Alta Vista is set high on 3 acres of hillside overlooking an unspoilt valley with uninterrupted, breathtaking views south and west to the distant hills. The main house is of a standard expected of a second home rather than a rental property. There is a separate independent Casita 50ms away from the main house and this is available for rent as extra accommodation if needed. The Casita is NEVER rented independently of the main house, thus you NEVER have to share the pool. There is 50m2 of terracing: a shaded terrace along the front of the building with lights for evening dining or reading, a BBQ terrace at the side and a large terrace around the pool. Steps lead to the 8m x 4m private pool. All areas have good quality teak furniture. The skyscapes and sunsets, the changing light and shadows on the rolling hillsides, and the sound of bells tinkling as the goats pass through the valley provide a tranquil and captivating background as you relax outside, or in the pool. Keep an eye out for eagles circling above. After watching the sun set behind the distant hills, stargaze under the vast open sky and consider the many ways you too can enjoy the Andalucian experience tomorrow.

Information pack: An information pack will be provided. It includes user guides for the electrical equipment; useful and emergency telephone numbers; information about the best bars, restaurants, shopping and activities in the area.

Wi-Fi internet acces and computer in the salon.

The perfect villa

Simply put the nicest, best equipped villa we have stayed in Andalucia. The photos do not do justice to the view from the terrace at night.

As with a lot of villa's you do need to be prepared for an interesting drive if you are more used to suburban roads but it is definitely worth it. The directions provided were also excellent so made the drive from Cadiz a breeze. I would recommend planning to arrive during daylight if possible.

The owners of the villa have thought of everything you would need for comfort during your stay. The villa is by far the best equipped we have stayed at and the pool and garden are immaculate. It was absolutely spotless as well.

If you like to cook there is a beautiful kitchen and every appliance you could ask for as well as a bbq. The second large fridge in the utility room means you can stock up and shut yourself away from the world for days if you choose to.

We enjoyed the peace and tranquility for a week but the villa is in easy reach of the regions attractions. It is only a short drive to El Torcal which is spectacular and Granada, Ronda, Córdoba are all reachable by car (though the train from Antequerra would be my recommenced form of transport)We'd recommend not overlooking the historic centre of Malaga and the botanical gardens. Antequera is lovely too. They both have the advantage of being closer as well.

We definitely recommend the property to friends and families and would like to come back!

Une très joile maison

Une merveilleuse semaine dans un très joli coin d'Andalousie !!! La maison est très bien équipée, propre, confortable, au milieu des collines, des fleurs et des orangers. C'est particulièrement agréable au printemps avec les orangers en fleurs !

L'accueil par kelly est adorable et efficace.

Vous aurez avec elle toutes les informations sur la région (restaurant, magasins, visites...).

Une information importante : la maison est située au bout d'un long chemin caillouteux et un peu difficile à trouver.

C'est à prendre en compte dans vos projets de visites : il faut 45 mn pour rejoindre Antequera.

Par contre, la vue est splendide et la terrasse plein sud est un vrai bonheur.

Ne parlons pas de la piscine qui permet de se détendre après une longue journée de visites.

Nous y avons passé une semaine début Mai et nous y retournerons avec plaisir.

Beautiful scenery

We were at Alta Vista Septmeber 19-23, 2009. Beautiful property. Pictures on internet are authentic. Clean and well maintained. Enjoyed the care pack available upon arrival. Property is a bit secluded so be prepared to drive on a scenic and winding road.

Alta Vista

We have lots of experience with holidays in Andalucia. Alta Vista provided the best overall accommodation we have had. The villa itself is well-furnished and has been well-maintained. The pool is superb.

Access is better than we have had in the past, being 1km from the main road and 10 min from the local town.

Although the area has working farms, much of the time there was total peace and quiet and a very high level of privacy.

I can thoroughly recommend this property to people who want complete relaxation.

A haven!

Alta Vista is a fantastic villa for getting away from it all. We landed there stressed and tired from work and within hours were chilling with a glass of cava by the pool, transfixed by the gorgeous sunsets you see over the hills before you. The villa is very private with amazing views over the Andalucian hills and is very well equipped - in fact it feels like a home from home. We only left once to visit El Torca and then holed up for the rest of the week, reluctant to leave such a little paradise. If getting away from it all is what you want, I can't think of anywhere else I have holidayed that enables you to do that as much as this villa, so we will certainly be back!

Although the setting is rural, only 5 minutes drive away in the small hamlet of Pastelero there are two excellent bar/restaurants serving a wide range of delicious Spanish dishes, and a bakery. Villanueva de la Concepcion is 10 minutes away in one direction while at the same distance in the other Almogia clings precariously to a hillside. Both villages have many small shops, bars and restaurants. There are markets in Villanueva on Monday mornings and in Almogia on Tuesdays. The magnificent El Torcal national park, just above Villanueva , offers walking routes around and between intriguing rock formations. Twenty minutes away on the other side of El Torcal is the historic town of Antequera with its magnificent architecture, many fine churches, Moorish castle, Dolmen caves, Roman ruins, bullring, shops and golf course. The Antequera-Malaga motorway is 15 minutes away with easy routes to Granada, Cordoba, Seville, Ronda and the coastal beaches. Malaga is less than an hour away.

The Casita is available to rent also thus the property can sleep 6. Please note that the Main House and the Casita will NEVER be let to different parties so you will never be sharing the pool. The Casita will be let on its own only from the 1st October to the 30th May PROVIDED the Main House is not let. (If you have rented the Main House which sleeps 4 and would also like to rent the Casita which sleeps two, please contact us).
Changeover Day:
The changeover day is Saturday during July and August. We will try to be flexible if possible at other times. Check-out is at 10am and check-in is after 4pm.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. Payment can also be made in Euros for guests coming from the Euro zone. Discounted long winter lets are available from October to March. The property is available for short stays of three days or more from October to March also when the price quoted is a nightly rate. Please contact us for further details.

A deposit of 30% is required at the time of booking. Full payment must be made no later than 6 weeks before the start of the booked period. A 100 Euro or Pound returnable breakages deposit will also be required in cash by the property manager on arrival. This will be refunded on departure provided no breakages have occurred.

The living area has sliding doors to the terrace with south-facing views across the valley to the mountains. There is a large sofa and two leather club chairs. The 27' LCD TV has a satellite connection. The dining area has a traditional wooden table with 6 chairs. There is a computer and Wi-Fi internet access for guests use. The kitchen has an electric oven, a microwave over, a large fridge and a dishwasher. On top of the standard equipment, there is also a smoothie maker and a juicer. In the utility room are the washing machine, small drinks fridge and a freezer. The independent Casita (50ms up the hill) is available if you need an extra Bedroom. It has a shower room and Galley kitchen also. It will only be let if you require it and ONLY with the main house meaning you would NEVER be sharing the swimming pool. Because of the terrain and the unwalled terrace, the accommodation is not really suitable for toddlers. Further advice can be given if you need it.
