Lagraulet-Saint-Nicolas Barn Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms ,2 bathrooms,kitchen-diner,lounge & chimney,covered terasse,sleeps 6

This romantic 200 year old farmhouse is situated in a beautiful 3 acre garden, surrounded by ancient oak trees and sunflower fields. There is an 11mx5m swimming pool with a diving board and several sitting areas to choose from, some in the shade and some in the sun. The old barn (110m²), attached to the farm where we live, has been beautifully renovated into a very well equipped apartment on two levels, having its own car park, shaded patio for barbecues and is equipped to sleep 6 people comfortably. The house is ideal for a family holiday, as there is plenty of space for children in the garden ( table-tennis, badminton, sandpit, pool, water slides on a nearby lake ..) or suitable for a quiet holiday amongst adults (walks along the canal or in the Pyrenees mountains, Toulouse-Lautrec museum in Albi, medieval town of Carcassonne, lazing by the pool).

Guest book comments: 'Thank you for a Wonderful time. This has been a perfect place to relax. After a long drive, we were so happy to settle into a beautifully decorated house prepared for us, along with a cool bottle of wine. We will be happy to recommend this holiday to friends and family'

Charles, Susan, Jonathan and Jennifer.

'Thank you so much for a wonderful last week of our holiday in France. The house was the most comfortable and family friendly one we've stayed in and the pool was such a draw that Charlie has grown fins !'

Mandy, Andrew, Tom and Charlie.

'We've had a wonderful week, all your hard work in making this home beautifully comfortable has not gone unnoticed ! Thank you most sincerely once again - the best holiday we've had abroad for a long time.'

Penny, Alex, Sophie, Benjamin and Janet.

' Le Mayrinet is a great place to relax and be lazy by the pool, a beautiful apartment and very helpful hosts !! Thanks again for a superb time !'

Paul, Kathie and Maya.

Golf: The region is fantastic for golfing all the year round, however, May, June, September and October, are really excellent periods of the year for golfing in this region (nice weather, not too hot and not too many people on the courses). There are numerous golf courses in the region to suit all standards of golfer. Seilh International Golf Course is the closest, being 20 minutes away, which has two 18 hole golf courses, one International Standard and one PAR 64, which is ideal for higher handicappers. Other courses which should not be missed are:- Albi Lasbordes (1h15), fantastic course AND fantastic food ! (actually my personal favourite course in the region), Teoula (40mins) good course and good food. You can find more details of these courses by checking 'guide des golfs', 'nom', and then type the name of each course to find all relevant information. However, if you need any further information, please don't hesitate to contact me. I know the courses (and others), as I'm a golfer too !

Get Away From It All..and enjoy the peace & quiet

  • 5 of 5

We have just spent a fantastic fortnight in this wonderful place. Peace, tranquility and a relaxing time ...... That's what we wanted and that's exactly what we got. A big thanks to Kevin and Birte for finding us up on the top road and for a lovely warm welcome. The house has been lovely with everything we needed provided, as well as being cool and comfortable. The swimming pool has been the "jewel in the crown" and has been used everyday, an absolute must for kids. Plenty of fresh local produce on the BBQ and lots of Al Fresco eating and drinking has been a delight. A few day trips and all of the local markets have also been enjoyable. Sadly, it's time to go home and lose a few pounds. "A FANTASTIC HOLIDAY ! "

Vacances réussies à le Mayrinet!

  • 4 of 5

And, here is the English translation ..... We had a very good week at Le Mayrinet. The region is magnificent. The "Gite" is decorated with taste and in addition is comfortable. The beds too ! The pool is marvellous and as the weather was great we have been able to take benefit of it every day. The table tennis table was also really well appreciated. Unfortunately the bikes could not be used as the tyres were flat. Nearby we discovered the pretty villages of Cologne and Mauvezin, and also the castle at Lareole, and not forgetting Carcassone, which really is a must for a visit ! Thanks also to William for his warm welcome and his advice. Kind Regards, Marie-Hélène

Très bon séjour!!!

  • 4 of 5

We are very happy that you had a good relaxing holiday in our house. Here is the English translation of the review:- We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children, and have spent a fantastic week in Kevins' house.... We received a very warm welcome from his son William. The house is decorated very tastefully, is spacious and functional. The covered terrace was our main living space, it was truly pleasant even when really hot, and, was divine in the evening with a beautiful light shining through the surrounding oak trees. The swimming pool is large, and the garden with its' trees is huge.... The calm seems to appear everywhere, but the surrounding area has some nice walks in the countryside or the forest (less than 2km away), the villages of Sarrant, Solomiac, Cologne and Mauvezin (less than 20 minutes away by car) are very pretty. The market at Cadours and its' little tea salon close to the town square we really liked. Finally, the activity park for children AnimaParc, situated 10 minutes away, is, for parents with small children, is a day trip that the children will love, whilst also pleasant for the parents. This house is a beautiful one to relax at, and Kevin, a very attentive host...

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely time here. The house is beautifully decorated, the pool is great and the gardens are really nice. Kevin, the owner, is extremely helpful and can give you tips on the best places to go and where the best markets are, etc. We would love to go back.

Nice private gite, rural location.

  • 3 of 5

Gite has been nicely refurbished and was well equipped. Essentially clean although chandeliers and blinds very dusty. Very rural and quiet location however it is attached to owners property who entertained whilst we were there and sons played music throughout day. Lovely pool area and garden.

Lovely cottage with very nice swimming pool

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Le Mayrinet for one week in July 2015, at the start of our holiday. The cottage has two nice bathrooms and with three bedrooms, both of our children had their own bedroom. We all slept very well in the comfortable beds and you will find all you need in and around the cottage. The weather was hot that week, and we really enjoyed the large swimming pool and played table tennis every day. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner under the shaded terrace and our children liked calling the peacock that seemed to have settled down at Le Mayrinet for a little holiday. We visited the countryside with the many sunflowers, and towns like Carcassonne, Auvillar, had dinner in Cologne. Also the Château de Laréole was a nice day out and St. Antonin-Noble-Val, Cordes-sur-Ciel and the Cloistre in Moissac are places you must see. The Labyrinthe de Merville is not recommended if you and your children do not read and write French very well, it is impossible to walk through the labyrinth and not cheap. Thank you Kevin for the lovely stay and for your hospitality!
