A direct oceanfront corner location gives this condominium the best ocean and coastline views but also a great view overlooking the pool. Free High Speed Internet Access available! Recently renovated with an updated kitchen, new furniture, all new tile and laminate flooring, tile master bathroom shower and paint. There are extra windows and a ceiling fan in the living room as well as ceiling fans in all bedrooms. There is a screened entrance porch for storing all your 'beach items' and a second screened porch on the oceanfront adjacent to the living room. There is also an oceanfront balcony off of the master bedroom. There is a private laundry room with new full-size washer and dryer. Our condominium is on the top floor so no 'footsteps' above you to keep you up at night or wake you up in the morning. There is an elevator just down the hall as well as luggage carts.
This is a 'Smoke Free' condominium. No smoking is allowed inside the condominium or on the balconies. Linens are not included but may be rented for an additional $80 per week.
Pelican's Watch is located on the popular Shore Drive and is only a short walk to the popular 'Ocean Annie's Beach Club' and the Apache Fishing Pier. The 'Straw Market' is a just down the street with bike rentals, a Subway sandwich shop, a convenience store, a pizza and ice cream shop, a gift shop, and an arcade.
Within a three-mile radius there is a Super Wal-Mart, Tanger Factory Outlet Stores, a Kroger 24-hour supermarket, the Colonial Mall with a cinema, and the new Bass Pro Shop, The Carolina Opry, and The Dixie Stampede (both offering live entertainment), and many great restaurants. There is also Broadway At The Beach to the south and Barefoot Landing to the north (both within five miles).
We also have two other oceanfront condos close by. The VRBO numbers are 7861 and 132861 so please check these out also!
My wife and I and our three young sons live right beside the Arcadian Shores Golf Course which is just a couple of miles from our Pelican's Watch condo. We love this location because it is so quiet yet easy to get to everything that the Grand Strand has to offer. Because we are so close we are able to take a very active role in the renting of our vacation condos. We personally inspect each unit prior to every check-in to make sure that everything is clean, working and ready for our guests to enjoy a great vacation! I also have been a local REALTOR and SC REAL ESTATE LICENSEE for the past 27 years and would be happy to assist any of our guests who may be interested in purchasing their own vacation home or permanent residence here in the Grand Strand area.
Robert Dicks purchased this condo in 2005
The Shore Drive area is great because it's a dead end street and therefore there is very little thru traffic. Most all other oceanfront condos in Myrtle and North Myrtle Beach are located right on Ocean Blvd. and there is traffic going up and down the road 24 hours a day. Shore Drive is usually only traveled by people that are staying in the area so it's just a lot less 'busy.' Yet, it's very easy to get to all the great attractions including Broadway At The Beach, Barefoot Landing, The Carolina Opry and Dixie Stampede. All of these are within approximately 5 miles or closer. Shopping is also within a couple of miles with a 24 hour Kroger and Wal-Mart plus Tanger Factory Outlets as well as The Myrtle Beach Mall with a movie theater and a Bass Pro Shop.
Our condo at Pelican's Watch has one of the best views of the beach and coastline that I have seen. Also, being able to see the pool from our condo is a big plus for parents who want to keep an eye on their kids. We also enjoy the oceanfront screened porch as well as the entrance screened porch (for keeping beach chairs, boogie boards, etc. on) and the laundry room with full size washer and dryer.
Terrific place to stay. We really enjoyed the sound and sight of the ocean both night and day. Very convenient location with easy walk or drive access to restaurants, bars, Apache Pier, and golf as well as shopping. We would certainly stay here again-good value for the money with 6 of us staying here. Owner, Robert is great to work with. We've already recommended it to friends. We traveled with 3 adults and 3 kids (ages 11, 12 and 14). Lots for all of us to see and do and enough room inside to spread out and maintain privacy on a rainy day. Wifi worked great. We enjoyed dinners out Finn McCool's (right around the corner), River City Pub in Myrtle Beach and Murrell's Inlet, Huntington Beach State Park, and outlet mall. Also convenient to the airport to transport our friend who flew in to meet us. Owner, Robert was very responsive with reservations, meeting us at the condo for an intro, and arranging for us to spend an extra day. We had everything we needed right there.
