The house is spread over three levels:

- The ground floor is the large "salon vosgien" decorated in the mountain style of the region.

About Roland Crisias

We fell in love with Alsace and the Vosges mountains more than ten years ago and always take pleasure in sharing them.

Roland Crisias purchased this house in 2005

Why Roland Crisias chose Lapoutroie

To share with our guests a region and a town we love and where we stay as often as possible.

What makes this house unique

The location above the village with peaceful views of pastures, cherry blossoms, the snowy landscape, the sun in the summer. And then a volume allocation of functional and pleasant home.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Roland,

We would like to thank you for sharing your lovely house with us.

We loved the house and it's views, and had a wonderful holiday in September. We had a very warm welcome from Amelie and she offered a lot of information about the area. We thought the area very interesting with much to do, and have never seen so many houses decorated with flowers!

Thank you for your kind gift of the wine in the refridgerator. We found some very nice cremant to buy as well, before returning home.

Félicitations

Penny and David.

Forest House La Poutroie

  • 4 of 5

We thought the gite was excellent and the situation on the hillside very scenic. However we were surprised by the church bells ringing every quarter of an hour from 6.30am to 10pm. This meant on several nights we were unable to get a good night's sleep. Despite this we loved the first floor lounge and viewing 'nest'. Amelie (the caretaker) was helpful and pleasant. The gite was very well equipped save for the absence of hair dryers which would have been very useful. We would suggest the log is removed near the parking at the property so larger vehicles could turn round as the garage is used for storage etc. However, all in all we had a wonderful stay, loved the area and were very happy with the holiday.

best view ever

  • 5 of 5

we arrived late having got a little lost with the sat nav however we were met my a warm welcome from Amelie and her young son. The view from the lounge window is breathtaking and was a source of delight every morning when we opened the shutters!

The house is much larger than we expected and very well fitted out - the bottle of wine from the owner was just what we needed afer a long journey.

There are many nice towns and villages within easy driving distance - Ribeauville, Colmar & Kayserberg are particularly pretty. The village of Lapoutroie is lovely and has a good boulangerie for bread and croissants - assuming you get up early enough

There are many supermarkets within a short driving distance but beware everythig is closed on Sunday - expcet for a few places in Colmar

We certainly come again

  • 5 of 5

We (4 adults family) stayed 10 days in this charming house. The house includes everything you need and it induces a warm atmosphere. Owner are very kind and give a good feeling. Thanks for the bottle of wine in the refrigerator. We met with a representative of the owner only twice: in check in and check out so we had a full privacy. The house located in a nice small town "Lapoutroie" (about 15 minutes from Colmar) in a quiet area. It still very close (2 minutes walk) to the bakery which you can buy French bread and cakes. We rented a car and traveled all over the region, wine route adjacent till the Black Forest in Germany.

We strongly recommend and certainly come again.

Perfect, charming, spacious vacation rental

  • 5 of 5

We were thrilled when we saw the house. It is even better than the pictures. It was much larger than we expected. All the rooms have a lovely charm, and there is a fantastic view from the large deck. Perfect for barbecue, and a well equipped kitchen for cooking. We would choose this rental again it is a little geml! the Hoppes
