About Greg Gadd
I grew up in Connecticut, and moved to the Big Island of Hawaii over 35 years ago. I custom designed and built this home for myself in 2005. In the recent years I have been doing some globe-trotting and have been renting out my home to vacationers and adventure seekers from all over the world.
Why Greg Gadd chose Laupāhoehoe
I have called this area home for the past 15 years. It is tranquil, secluded, full of things to do, and generally has the best weather on the island.
What makes this Estate unique
The Kilau river runs right through the property with a large swimming hole. Hike up the river for less than a quarter of a mile and find a seasonal 25 foot waterfall. Walk around the property to see horses, and pick avocados and bananas from the properties trees. There is also a garden!

Beautiful location, wonderful home!
Outstanding visit, everything we needed, estate was wonderful and peaceful. Plenty of space and entertainment for the whole family. Love this natural, off the grid home! Swimming hole and waterfall were fabulous. Caretaker was so kind and attentive with lots of great information on the local area. Would love to stay again!
Couldn't have been more perfect
We will be coming back. An amazing space in an amazing place. We are hard pressed to find anything to criticize. For us, it was perfect. Thank you!
Nothing short of fabulous!
Our family of 8 used this beautiful home as our base as we explored the Big Island. The house was more than spacious enough for a couple with a baby, a set of grandparents, and 2 teenage boys & myself. Greg was a generous & thoughtful host, equipping us with a high chair when requested. The house had everything we needed. It is not in town, but we didn't mind driving into Hilo or across to Kuna for our daily adventures. This side of the island has lots to see and do, but if we weren't too energetic, the house was a great place to hang out.
A place for renewal at this ethereal compound
A place for renewal at this Ethereal compound on 25 acres over looking the limitless horizon of the Pacific Ocean.
Great place for family or group meetings in Laupahoehoe Hawaii 20 minutes from farmer's market in Hilo
All fine finishes compliment the feeling of this zen experience.
Lovely home, magical land!
Our group greatly enjoyed this beautiful space for our retreat. The rooms are thoughtfully appointed and very clean, we had everything that we needed along some nice touches of beauty. The bananas from the grounds and the on-property swimming hole were well-liked additions. Very quite, peaceful and an excellent location. We were close to waterfalls, sacred sites, and beaches. The owner was kind and fantastic to work with.
