We currently live in Portsmouth and enjoy traveling with our 3 small children to visit family and friends. We constantly remind ourselves that we live in this wonderful destination location
Ben and Kristin Otis purchased this house in 2006
This location is amazing, 1 block from the Farmer's Market on the weekend, 1+ block from the south mill pond- dog park, playground, tennis and basketball courts, public library, 0.4 miles from market square, a leisurely walk, located on a dead end quiet street, you are an easy walk back from downtown with a quiet, friendly neighborhood.
Farmers porch on the front overlooking the street, semiprivate back patio with grill.
What a great place to stay! The location is fantastic; very close to the center of Portsmouth. The house was comfortable and clean. What a great option for a vacation!
Excellent experience, great location within walking distance to down town.
Perfect for our family! Owners extremely nice and easy to deal wth😊
We were two families with 3 kids and this house was the PERFECT accommodation for us. There was more than enough room for all of us, the kids especially loved the playroom filled with toys, and the adults really loved the character. We about a block away from the playground and downtown Portsmouth was also a manageable walk with 3 kids under 7. The owners were incredibly responsive during the booking process, giving us excellent area recommendations for our family and leaving out their pack and play and high chair for our youngest guest. They even texted the first evening to make sure everything was ok and reminding us about the delightful Saturday morning farmers' market which was also only 1 block away (something that we had inquired about in our first contact). The neighborhood was very family-friendly, and the neighbors even shared some of their sporting equipment with our kids. Portsmouth was very charming, with a ton of great shops and restaurants. Overall a really great experience! We would do it again in a heartbeat.
I stayed at this house for a girls weekend with a group of friends and it was perfect! There were 9 of us and the house had plenty of room for us all to be comfortable. The sleeping arrangements were great, spread out across the top two floors, and there was plenty of room on the first floor for us to all eat meals and hang out together. The house is also in a very convenient location so it was easy to walk to downtown Portsmouth. Plus, Ben and Kristin were very helpful throughout the entire booking process, answering any questions and providing helpful materials when we arrived about things to do in Portsmouth. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to stay in Portsmouth!
A few of my friends and I stayed at this house for a girls weekend and truly enjoyed it! The house was lovely, provided ample room and was in a great location. We came up right after a blizzard, so we were not able to walk to downtown, but in any other circumstance you definitely could. The owners are extremely nice and easy to work with! I would absolutely recommend staying at this place! :)
My friends and I, a bunch of early 30 somethings, visited Portsmouth for Columbus weekend and were very pleased with our choice in accommodation. The location of the property is excellent: within an easy 5 minutes walking distance from downtown, located in a quiet neighborhood, and offers a great space to grill and enjoy the outdoors. In terms of the property, there was more than enough room for us to spread out, the house was very clean (a BIG plus). Actually, classifying this place as a property doesn't do this place justice: it feels very much like a home, which gives it a very unique charm. The fifth star, however, was truly earned based on the extra effort that Ben and Kristin put into making sure that we enjoyed our stay. Everything from connecting to wifi to “how to access downtown Portsmouth by foot” was clearly laid out. They even recommended and left out a few games for our party to enjoy during our stay – it’s the little things that make a stay truly memorable. With regards to recommendations, this property has a unique feature in that I’d recommend it to both big families and groups of friends alike. Without a doubt, I’d rent from them again, and have recommended their property to my friends and family.
