The Parkside Suite
This bright, spacious and newly renovated 3-bedroom, 2-bath half duplex is located across the street from the beautiful 68-acre John Hendry Park - known by locals as Trout Lake Park - and just blocks from the trendy restaurants, cafes and shops of Commercial Drive, making it the perfect oasis for vacationers, business travelers, renovators, and visiting family and friends.
Quick access to downtown and all other areas of the region by car, bus or Skytrain, with major transit hubs and highway access very close by. Parking on street or off private lane is free.
The suite features comfortable and stylishly modern furnishings, including new luxury Europtop beds with 1,000 thread count linens, a leather sectional sofa and plush outdoor conversation set, and comes fully equipped with a gas fireplace, 40” High Definition Smart TV, full cable package, Blu-ray, high-speed wireless internet, all appliances, all linens and cookware, etc.
Trout Lake Park is a favourite spot for recreation and relaxation, and offers free tennis courts (raquets provided on request), lovely running/walking/cycling paths around the lake, a wonderful new children's playground, soccer fields, baseball diamonds, a large off-leash dog area and beach, beautiful tall trees, lovely North Shore mountain views and more. Perfect for walks, picnics, play or quiet down time.
There's also the new Trout Lake Community Centre, which has a full gym, ice rink, drop-in fitness and arts classes and much more; and across the street is the fantastic Trout Lake Market every May-October (www.eatlocal.org).

We used to live near Trout Lake so it was sort of like coming home when we stayed at this suite! Our girls were so excited when they discovered that Jen had left them some Christmas treats, great books to read and several fun games - definitely a nice touch. The suite itself was perfect for our family of 4 and was very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect - right across from Trout Lake and close to Commercial Drive, and even though it is right on Victoria Drive, it was quite quiet since it is the back unit. Thanks again Jen for a great stay - we'll be back!
Nice, tidy and clean accommodation in a convenient location. Owners are friendly and provide you anything you need like home during the stay! Highly recommended if you need to stay in Vancouver.
We stayed at the Parkside Suite in early September and absolutely loved it! The suite was nicely renovated and was very bright, clean, spacious and very well-stocked. The owners Jen and Jean were so awesome! They were very welcoming and always available if we had any questions, but gave us total privacy too. They also shared lots of information about Vancouver and forwarded suggestions re things to do in the area. The location of the suite was incredible – right across the street from Trout Lake where we went for walks, took the dog to the park, had a picnic, and worked out at the great gym in the community centre. Just a few blocks from the Skytrain and buses, too, so it was very easy to get downtown and elsewhere. We loved the Commercial drive area, so many great shops and restaurants. We are definitely going to come back to the Parkside Suite next time we are in Vancouver! Steve and Sue from Canmore.
I very much enjoyed my first time in Vancouver in Parkside Suite; we arrived by car and found the place to be in a very nice neighborhood and just perfect for the 4 of us with the 3 bedrooms with comfy beds and sufficient space to hang out. We didn't need to use the public transportation because of the car rental, but found downtown to be a short 10-15 min drive. The Trout Lake park just across the street has beautiful views and is well worth the walk to get a grasp of local life. With supermarkets very close by, and Commercial Drive around the corner, the suite is very practical and it easily makes you feel at home. Jen was very kind and helpful with tips around the city and nearby local favorites as well. Thanks a lot for a lovely stay!!!
My husband and I spent a weekend at the brand-new Parkside Suite with our daughter, our dog, and our friends (another couple and their son). It sounds like a full house, but the suite was more than big enough for all of us. Our friends stayed in the bigger bedroom with their 5-year-old, we stayed in the second bedroom, and our 13-year-old daughter got the third bedroom (which doubles as an office) all to herself. We've stayed at Jen's and Jean's other property on the other side of the park before, so we knew that we would find everything we needed at the new suite. As always, there were toys, movies, and sporting equipment for the kids, a fully stocked kitchen with all of the things we needed to make a couple of full meals (with the fresh wild salmon, lettuce, and fruit that we picked up from the Saturday farmer's market across the street!), and the loveliest linens and furnishings. When you want to get away for a few days, there's nothing better than a beautiful space with owners who so warmly welcome you and your kids and your dog. For our second trip in a row staying with Jen and Jean, we found that we loved the Trout Lake area so much that we didn't even end up going to downtown, Stanley Park, or Granville Island (but for those who want to venture out, there's a super convenient train five minutes away). Trout Lake Park has everything we wanted - tennis courts, a kids' play area, and farmer's market. Parkside Suite is now officially our regular rental spot for our weekends away from Seattle!
I enjoyed a restful stay in this beautiful newly renovated suite. Every detail is attended to by the owners Jen and Jean who were extremely helpful and welcoming. The suite is off the street, so very quiet, and the beds are luxurious – all making for a great night's sleep. There are some great restaurants nearby and it's right near the Trout Lake Park. A brand new smart TV with cable and Netflix meant I was able catch up on some of my favourite shows while relaxing after a busy day. The suite is spacious enough for a large family or small group. I'm looking forwarding to visiting again, next time with my wife and kids.
