Caribbean Cottage - Ocean Front Secluded Bungalow with Private Courtyard
PERFECT PRIVACY for your HONEYMOON, ANNIVERSARY, or ROMANTIC RETREAT!!!
Wake up each morning to the sun rising over the Caribbean Sea right outside your bedroom window and let the sea lull you to sleep each night.
This new, private, beach house offers all the comforts of your own home along with access to the beach. This one bedroom house with a king-size bed boasts a complete kitchen with everything you need for cooking your own meals if you choose to do so. Dining area, living room and bedroom with TV/DVD (for DVDs only, no television service), air conditioning, full bathroom with shower, and an eco-landscaped private front courtyard.
Take long leisurely walks along the shore and the cliffs of Punta Sur, search for shells, soak up the sun, take a dip in the Caribbean sea, sleep in, read a long book, work on a puzzle, or watch a favorite DVD while you let yourself relax and drop out of the world for a while. And it's only a short drive to the sandy Northern Beaches and fun shops and great restaurants in town.
Isla Mujeres is approximately 5 miles long by 1/2 mile wide and Margaritaville Beach House is about 1 mile from the southern tip of the island and about 3 1/2 miles from the downtown area and North Beach which is the popular beach for tanning and swimming. This is a very laid back island and Margaritaville is in a secluded, beautiful location, with only 1 neighbour (to the south) for over a mile. If you are looking for a place to kick back and get away from the world, you can find that here. The sand is white and the water is absolutely blue.
For seclusion, privacy, location, view, and reasonable rates, you cannot beat Margaritaville!

'What a wonderful time we had in Isla! Your home is magnificent. Sleeping to the sound of the ocean waves lapping on the rocks was a real treat and sunrise was spectacular! I hope we can return to Margaritaville soon.'
'After we walked in and viewed the Caribbean from both the living and bedroom's 6 foot sliding glass doors, we were indeed in heaven. The courtyard was very impressive and so quiet and private. Go to the back of the house to enjoy the crashing waves and ocean breeze while sitting on the tiered patio. We want to keep this a secret but.... It is so peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle yet a short distance from the Colonias or even Centro for your need for great dining, fishing, boating and people watching. Margaritaville is definitely a simple yet tranquil place to reside for a romantic getaway. We intend to come back year after year. We cannot wait to come back and stay!!!'
'We spent the most relaxing 4 weeks in this beautiful, comfortable, well-equipped casa. Caretakers are very attentive and friendly. Sitting in the courtyard or seaside were equally relaxing and entertaining. Lots of flora and fauna. Safe, clean, and very private. Thank you for sharing with us. We love Isla Mujeres.'
'We enjoyed your house very much. You have done such a wonderful job decorating. It was one of the best vacations I have ever had. So relaxing. I plan on returning some day.'
'I think this was the best time I've ever had on Isla. Thanks so much for the accommodations. It really made the trip.'

We are Real Estate Agents in Alberta, Canada and are excited to own Margaritaville Beach House and to be able to share it with others seeking peace, quiet and relaxation on the beach!
Monica Quintos purchased this bungalow in 2010
We visted Isla Mujeres for the first time in 2006 during our Vacation in Cancun. We loved that it was only a 20 minute ferry ride from Cancun, but still so quiet and relaxed. When we visted again in 2009 and saw that Margaritaville was For Sale, we could not resist purchasing our own piece of paradise! It is in such a wonderful location and is in great condition with beautiful decor, and we could not be happier with our Beach House!
Margaritaville is the perfect retreat for any individual or couple that is seeking peace, quiet and relaxation away from all the daily routines and stresses. It is an amazing place to kick back, relax, and be as 'natural' as you like because the house and large courtyard are very private. With such a great location, view, and price, you will be so happy that you chose Margaritaville Beach House!
