Welcome to serenity! Once you enter this spanish/english speaking gated community of Hermosa you will find an immediate feeling of escape and bliss. When you step out of the car you will see beautiful exotic birds and iguanas. Keep your eye out for parrots too, they are usually hanging out in the almond trees that surround the area!
This home has all the comforts of home. Simply bring yourself, sunscreen or coconut oil ;) a swimsuit, and you'll be good to go!
Guarded 24 HOURS! there is plenty of help if in need of immediate assistance. You will feel absolute comfort here. The main office can plan any type of tour and offer any recommendations you can imagine!
Steps away from the world renown waves & 5 mi. long beach, life becomes easy. The Private Playa Hermosa Gated community offers access to an expansive pool with a swim up bar!
The office offers surf board and boogie board rentals as well as much more. The clubhouse offers plenty of lounge chairs under palm trees on the beach to hangout or shield yourself from the strong sun. There are plenty of places to hike around the area as well if you're feeling adventurous enough to leave the community.
Located 10 minutes from Jaco you can take a ride there to learn to surf on the smaller waves, go out shopping, night clubbing, or check out the fresh seafood restaurants. Pajara Pinta is one of my favorites - check out their Facebook page. Jaco is the biggest city of this area so you will also find markets, grocery stores, car rentals, casinos, and much more!
This black sand beach is also a turtle sanctuary. Up to 20,000 turtles hatch each year and with a bit of luck you can see the enormous sea turtles arrive to one of their favorite nesting grounds. MONTHS: Best time to visit is July to December. Particularly in and around September, hatchlings are released almost daily!
Engage in as much relaxation or adventure that your soul desires. You will feel uplifted and grounded by the atmosphere within and outside this beautiful house. Compare our prices to the other local homes.
**We are always available if you have any questions so please don't hesitate.

Liz purchased this house in 2008

We really enjoyed staying in house #93 over the last week. It is in a great location and having the pool/beach access was wonderful. I just wanted to point out some minor items in the house that might warrant the owners attention.
- We could not get the oven to work. When YoYo brought us dinner, she tried to get it working, too, but couldn't. There seems to be enough gas, but we could not get the pilot light to light. (owners note: this is a standard gas oven that you must light from the bottom. I will include a note in the guests manual for the future.)
- The AC in the back bedroom that was not working is still not very strong. During the day the room gets hot, but it cools down after the sun goes down.(owners comment: I am aware of this ac unit being on its last leg. It will be replaced soon but in the meantime it is working and cools the average sized room well. Please note to never set the temperature below 19 degrees or it will not work efficiently.)
These things did not really cause us any problems, but these are things the owner may want to address. (Owner note: thank you)
I want to repeat that we had a good time in CR and the property worked well for us. I hope we can return some time in the future.
My family and I came to Costa Rica from New Jersey to enjoy a bit warmer weather since our December had been colder than usual. We envisioned long, warm days lounging and swimming at the pool enjoying the beautiful surroundings. This home is truly lovely, well-kept, clean and nice as the pictures displayed at VRBO.
If I were rating this review solely on the house, it would be 5 stars. However, there two areas of the home that I believe that the owner may want to consider improvement on – 1) the master bathroom shower drainage system needs replacement/repair and 2) the living room large black sofa is in poor condition.
Matt, the caretaker, was a great help for anything we needed. He was attentive and addressed our concerns timely. He made suggestions regarding restaurants, entertainment, and nightlife in Jaco which is 10 minutes driving by car from the house.
Playa Hermosa is super cool little town with amazing beaches, views, waves, restaurants and bars.
We rented a car so the trips to and from Jaco for dinner, nightlife, afternoon surfing contests, etc were a blast.
We visited Manuel Antonio beach (1.5 hrs drive from the house), went zip lining and rode ATV, which we loved. We also visited Arenal volcano, which was a long trip, but worth it. We loved the volcano and surrounding areas. Next time we will check out the hot spring.
All in All it was one of the nicest places we have stayed in Costa Rica...This was our 2nd time in the country, So a big thanks to Liz and Matt for allowing us to stay in your home and taking good care of us.
ATV rentals, SURFING AND BODYBOARDING, hang-gliding, CANOPY TOURS, turtle sanctuary, national parks, hiking, biking, an endless number of other activities
