This splendid Mas Provençal is only 4 km away from Sanary sur Mer, delightful little Mediterranean port which has kept all its charm with its pedestrian streets and its restaurants upon the sea.

This small town lives all year round, shops are open on Sundays, and the market is nocturnal in the summer. Portissol Beach and Golden Beach are an 8-minute drive away.

It is an ideal starting point for many excursions in the hinterland or by the sea, the island of Embiez, Bendor, the creeks of Cassis, Bandol, Porquerolles the famous wines of Bandol, the Golf of The Frégate etc ...

The house, recently built, is inspired by traditional houses. It is a three levels house. Lovely “restanques” and surround it. The garden and swimming pool are secured. We planted a lot, cypresses, olive trees, lavenders, oleanders. Lovers of Provence and all that it can offer from its essences and aromas.

The house is in the countryside, at the top of a very wooded hill. A charming road boldly climbs to the mas.

Not overlooked. No neighbors within 300 meters. But you are not isolated, other charming houses populate the hill ... The infinity pool is heated on request with supplement. Unique view of the valley, part of the still very protected places of this region. The nature is beautiful! From the rooms and the terrace we can admire the infinite sea ... We decorated this house with love, inspired by our many travels and by our taste for light, the softness of white and the brilliance of the colors of Provence. We recently built a pergola on the terrace in the shade of a large umbrella pine for lazy naps ...

You will also love this house in the winter, because it is remarkably well heated.

In the summer, the air conditioning by the ground throughout the house gives it a great freshness.

At 2 KM, the star Michelin restaurant of Terre Brune and the tasting of Bandol wine!

Toulon - Hyères Airport is 25 minutes away. Marseille is 1hour away.

The station Ollioules - Sanary is 4 km away. TER from Marseille or from Toulon.

You will be welcomed personally with a glass of rosé of Provence KEVIN will welcome you and will be pleased to explain to you the functioning of the house and the excursions to make in the region.

To get there GPS "la villa des oliviers" or, follow the signs "area of Terrebrune from the entrance of Ollioules or fix a rendezvous point with Kevin.

From Marseille, or from Toulon, take the motorway exit "Chateauvallon", then direction "Ollioules". At the entrance of Ollioules, direction "le Gros Cerveau" on the left, climb for 3 km then

Turn left: "chemin de la Tourelle".

You can also follow the signs "Domaine de Terrebrune" from Ollioules. The road leading to the Villa is 800 meters on the right after the estate of Terrebrune. Then take a left just before the greenhouses and climb to the top and at the end: You are there.

Why Francois de Valbray chose Toulon region

THE VILLA –

While the town center is a bustling place, our home is located in the peaceful countryside – just 4 km (2 miles) outside of the village center.

When you enter our private drive, you will pass vineyards, olive and fig trees – and then come to our flower farm where we grow a variety of plants but are specialist in Muguet (a small white lily that we harvest each spring). After passing our “bastide” (large stone farmhouse) over 400-years old, you will climb a small road leading up a hill to the rental villa. We call our home "Oliviers" – due to the abundance of Olive trees on the property.

The house is very private – as it is at the end of the road. It was constructed in 2007, and has thick plaster walls, which allow it to be cool in the summer and warm in the winter. In additional we have radiant heat to guard against a winter chill. The roof is a mosaic of multi-colored clay tiles – typical of homes in this region.

The kitchen (with dishwasher, electric oven, cooktop and microwave) was designed in an open style so you can see into the large dining and living while you prepare meals. We want our guests to be comfortable – and have equipped the kitchen with all the small appliances you would find in a typical permanent home. We have plates and glasses to accommodate large family gatherings.

The house has five private bedrooms, plus a sleeping loft – and can accommodate twelve people… but it has been set up in such a way that certain rooms can be closed off, and just the ground floor used, so it can be cozy for a couple.

Merveilleux

Vue splendide de la maison a 180 degres. Rien que du bonheur. Aucune mauvaise surprise : La piscine est magnifique, La maison est spacieuse, confortable et décorée avec bcp de raffinement. L accés est un peu déroutant, on passe devant des serres horticoles qu on ne voit plus du tout arrivé en haut de la colline. La proximité de Sanary et des plages rend les escapades très faciles. On est a l abri des foules, tout en étant au coeur de la ´place to be !´ On recommande à 100 pour cent.

"Ein wunderschönes, liebevoll eingerichtetes Haus in ruhiger Lage. Ideal zum Erholen, wobei man in wenigen Auto-Minuten im Zetrum des Geschehens ist. Die Vermieter sind ausgesprochen nett und waren sehr um unser Wohl besorgt ohne aufdringlich zu werden. wir kommen gerne wieder."

Sanary-sur-Mer is blessed with the best weather – we proudly boast 325 days of sunshine. The temperatures are more moderate than other areas of Provence as we benefit from proximity to the sea, and the occasional blowing of the “Mistral”.

Sanary is alive with activity throughout the year, including theater, concerts, and art exhibitions. There is an opera in Toulon, just 15-minute drive from our house, and another in Marseille, 30 minutes.

In the center of town there is also miniature golf, and a beautiful old fashion working carousel along with rides and playground designed for little ones. Every morning the Marché (open air market) is open and vendors bring locally grown fruit, vegetables and provincial specialties. Visitors love the fresh goat cheese, which is made locally. Cepes (also known as porcini mushrooms) are found in the region and move into the markets in the fall. In winter you can buy truffles and the springtime brings local wild asparagus. Each of the villages in Var and the surrounding department, Bouche de Rhone, has its own market day and distinctive market. You can spend weeks going around to each and finding your favorites.

Or do you prefer visiting world class wineries and tasting rich full reds or perhaps a cold rose would better fit with the day’s sunshine?

If Yes… then we invite you to come to Provence and experience true French country life, by renting our Mediterranean sea-view home which is totally peaceful, and yet right next to the vibrant village of Sanary-sur-Mer with so much to offer.

The region is famous for Bandol and Cassis wines. Within a 20-minute drive you can visit over 40 wineries; most offer tours and tastings. Sanary also has a local wine cooperative where farmers, not large enough for their own label, bring their wine to be processed and sold… you can buy wine by the liter (about 2 euros per liter) and bring it home in a plastic jug, just like the locals.

Naturally we have an abundance of Boulangerie’s – more than 10 in our village. Each will tempt you with their baguettes and pastries – and if you like crispy bread just ask if the bread “parle” (speaks). The town is filled with restaurants – many specializing in Bouillabaisse. There also is a lovely restaurant set in the midst of the famous vineyards of Domaine Terrabrune, which is walking distance from our house. You can never go hungry in Sanary.

If you enjoy shopping, you’ll be happy to browse in the clothing and gift boutiques.
