Charming French cottage with fabulous host

  • 5 of 5

This is a charming and comfortable home. Robert is the most gracious host you could imagine! The Home had all the amenities you could want. The town is very small with no services but if you have a car, everything you need is close by (within a few miles). The beds were comfortable. We were six adults traveling together and the space was great! There is a spa nearby and plenty of places for wonderful walks. Everybody around was extremely friendly but you should speak a little French! Robert went out of his way to make sure we had a great visit!

Wonderful village home.

  • 5 of 5

A little gem! Robert, the owner and his family have done an outstanding job on making this old village house into something amazing.

The transformation beggars belief and we got to enjoy it.

Situated in a beautiful valley, with vineyards and forest, there is much to see and done in the immediate area. The weekly market at Soultz is great fun and the food at L'Aigle D'Or in Rimbach (next village over) is divine.

So much more to do and see, we simply have to go back.

One little annoyance was the lack of internet, which without a European phone made things a little tricky sometimes.

Merci Robert et a la prochaine, j'espere.

Idyllic and peaceful mountain home

  • 5 of 5

Robert and Dominique are some of the most thoughtful and generous hosts we've met. They seemed to think of everything in their carefully restored home in the tiny town of Rimbachzell when our family of seven (grandparents, parents, and kids) visited in December. Candles were burning in the lantern outside to show us the way when we arrived; and they had prepared a freshly baked cake, decorated a Christmas tree, left birdseed in the feeder, and gathered firewood for our use.

We loved this less touristy corner of Alsace for its friendly spirit, fresh mountain air, and peaceful, beautiful views. On a practical note, the kitchen is fully outfitted, the beds very comfortable, and the third large bedroom below the ground floor (overlooking the pool) allows space and quiet between kids and adults. We'd wholeheartedly recommend this home.

Une petite merveille !

  • 5 of 5
