Big Bear Lake Cabin Rental Photos and Description

playground, 2bed/2bath plus 1 bed/1bath guest cabin and dog run w/ a dog house!

This 2 cabin property on a 10, 000 sq. ft. lot and a playground. It is located on a quiet residential street surrounded by beautiful pine trees. You'll notice a particularly large one growing through the deck, and if you look up you'll see a PVC woodpecker in residence! A fenced in 15' x 35' dog run with a dog house behind the cabin, complete with a bag dispenser to clean up after your pet. There is also a pooper scooper between the cabins so that you can clean up if your pet wanders on the property.

California Dreamin' includes a 2 bed/2 bath cabin and a studio guest cabin. You can enjoy communal meals with the privacy of separate cabins. Relax in one of the two spas and enjoy the birds in the morning. Then try to count all the stars in the night sky. With the Kids playground and a steep hill for sledding in the side yard of the 10,000 sq. ft property, you needn't wander far for the fun to begin. Grill and play games on one of the two decks. Walk to the lake for swimming, fishing or boating. You're within a mile of village shops, alpine slide, bowling alley, restaurants, antique and thrift stores. Each cabin has a flat screen TV and a wood stove for evening relaxation, s'mores, or for thawing out after a day on the slopes. Pack up a picnic and a frisbee and head to Boulder Bay. If you forget anything at home, there's a Von's, Dollar Store, Hardware Store, DIY, K-Mart, Marinas, skate park and many Sporting Goods Stores where you can rent any equipment you like.

About joyce and rusty barker

We relocated to big bear lake california to ca. from ny in 2012 to be closer to our grandkids in san diego.

joyce and rusty barker purchased this cabin in 2006

Why joyce and rusty barker chose Big Bear

We made California Dreamin' our home because we can host our family & friends and it affords a calm and peaceful atmosphere for our retirement. the weather is ideal and the sky is like heaven.

What makes this cabin unique

The great room, the stars, the birds, the mountains and pine trees, and the small town feel where neighbors and merchants are friends. And the newly completed dog run so that your pet can safely enjoy the outdoors and not be cooped up in the cabin.

Spacious and inviting

  • 5 of 5

We came to Big Bear for a family wedding and had members of five separate families staying in both houses on the property. The main house was big enough that we didn't feel like we were stepping all over each other all the time, and the deck and the hot tub were great gathering places. The hot water heater worked surprisingly well given that we had many people in and out of the shower getting ready for the wedding, and I never heard anyone complain of a cold shower! It was very warm the weekend we stayed here; the main house remained quite comfortable even in the middle of the day, but the smaller cabin got very warm--especially when people were in and out of the shower.

The property was very clean and nice, and the owners were very responsive any time I contacted them. Most anything you would want for a short stay is provided although we were surprised that we couldn't find an iron and ironing board. I suppose most guests aren't in the mountains for formal events!

The house is a very short drive to the village and the lake, and many other amenities that we didn't have time to explore. I would definitely recommend this property to others.

Great owners as they respond almost right away. Great location! Neat hill for little ones to go down on saucers. Plenty of parking. Cabin great for the family and kids to hang out. Will come back for sure! Thanks!

Excellent for families!

  • 5 of 5

We were pleasantly surprised at how large the property was and how well kept everything was. The extra side cabin suite was perfect for grandpa who could use space away from the kids. The kids loved the basement thought it was a mineshaft...pretty neat with the lighting. Unfortunately during our visit they cleaned out the spa so we didn't get to use it one night however we got a perfectly brand-new clean water spa the next night.

Large kitchen and room made things easy. We will likely try to stay here again.

Amazing place to stay! The whole family had a great time!

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was great. The kitchen is large and had plenty of space for our big family and with plenty of pots and pans to make cooking for a large group much easier. The playground in front was great for the kids and there was still enough snow on the ground for a little sled run. 2 minutes from the tubing park made it easy to come back to the house for a break and refuel before hitting the slopes again. The owners are amazing and Joyce was kind enough to call and remind us of the "noise curfew" which is tough to adhere by when it is so easy to have fun and lose track of time at this place.

Large house and beautifully well kept.

  • 5 of 5

This property is perfect for a medium size group. There is plenty of sleeping space and the beds are very comfortable. It feels like home and is very clean and well maintained. The property owners are very helpful if you have any questions and you can tell they love this place as well. It is close to the village and minutes away from the two mountain resorts. I will definitely rent this house again if I can!!!

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Highly recommend this cabin. The owners were easy to get a hold of and very friendly. The cabin itself was perfect. The ideal spot if you have two families. It's very easy to see the owners pay special attention to guests. There are labels throughout the cabin helping guests find what they need. I would recommend the cabin to anyone
