About John and Glenda Anderson
We moved from Lacey/Olympia, WA to Packwood in 1985. John did commute to Olympia for work until he retired as Assistant State Fire Marshall in 1997. Over the years we have remodeled our home that was once his parents retirement home and now ours. In 2014 We started a new adventure with converting John's home office and single car garage into a vacation rental after he had to quit work due to health issues in . We have been blessed and amazed by the wonderful people who come to stay at our "Casita", (means little house). We live here full time so when guest come with give them their privacy. If they need anything we are here to serve where we can. We have a new addition, on September 2, 2017 we brought home a 10 week old puppy, a Havanese, his name is "Jangles" his cousin's name is Beau, so we came up with Jangles. After having 2 sweet black labs we missed having a dog. We have rules with having dogs here. Need proof of shots and flea treatment and well behaved, the owners need to pick up after them. If the dog is not well groomed please respect our rules and leave them home.

Don’t miss a chance to stay at the Casita!
The Casita is a wonderful place to stay! It is a breath of fresh air at the end of a day of hiking. It is beautifully decorated, impeccably clean, thoughtfully stocked and well located for a trip to Mt Rainier! The owners, John and Glenda, are so friendly and accommodating — you’ll feel right at home!
Steve and Bev,
Thank you for the awesome review. The Casita was so clean when you left here. Many kudos to you..
One thing for sure meeting a couple like you both were a highlight. You two were awesome and like old friends from the past, wish you didn't live so far away we could visit more.
Great out in the woods retreat!
Nice little casita with beautifully maintained property. Close proximity to Mt Rainer. Owners are on site and extremely accommodating.
Kurt and Venecia,,
Thanks for your kind review.
So glad you picked our Casita so we got to chance to meet you both and visit together.
Thanks for the extra work in cleaning in the Casita, very much appreciated.
John and Glenda's casita is wonderfully comfortable and peacefully situated in a blissful garden seting. Thank you for being wonderful hosts!
Nancy and Warren,
Sorry I am so late in responding.
Thank you for the awesome review from Labor Day week-end. John and I were so impressed with your family reunion here and how successful it was for you all.
Many kudos for getting the Casita in tip top shape.
Sandra was over picking apples in the rain on Monday, still have lots of apples left.
Great little house near the park
A wonderful stay at the Casita. Hosts were very responsive and have created an incredibly well-stocked and appointed house. Only 20 minutes to the park. Would definitely stay there again if we get back to Mount Rainier.
Jared and Dana,
Thanks for your great review.
It was nice meeting you both and we were overwhelmed in how clean you left the Casita.
We hope you make it back here again someday.
Glenda and John
a fun time for all
John and Glenda were super hospital and caring, providing info about hikes and the local area. They even lent us some DVDs on a rainy day.
It was great having your family stay here at the Casita this August. You are blessed with a wonderful family.
Glenda and John
Lovely accommodating hosts. Very well equipped. Very quiet location. Elk roam woods just behind. Short stroll to the river. Easy access to Mount Rainier and its hiking trails. Beautiful garden to relax in along with hot tub. Definitely recommended.
Our property is near the Cowlitz River and Gifford Pinchot National Forest, great place to enjoy the outdoors for all ages. Our town of Packwood is known for the two annual flea marts, Memorial Day week-end and Labor Day week-end. We are 6 miles from Packwood in community called High Valley Park we are 2 miles past the club house and golf course. Note the sections of the HVP are not in numerical order, kinda of confusing. We are in the last park of 8 and 11.