We have been vacationing in MB for over 15 years and this was probably the cleanest condo we have ever had. Robert welcomed us in person and was there to make sure we had what we needed.
3 nice size bedrooms, and master bedroom view of the beach is wonderful! We had an issue with a couple of the TVs and I had a response back from Robert within 5 minutes and they were replaced the next day. He was great to work with. We received the deposit back within 1 week of departure. Our kids loved the pool and it's walking distance to Apache pier, which has a neat game room. Parking was a breeze- no waits for elevators, plenty of luggage carts. Screened in porch was nice, especially in the mornings for coffee. I could go on and on, but just know you will not be disappointed! We hope to stay there early summer next year!
Myrtle Beach, Pelican's Watch, specially has restored my believe that this is the family vacation. Family of three daughters and grandchildren, staying in three different locations, had the vacation of vacations. The unit that wife, daughter, two grandchildren, my brother and I had was clean, quiet, up-to-date, roomy with an excellent view overlooking the beach. Bob met us, explained a few things and we settled in. The weather cooperated was perfect. We can not wait to go back knowing units like this still exist.
We have vacationed at Myrtle Beach my entire life and this is definitely a place we will stay again. We had 5 adults and 3 small children and it was the perfect size. It was a great family atmosphere with very little smoking and drinking. There were no issues at all with noise or partying. One thing we loved was the pool area was not crowded at all like other locations. This is a great place to stay
Robert gave us a great last minute deal, took care of us, and had a great time. Condo is the penthouse of this facility, corner suite, top floor, on the beach also overlooking pool. Condo is 3 great size bedrooms and 2.5 baths. Worked great for our 4 person family, easily could fit 6 people. Literally one elevator ride to the beach or pool. Huge beach. Good size pool that was never overly crowded like some of the other properties we saw. Only issue we had was the chain smokers. Lots and lots of smokers - kind of surprising quite frankly. There is a good restaurant/bar/shops basically across the street for lunch. Can also rent mopeds for cheap. Short drive to big shopping/restaurants/grocery store.
It is Myrtle Beach so expect big crowds, lots of noise, lots of traffic. This is a party location, not a secluded beach paradise. There is an outdoor bar 40 yards down the beach with very loud live music every night. The adjacent complex has HUGE outdoor flood lights on the 10th floor lighting up the whole beach all night. Typically people on the beach shooting fireworks till 1am. All Myrtle Beach is definitely a bit of a "tourist trap" with lots of corny places clearly all built around 1984. Our young kids loved it - and for what it is, pretty fun. But manage your expectations. We're a bit snobby and were less than impressed.
We forgot Roberts advice and ended up at the wrong buffet and paid $40/person for garbage. Make sure you follow Roberts advice - we goofed and paid for it. Had an INCREDIBLE dinner at Aspen Grille. I'm a terrible food snob that dines at great places frequently - and this place measured up. Over $100/person but very good.
Side note - we're from Ohio and apologize to everyone for all the bad Ohio drivers. The people that live in Ohio drive better than the ones that travel to Myrtle Beach.
I loved this place. I loved the beach theme in the home and the layout of the place fit our family of 6 - really well. The view was amazing and the location was perfect and to top all this off - the amazing care and attention that we received from Robert made our stay just all that more enjoyable. We enjoyed our stay here so much.
I will share a little secret fun spot we found - close to this condo. If you go, during low tide, down the beach (in the direction away from the pier) until just past the cluster of buildings - there is a spot that water goes behind the buildings - in this spot - you will find hundreds of little crabs that dig into holes, snails, and hermit crabs galore. For my kids, this spot entertained them for free - for a long time. You have to go at low tide. Have fun!!
