7 Bedroom, 7 Bath Luxury Home On 20 Acres Above Georgetown Lake In Sw Montan
Karyn Byhre Hansen
Why Karyn Byhre Hansen chose Anaconda
The pristine lakes, streams, and creeks are such a pleasure for all water activities, all types of fishing, and wildlife viewing. The spectacular wildlife of the area includes bald and golden eagles, moose, bear, mountain lion and every small critter you can name. We just love seeing them all. The historic mining communities of Philipsburg and Anaconda offer all kinds of pleasure all year round. Summer events in both communities give you that home town feel that so many of the larger cities cannot offer. People are friendly and the events are family oriented. Golfing at a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course, sapphire mining, the hand-dipped chocolates and fresh-made salt water taffy at 'The World's Greatest Candy Store,' Montana's best barbecue, ghost towns, parades, art fairs, live theater, Shakespeare in the Park, Art in the Park, historic tours, the homecomings, and so much more make this place so very special. Watching the ice fishing, as well as the snow and kite boarding on Georgetown Lake in winter is lots of fun. One of the best ski resorts in Montana, Discovery Ski Area, is just around a bend or two in the road. In summer, there are sail boats, jet skis, kayaking families, campers, and plenty of fishing boats on the lake. The views from Forest Edge Inn lets you take it all in. We are close enough to everything that any season of the year is filled with fun and activities.
What makes this House unique
The spectacular 360° views from the property, the close proximity to all sorts of activities, and the sheer beauty of Georgetown Lake stop you in your tracks. The views to the west of pastoral lands and distant mountains, the views to the south and east of snow capped mountain grandeur, and the views to the north of Discovery Ski Area all make this property the place to stay for anyone's vacation. The sunsets and sunrises take your breath away. The proximity to any activity you can name in a pristine environment makes this property the only place to choose for a vacation of fun and adventure. Describing Georgetown Lake here seems so inadequate. Pictures do not do it justice. The beauty is surreal almost. The lake is a large jewel in the crown of Montana. It is the place to be for beauty, serenity, and peaceful reflection.

Beautiful in every way
Forest edge was lively and spacious. It was so nice that we were allowed to bring our well mannered pups to our lovely weekend. The kitchen is fabulous and the views are stunning.
Thank you. We are so happy you enjoyed our vacation home and hope you will consider the Forest Edge Inn in the future. Sara P.
Nice place lots of room
We visited with another family for a snowmobile vacation.
We had plenty of room for 9 people. We liked that we could snowmobile right from the property.
5 stars for us
The perfect house for a family reunion!
I can't say enough about Forest Edge Inn. We had a family reunion in Philipsburg with family from California, N. Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Texas and more. The house had 7 bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. The kitchen was beautiful and spacious with 2 dishwashers, 2 coffee pots and alot of room for prepping meals. The back deck was huge and had an awesome view. We saw deer and moose passing through in the evening. My husband and I had the honeymoon suite. We sat out on the balcony of our room and drank coffee every morning. It was so peaceful and serene. The house was only 25 minutes to Philipsburg and a short drive to Georgetown Lake. Everyone enjoyed the house. It was perfect! Highly recommend this place!
Breath Taking View
This property worked perfectly for our family reunion of 14 people. Extremely spacious and it was great with everyone having their own bathroom. Although the kitchen space is closed off, it was spacious enough to have multiple people in there cooking. Only downfall is there is no air conditioning, but was not that big of deal when we were there since the temperature wasn't too hot. I would definitely stay here again.
It was perfect for our extended family to get together, very clean!
This VROB was perfect for our extended family! Each bedroom had it’s own bathroom not including the shared one for the family suite, it was a very clean and a nice home to stay in, very close to the lake but very peaceful setting.
Great multi-family home
Great rooms with separate bathrooms and amazing views! House had everything for a lovely vacation getaway!
The Flint Creek Valley abounds with summer activities for family and friends to enjoy. Whether you prefer hiking or biking over the old trails and roads through beautiful mountains and historic ghost towns, screening for sapphires indoors or outdoors, scenic driving tours, strolling along in historic downtown, fishing blue ribbon trout creeks and lakes or hunting the mountains, Granite County is the place to explore. Fascinating sites, interesting rock formations, and wonderful views meet the eye everywhere you go.
In addition to special events planned for most weekends of the summer, summertime offers all visitors the chance to relax and enjoy themselves. We invite everyone to visit the Granite County Museum, peruse the shops in Philipsburg or Anaconda to pick up that special gift or necessity, screen (mine) for sapphires, enjoy live theater productions at the Opera House Theater or movies in the historic Washoe Theater, concerts at St.Timothy's Memorial Chapel high above Georgetown Lake, and follow Philipsburg's Historic Walking Tour through the Philipsburg Historic District.
Whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner, local eateries fill, quench and refresh travelers with fresh-brewed beer from the microbrewery and tavern fare, BBQ, breakfast , burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, old world-style pizza, steaks, and seafood. To top off all the great food, ice cream from an old-fashioned soda fountain and chocolates from the “World’s Greatest Candy Store” can fix any sweet tooth.
Stay awhile in comfortable rooms and suites at hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, vacation house rentals, mountain cabin rentals, or a resort. For those seeking the fresh air of the great outdoors, RV parks and campgrounds surround Philipsburg, Maxville, and Drummond.
Philipsburg is right at the middle of the Pintler Veterans Memorial Scenic Highway - Montana Highway 1. Sightseers exiting off Interstate 90 in Drummond first enjoy the rolling ranch country near Hall and later, the creek side, canyon drive through historic Maxville, over Willow and Boulder Creeks. Closer to Philipsburg, the Flint Creek Valley opens wide, framed with majestic views of the high alpine Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness, soft ridges of the John Long Mountains, and Flint Creek. Further south of Philipsburg, the two-lane highway climbs Flint Creek Pass flanked by three billion year old exposed rock walls topping out at Georgetown and Silver Lakes. Following a fabulous lakeside drive framed by the magnificent Pintler Mountain Range, the scenic drive descends through beautiful mountains (watch out for the Bighorn sheep) to Anaconda and then Interstate 90 once again.
Literally hundreds of miles of roads and trails crisscross Granite County. Old mining and logging roads make for a four-wheeler and ATV paradise. Mountain tracks traverse past multiple ghost towns and historic mining claims spread throughout the region. Turn your wheels immediately east of ‘The Burg’ to take the Philipsburg Mining District Tour. Behold stunning vistas, hillsides and meadows just made for wildlife viewing, and high elevation lakes and streams brimming with trout. When four-wheeling, riding ATVs, hiking or biking, please always stay on established roads and trails. Respect both private and public property as well as the abundant wildlife in the area―bears, mountain lions, moose, elk, Bighorn sheep, and more.
