Beautiful property in the most stunning location. This property are what dreams are made off.
We are a party of 7 adults. We live in different parts of the uk and also France and wanted a calm environment in which to relax in as a family. Considering the huge pool to the very well equiped outside kitchen, the spectaucular views and the sheer amount of space this property certainly did not disappoint. The property provides a wonderful insight into 'the real rural France'. But with a modern twist. The host is so pleasant and kind presenting wine, fresh eggs and even an homemade gateux, whilst also being non-intrusive. The photos don't do this property justice so if you want to escape the rat race for a while then this is definately the place to go, you wont regret it.
Thank you Norbert and Martine for making us feel very welcome and helping us to celebrate a 60th birthday in style and comfort with family and friends. This is a wonderful area in old fashioned France. Your property is stunning with a beautiful garden, amazing views of the countryside and the dark sky full of stars, the peace and quiet, and your collection of friendly pets. The outdoor kitchen by the pool is a real bonus with its barbecue and fridge. The pool is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the view. There is so much to see and do locally with the wonderfully restored bastides. We would certainly recommend your property and again we thank you for your welcome and kindness.
Thank you Norbert and Martine for our wonderful time in France. We feel like we have come to paradise . We love the beautiful garden , the panoramic view of the French countryside and the big sky, the peaceful silence, and the elegantly furnished house. The summer kitchen by the pool has a beautiful fireplace. The pool is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the view. We like to cycle and find new routes each time we come. There is so much to see and do-archeology sites, abbeys, castles, bastides and lovely markets. There is also many things to do on the property and great walking trails in all directions nearby. We never get tired of coming here!! Again we thank you for your welcome and your kindness on our visits as you have made our visits very special!
We are a mature couple who stayed for a week with another couple, before moving on to the Med coast. We have often visited St Avit Seneiur and the area. If you love France, French property and French people this place is for you. A stunning location with expansive, immaculate and interesting gardens and land. HUGE accommodation with facilities. Everything one could need in the kitchen with an equally well equipped, poolside French kitchen. Martine and Norbert are there if you need them. So quiet, one can just hear the bells of St Avit Senieur abbey over the valley, a perfect backdrop for the peacock in the garden. (One should visit Chez Cathy and Dennis in St Avit, 5 ins drive away. A wonderful eating place.) La Brande is somewhere I can recommend to anyone - but please leave us space to return. John and Carol, Lancashire
A beautiful country retreat
Very beautiful and peaceful. The views are incredible and the french old world charm is special. I would highly recommend it (have been back 3 times). Great features as well: outdoor cooking hut, beautiful pool, large fields surrounding property and within driving distance to some of the worlds best vineyards.
A lovely escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. It has authentic old world elegance, from the sculpted topiary bushes to the luxury antique furnishings. The animals (chickens, peacocks, dogs and cats), the garden and spacious "big sky" views make this a wonderful place to relax and rejuvenate. The lovely outdoor kitchen near the pool is perfect for enjoying the decadently warm summer evenings. It's rural, but not far from convenience. A short car trip takes you to a multitude of picturesque bastides and villages. Interesting historic sites abound in this region side by side beautifully tended homes and farms. The cycling is fabulous- no traffic, well kept and marked roads, and a variety of terrain to interest cyclists of all abilities. I continue to return to this wonderful place, and each time feel like I've come home. I highly recommend this villa for couples or families alike.