This was our seventh year at the house. We only get two weeks in March to be there and the time flies so fast. It's home to us now. Perfectly comfortable and happy. We so enjoy the walking trail to Punta Sur and traveled it almost every day. What views! In fact we walk many places at that end of the island. There are many fine restaurants in Colonia La Gloria and the area. Don't miss Limon, Mango Café, Playa Lancheros, Capitan Dulche, Caribbean Brisas, La Bruja and so many others. We enjoy the neighborhood and all the local people there. We've made so many local friends on Isla and enjoy our yearly visits with them. The house has a such a feeling of quiet and isolation even though the area is busy with tourist traffic on the main road. Inside the courtyard and outside on the patio, you can't even hear anything but the ocean and the birds. The house is very clean and comfortable with all the conveniences you'll need. If you're nature lovers and enjoy peace and quiet, this is the place. We've already booked for 2017.
We want to be measured in our comments because you are right Margaritaville Beach House is a beautiful little bungalow perched just above the shore on Isla Mejeures' open side. We loved the crashing waves and the great walks along the shore. It is in many ways a perfect and romantic getaway - but all that was tempered by some disappointments about both the island itself and the Margaritaville Beach House. Let me explain ...
We arrived at night with a vague understanding of where the beach house was ... secured a taxi, asked an English speaking taxi attendant to confirm the price before we got in and was told $400 pesos .... not knowing much better and trusting the experience we were taken to Margaritaville Beach House. You will know my point already - we were played for fools and lied to and as a first experience on Isla it was not an easy one to forget. We only learned later through honest taxi drivers that we should have been charged 40 pesos, not 400!
Perhaps it would help to avoid that kind of 'bad impression' by requiring taxis to post a rate schedule or failing that put a schedule online o an FAQ for visitors. It is a story we will tell about visiting Isla and give people pause about visiting your beautiful island.
The beach house is special but it was disappointing when the toilet seat broke (someone had used a light glue to secure it but it was never going to stay secure). However something we could 'work around' - not so much, when the the water ran dry - for two days. We found it was a plumbing issue and managed a work around for that - but no water for toilet, shower or cleaning dishes. We were of course given a cell phone with the local number for the manager. I could not get through to the manager so left a message. She never called back nor did she drop in to see all was satisfactory - and then to add salt to that irritation - that phone went dead and would not accept a charge so became unusable.
And then the final straw: We had been told with great enthusiasm about the incredible frontage of the Caribbean at Margaritaville Beach House - we had not been told that Margaritaville Beach House backs onto the island's garbage dump. When the wind changed the smell was awful.
There is one last observation that may feel unfair to you - I don't mean it to be - but the island is filthy with garbage strewn everywhere - it affected our visit to your island.
So I'm sorry to be so candid but I say all this hoping you trust it to be helpful. Tony
There are more or less no words, which will explane this absolute perfect Place to stay. We will agree with all the positive Feedbacks, you will read here. Hope to come back to this loveley Place.
We stayed at Margaritaville for a week in August and though the house itself was very cute and the owners are absolutely great to work with, I would not stay here again due to the awful, unbearable smell that came from the island dump and water sanitation station located directly across the street. We had to keep all of the doors and windows closed and couldn't lounge around outside because the smell was so awful.
The sunrises in the morning were absolutely stunning and the house was well stocked with books movies and other supplies.
A few other issues just to be forewarned of before you go:
1) The safe information we were given didn't work with the safe that was in the house - so make sure you get the most up to date information.
2) You have to bring a laptop to use the Wifi - which means that you cell phone or tablets will not suffice (it is a USB stick).
What a perfect place to spend our anniversary. With it being our first trip to Isla Mujeres, we were debating whether to stay in town or not. It was the best decision to stay at Margaritaville. The south end of the island is peaceful, yet within easy access to all. We rented a golf cart for the week, which made it great to zip around. The house was perfect for us. Clean and comfortable - and waking up to the the beautiful sunrise each morning - stunning! Having access to the beach directly out the back door was great, we swam in the ocean every day. Because if the rocky coast, beach booties were helpful. We even made friends with the local Iguanas. Thanks for a memorable time. Can't wait to come back!
You can't beat the location of this house. Quiet away from centro yet close enough for a golf cart ride to everything. You don't need a/c unless a tropical storm hits. The breeze is great even at 90 plus. The house had everything we needed. This was my 6th time on Isla and I prefer the south end more like Mexico. Centro is trying to be too Americanized for me hoping that never completely happens. New renters watch for Stumpy out back the 3 footed iguana. I think he enjoys any extra scraps you may have. He is a trooper and weathered the storm with me!!
