. It was historically beautiful and I wanted to know more about the history of the building. There was plenty of room, the kitchen was fully equipped and perfect for the four of us. My husband and I were able to sit out on the inside courtyard balcony and enjoy a beer, while our kids slept inside. The communication with Fiorella and Niki was prompt and they were so friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, we were staying in Budapest on probably the two hottest days of the year and had to keep our windows open. So the bar downstairs kept us and our kids awake. The only reason we gave this four and not five stars was because we were in desperate need of a washer and it was not working during our stay. I had to spend about two hours one morning at a laundromat rather than out sight seeing. Other than that, it was a fabulous apartment and we had wonderful hosts. We would definitely stay again.
A taste of old elegance
Beautiful old building with really high ceilings and several french doors in apartment. The location is ideal with stores, bakery, ice cream, restaurants, public transportation and Opera House within short walk. Our driver, Sylvia, checked us in and gave us lots of great tips and personal attention - great communication throughout booking process and stay. No AC but fans were very helpful. Be prepared for long walk up 4 flights with your luggage, but once you get there you'll be pleased! Drip coffeemaker not available for our stay but was told it would be replaced. Helpful to have washing machine, hang clothes to dry.
Hey! We have had lovely days in Budapest! The apartment worked well and was centrally located. We have gone hop on hop off bus on the Danube, bathed in thermal baths and taken the train to Szentendre. Wonderful little town. The weather was warm and sunny until the last day when we were going home. Yours sincerely Annika
Kiraly street is parallel to Andrassy ut, the most famous avenue in the city, along which runs one of the subway lines. The closest stop is Opera, but five minutes walk is the Deak square station where three lines intersect. A few blocks away is the hub Oktogon, where many bus and trams go through.
Budapest is a city that can be easily visited on foot, strolling through its elegant streets. The main attractions are within walking distance from the apartment, but you can also rent bicycles in front of the building (a cheaper place is in the nearby Wesseleny street) because the network of bicycle paths is wide and allows a full and enjoyable visit.
You can not leave Budapest without visiting its splendid baths: the closest and easy to reach is Széchenyi, a few subway stations away. To young people we suggest to visit the place front door, Siraly, crowded by students and young artists and musicians, as well as the popular mensa Frici Papa, little later on the pavement opposite. For a more demanding people, there are plenty of elegant and/or trendy bars and restaurants : the pedestrian Listz square, a block away, is an uninterrupted line of bars and restaurants, suited for most tastes.
On the square there is also a Tourist Office where you get the programme of cultural events, shows and exhibitions.
The minimum stay required is three days. Please advise in advance by communicating the details and time of arrival.
Price is for 2 people and will be increased by 10 euros per day for each person.
