Chris Shoupe purchased this boat in 2014
Why be land locked? Any Caribbean adventure revolves around the water. Boat rentals and day trips are very expensive. Renting Villas or hotels are also expensive and you are still land locked. Dinning and drinking out also adds considerable expense to your trip. Staying on a yacht gives you 24 hour access to these crystal clear warm waters and is the most affordable way to experience all this beautiful area has to offer. The boat is loaded with everything you need for an amazing adventure. Our crew will assist you along your way so all you have to do is sit back and sip on your freshly made cocktail and enjoy the sun and the fresh sea breeze.
Being on the water offers lots of unique benefits. Its much cooler on the water then on land as we always have a fresh cool breeze. All our cabins are equipped with fans and 5 hatches that let the cool ocean air to blow through. AC is not necessary. As in any tropical area bugs can be an major issue. Staying on the water is the only way to escape them. No need for bug spray here. There is no better way to enjoy the Caribbean then on a Yacht!
This was really an awesome experience. I highly recommend this boat and this experience to anybody. The crew went above and beyond anything we would've expected, and the owner who wasn't able to be there made sure we were treated like Kings and Queens. Travelling allover the USVI's and BVI's, we went places and saw things that I can't wait to get back to experience again. If I could put my email address or phone number on here, I'd gladly take any calls for any recommendations or references as to how sweet this was. Thanks for a great time Kindred Spirit. See you soon.
I cannot say enough about this boat and the crew. Kara and Morgan were off the chart. They immediately became part of TeamSS with a singular goal of creating a memorable trip. We managed to stop at all of the hotspots we requested and some additional spots new to us. Kara and Morgan were both extremely knowledgeable and professional whether it was tips on how to gracefully exit the dinghy or how to find quiet a spot to catch a few zzzz's on the Kindred Spirit. Food was undoubtedly better than some of the $200 meals I had on shore. Cannot believe that I went years with Tony Chachere's in our cabinet and never put it on my eggs.
After many island trips we decided to try a chartering for a day or two. Best decision we ever made. We have already decided next year will be a 7-day charter and we can think of no one better to do that with than Kara and Morgan.
If you are on the fence about chartering please do yourself a favor and charter this boat. While the owners were stateside they were very accommodating and ensured that we had everything needed. If you do luck out and are able to get Kara and Morgan, I promise that you will have a memorable trip and be as hooked as #teamSS.
My time spent on the Kindred Spirit was wonderful. Our crew, Jeremy and Kara, were extremely knowledgeable and professional. They did a great job tailoring the experience to what we wanted it to be and the food and drinks were delicious. It was unlike anything I had ever done before.
Spent 4 glorious nights on Kindred Spirits and would do it again in a heart beat! The food was delicious, the service was spot-on and the boat was SO clean! Captain Chris was very knowledgeable & charismatic and Elisabeth was wonderful at knowing the right balance of privacy and special attention while we hung out on the front of the boat soaking up the beautiful BVI scenes. They are a great couple and make the trip a huge success. Can't wait to do it again!
This was our best trip yet! Chris and Elizabeth rock! They made our trip extra special for sure. Not sure I would want to take this adventure with anyone else now. They make it all look effortless and make you feel so pampered and welcome. We left the boat feeling they were our friends and truly enjoyed getting to know them and their company.
Our only regret was we only had 3 nights, it was not long enough.
We were able to see some beautiful, amazing places in that short time.
They were great about letting us know our options
in the BVI's and letting us choose the itinerary.
The boat itself was great, nice rooms with private bathrooms, lots of room for all 6 of us. They have a nice new trampoline on the front. (Elizabeth delivers cocktails of your choice while you relax and take in the beauty of the islands). We enjoyed learning more about sailing, they are both good about explaining what they were doing. Elizabeth is fun to watch, she certainly is very good at what she does. Chris is a great captain. They are a great team.
Chris just got a new dingy which is very nice.
We were able to make it all the way to The Baths. We had a great day! Chris and Elizabeth hiked with us, Chris our "tour guide" inserting his humorous facts, as Elizabeth took pictures for us along the way. We had lunch at the Top of the Rock, amazing view!
That evening we had drinks at Saba Rock, big fun! Beautiful location/view.
The food they made us was exceptional! As was the presentation. Rivaled any Restuarant we ate at in St John. Amazing fish tacos, gourmet burgers, chicken enchiladas (best I have had!) family recipe I hope to get ahold of! We loved waking up every morning to the beautiful scenery, upbeat happy people and Chris driving us to our next adventure. Elizabeth had music playing and was cooking breakfast. French toast is so good! It was all good!!
Cocktails were great too. During the day as we sailed Elizabeth was great at playing the music, making us feel relaxed and sharing things along the way. She even took care of our friend who wasn't feeling well.
We also enjoyed the evenings chilling on the boat, listening to music and sharing stories.
Chris and Elizabeth are a lot of fun to hang with. They are both fun, interesting, calm, talented and just all around awesome people.
Loved the food, boat, crew, excursions, service.
We will definitely be sailing with them again!
Our family sailed with Kindred Spirit over spring break and it was the BEST family vacation we’ve ever taken! Our kids ages 16, 14 and 10 want us to book already for next year...I don’t think they will ever want to stay on land again! I can’t say enough how awesome Elizabeth and Kara were! We found out the week before our trip that Chris had to go home for a family emergency and that Kara would be our captain. I was a little bummed because we had heard such great things about Chris. But there was no reason to worry, Kara was a very competent captain and really fun! I appreciate Chris and Elizabeth making sure we were in good hands when Chris wasn’t able to be there. And Elizabeth…what can I say…she made the trip for me! As a mom, even on vacation I find myself shopping, cooking, and cleaning up as we usually stay in rented houses or villas. To have someone to do all that, as well as being our private tour guide, was a real luxury! My teenage daughter even remarked how nice it was to have me truly relaxed and enjoying myself. The highlights of the trip: 1) THE FOOD: Elizabeth is an amazing cook! You’ll be amazed of what comes out of her little kitchen. Get the provisioning package! Grocery shopping in the BVI is difficult and part of this vacation is not having to worry about that. Elizabeth will take care of everything for you and it’s worth every penny! 2) THE SNORKELING: We been to the BVI many times but have never experienced snorkeling like we did this trip. Elizabeth knows all the great spots...we saw rays, eels, a nurse shark, and to many giant sea turtles to count! 3) THE SERVICE: Elizabeth and Kara were always on top of things! They wouldn’t even allow us to carry our bags, hang up towels, etc. The boat was spotless! Drinks and snacks were offered all the time. 4) THE PROFESSIONALISM: Not everything went according to plan…there was a crazy North swell that kept us from going to some of the places we wanted to visit. They took great care to keep us on the southern side of the islands where it was calmest. When they didn’t think we should go somewhere because of the conditions, Elizabeth came up with some amazing alternatives. I can't say enough about the Kindred Spirit! Looking forward to coming back (and meeting Chris) next year!!
