Ideal for a relaxing holiday, amazing outdoor spaces in gated gardens + pool
About Alan Egginton
We live in Preston, but spend a lot of our time at our holiday villa. Christine, originally from, Devon retired from her bridal retail shop in 2008. I am originally from Stoke on Trent, after spending many years in the army with Christine at my side. I then started a property management and development business, I retired in 2011. We love the countryside and spend as much time outside as we can, but the UK weather forced us indoors much too often, so we decided on a holiday home in Spain. After researching online for 6 months, and then 5 visits and a few thousand miles searching southern Spain, we eventually found this perfect location. The villa had been empty for some time, and with a pretty much blank canvas and 4 years work we now have our dream holiday home. If you choose to spend your holiday here we are sure you will agree it is a stunning location with excellent accommodation. We will most likely be at the villa during your stay but have our own space, so you can see as much, or as little of us as you wish, but always have the peace of mind that we will be there for any advice or requests you may have, we ensure that the pool and sun terrace is kept clean and you have clean towels etc, usually done before you rise, We have two small, friendly dogs, Molly and Willow who may visit you now again.
Alan Egginton purchased this Villa in 2011
Why Alan Egginton chose Torrox
The huge sun terrace with its mountain and ocean wiews and tropical planting is probably the most outstanding feature, there are various seating areas to suite your mood or orientation of the sun. 8 modern, adjustable, deep cushioned sun loungers with soft towelling covers are situated around the pool, with parasols and table/lockers, large pool towels are provided and regularly changed. The outside Kitchen - Lounge - Dining - Bar area is a great space, It is shaded under a thatched roof and has retractable floor to ceiling blinds all the way around, it is equipped with cooling fans, or heating for when it is closed down in the cooler months. There is a large screen TV, Amazon fire stick, uk channels, wifi 20 Mbps*, Bluetooth speakers, A large dining table for 8 + is provided with large cushioned chairs, there is also a large lounge seating arrangement with a table. The Kitchen is fully equipped -including dishwasher, oven, hob, chip fryer, microwave, coffee maker, fridges, freezer, etc, etc, there is also a large charcoal BBQ, and wood fired Bread Oven, these can be lit and prepared for you upon request, the kitchen comes equipped with cutlery, crockery, and cooking utensils. And yet another lounge area! This is the place to chill, and get away from the noisy lot in the other lounge! it is out of the way with a Moroccan theme, comfortable seating, fish pond, waterfall, and soft planting.
What makes this Villa unique
The villa has been themed as "away from it a all" due to its location and natural tranquil setting, however it is only 9 miles, ( 15 - 20 minutes ) from the coast and all its attractions.

The general opinion for my party was that the pictures on the site did not do the property justice! For our 7 day stay, we could not find something we could have wanted more! Christine and Alan have anticipated our every need! Both of them are very friendly and nice. Molly and Wilow were fun to play with. All in all we had a great time and a fabulous experience.
4 lovely couples from Romania, who really enjoyed their stay. They traveled about a lot visiting towns and cities throughout Andalusia.
We have had many comments in our reviews mentioning that the photos do not do justice to the villa and it's setting, I can live with that! especially when I see the expressions on our guests faces when they first move onto the sun terrace, I think it would be hard to recreate the views on a photograph.
We have just returned from a fabulous 2 week holiday in Alan and Christine ‘s amazing property. We were a party of 8 holidaying together to celebrate birthdays and a 60th wedding anniversary. The layout of the property is ideal - the ‘youngsters’ stayed in one apartment, with the ‘oldies’ in the other.
Alan and Christine are amazing hosts, nothing is too much trouble for them. The property itself is wonderful and everything you could possibly need is there for you, with everything being to a very high standard. Willow and Molly the resident pooches, visited most days to say hello and play ball games.
The villa is in a stunning location, very peaceful with great views both of the mountains and the sea. The grounds are wonderful and we made excellent use of the pool and the outside eating area, which is just great.
