Bedrooms 3
Space 1,291 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 7 nights

About the property

Calm and authenticity, in the Dordogne, the Black Perigord.

Calm and independence in Pinsac, in Quercy-Périgord, between Sarlat and Rocamadour: authentic farmhouse built in 1856 in white stone Lot, renovated in 2006 in the respect of tradition, with its pigeon, its old beams and inglenook fireplace, protected his court, his little barn, the space of the old farm buildings and the garden of 2500 m2 opened on the lashes of the Dordogne.

Near the chapel of the thirteenth century, in the heart of the hamlet preserved Terregaye, without feeling isolated, enjoy tranquility and absolute independence: idleness, bowling or table tennis at the shelter in case of bad weather.

And if the evening is a little chilly, wood is provided for a fire in the fireplace.

Terregaye is an ideal starting point for walks, bike or car.

You can easily access the river for swimming, the Causse for hiking on the cliffs, like the prestigious sites of the Haut-Quercy and Perigord Black.

ENVIRONMENT: Terregaye, the white stone houses flanked by a corner loft, huddled around its former chapel of the thirteenth century.

The Dordogne flows below the village, among hills and walnut orchards. Link between Périgord and Quercy where she carved her most beautiful cliffs, designed its finest meanders, it is one of the clearest rivers in Europe. The ping of Pinsac, bordering the Natural Park of the Quercy, is classified Natura 2000 refuge for kingfisher, heron, peregrine falcon, hawk, black kites, otters and muskrats.

The cliffs, 150 m. above the river, you discover villages, castles Lanzac, Belcastel and La Treyne, the Causse de Rocamadour and even the Cantal Mountains.

The valley of the Dordogne, ranked Grand Site Midi-Pyrenees, Land of Art and History, has been listed by UNESCO, 11 July 2012, World Biosphere Reserve.

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS: Terregaye is very well located near the prestigious sites of the Haut-Quercy and Perigord Black, beautiful towns of art and history as well as many villages classified as "most beautiful villages in France". The austere landscape of the plateau cut by canyons and valleys are particularly endearing.

Among the most notable:

- The sanctuary city of Rocamadour, ranked Grand Site Midi-Pyrenees, 15 km;

- The cities of art and history Figeac, Cahors and of course Sarlat, 30 km, known for the density of historical monuments, its market, its summer activities.

- The most beautiful villages in France "in the Lot Collonges la Rouge, Autoire, Carennac, Loubressac Capdenac High, Cardaillac, and of course Saint Cirq elected favorite French village in 2012 ...

and Dordogne: Beynac, Domme, La Roque-Gageac, Castelnaud, Belvès Saint Amand de Coly, Saint Léon sur Vézère ...

- The many medieval castles or elegant Renaissance castles such as Beynac, Castelnaud in Dordogne 30 km, Belcastel and La Treyne 5 minutes, or Montal Castelnaud-Bretenoux in Lot.

- Caves with concretions: Lacave, 5 minutes, Padirac, unique in Europe, 40 minutes,

- Decorated caves Lot: Cougnac, Pech Merle, ...

- The prehistoric sites of the Vézère Valley, listed as World Heritage: Les Eyzies, Lascaux ...

- The beautiful gardens of Eyrignac and Marqueyssac.

The valley of the Dordogne, ranked Grand Site Midi-Pyrenees, Land of Art and History, has been listed by UNESCO, 11 July 2012, World Biosphere Reserve.

Beautiful hikes by the peaks and prehistoric shelters in the cliffs, or a forest trail overlooking the Dordogne, Château de la Treyne the pretty isolated hamlet of Bast dominated by its castle.

Beach Terregaye invitation to bathe facing Chateau de Lanzac, perched on a rock.

We must discover the hidden fortified mills in the canyons of Ouysse and Alzou, as extraordinary Moulin du Sault, embedded in a wild site.

The descent of the Dordogne in a canoe is beautiful, hugging the cliffs pitted with caves. Camping Pinsac, a shuttle will take you to the starting point in Saint-Sozy. Expect swimming and picnicking on a beach.

A Rocamadour, better visit the shrines in the morning; afternoon, the Préhistoparc or the monkey forest for children, or the beautiful 2 hour hike to the mill of Jump in the Alzou canyon.

The Rocamadour is illuminated in the evening.

In Sarlat also visit preferably in the morning and enjoy the afternoon with a refreshing swim in the Dordogne, before the night walk in the bustling city by the street musicians, jugglers and acrobats.

And to give strength and courage to the holiday: at Bougayrou near Lacave, authentic cuisine to Calvel-farmhouse (mic, preserved goose, potato pancake with boletus).

Welcome to Terregaye!

Vacances dépaysantes

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5