We visited the nearby villages of Torrox and Frigiliana, both wonderful very traditional Spanish villages with some great restaurants.
We would definitely recommend staying here, thanks for everything. Hope Christine had a great birthday and is enjoying her trip back to the UK.
A fabulous villa
An amazing villa, which exceeded everything we had hoped for! The attention to style and detail is breathtaking. Many claim 5 stars, but Alan and Christine have really achieved it with what they have created here and the kind and helpful service they offer. We all loved the pool and pool area, we loved to barbecue and be able to sit out under the lights every night. We also loved all the places we found locally. A wonderful holiday!
An unforgettable family holiday!
Where to start? From the moment we booked the villa, Alan was the perfect host - organising taxis from the airport, fully stocking the outdoor honesty bar and preparing everything for our 1 year old to make the first nights stay a seamless transition where we all settled instantly.
We were visiting for a friend’s wedding in Nerja and the rest of the family were just planning on chilling - which is exactly what we did! It is hard not to relax, with stunning sitting areas, breathtaking views and a superb outdoor kitchen and bbq. We stayed outdoors all day and night and never needed to use the indoor living areas (although they are also wonderful). Everything was modern, clean, with every last detail considered. Absolutely faultless and can not wait to revisit. Safe to say none of us wanted to leave!!
Thanks Alan and Christine for a first class holiday!
As always, it means a lot to us to know our guests have enjoyed their stay.
I do agree that taking in the views and the peace and tranquility gives you an uplifting experience.
A beautiful property, the owners were exceptionally helpful, even taking us shopping on the first evening. Thank you so much Chrissie and Alan for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.
Even better in reality!
What an amazing place to stay. The setting is wonderful - incredible views across the valley and to the coast. So well appointed - especially the poolside kitchen/dining room where we practically lived all week. Christine was a fabulous host - very welcoming.
It's just under an hour's drive from Malaga airport and the last 5 minutes or so are on quite small tracks but Christine or Alan will meet you and escort you and the car up which is great to help get you orientated. It's about half an hour to get to Nerja which is well worth a trip out as is Malaga itself (highly recommend the cycle tour there - great for older kids too). However, the best bit was just hanging out by the pool.
Can't wait to visit again!
We always meet our new guest at a prearranged point, as the villa is difficult to find, and some sat-navs could take you on impassable routes.
I agree! After 8 years I still find the views mesmerising.
the eastern end of the Costa del Sol a 45 minute drive on the motorway from the Costa del Sol airport(formally Pablo Picasso airport). Frankly most visitors turn right at the airport to the glamour and glitz of Marbella and the Golden Mile, only the lucky ones turn left to the picturesque area known as the “Axarquia” an area comprising of 32 municipalities including Nerja.
Nerja is a quaint low rise fishing village with a resident population of around 25,000. Once a sleepy fishing village, the town has developed and extended in a very sympathetic way retaining it’s unmistakably Andalucian feel. Café bars, shops, narrow, winding streets and whitewashed houses with wrought iron terraces overflowing with geraniums are plentiful. At the heart of Nerja is its spectacular Balcón de Europa, a magnificent palm tree lined promontory with sweeping panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the small coves and beaches to the east and west.
From the Balcon head east beside the sea along the fashionable Calle Carabeo , Continue walking east to Burriana Beach with its many bars, restaurants and water sports.
One of Nerja´s major attractions is the weather. The area boasts “The best climate in Europe”. In the summer it´s usually around 30º C plus and in the winter usually around 15º - 20º C with lots of sun even in the middle of winter. This January the sea temperature was around 14ºC which compares favourably with many Northern European summer sea temperatures of 12ºC. It is not unusual to see people sunbathing on the beaches at least 9 months of the year.
Nerja is not the classic Spanish sea side resort boasting a long promenade of first line properties, in fact only a small proportion of its beaches are property dominated. In total there are no less than 9 beaches from Playazo in the west to Burriana in the east.
