Overall nice but a little out of the way
The majority of my experience here was good. Upon arrival, we were permitted to drop our luggage off early which was great because we landed relatively early (around 9:30am). We were given lots of information about Rome and how to obtain Metro tickets. We were also shown the two buses in front of the house. There is no subway station immediately outside the apartment. Since we were heading in the same direction as the assistant/translator, her and her husband gave us a ride into town. Unbelievably kind.
The problems we encountered were first running out of toilet paper. We expressed this over the VRBO app but we never got a response. We then bought our own only to come home and realize some had been left. If there had been a response, we wouldn't have had to buy any. We also had a problem getting into the apartment the first evening. The key was a little tricky. Since the owner does not speak English, we were really left to figure it out which was frustrating after a day of travel and being awake almost 26 hours.
If you aren't used to public transportation or if you don't bring your own car, this might not be the place for you. It isn't within walking distance of any of the major attractions and in the evening it sometimes took almost an hour to get home.
Overall though, it is an adequate place for the price. It feels like a safe area with a bed and kitchen appliances. The shower is a little small but everything works just fine.
Lovely accomodation .
Had just what we needed for a happy stay
Small but clean rooms. The AC was not strong enough to cool the apt., the bedrooms were always uncomfortable. There was absolutely no paper goods at all, in the middle of the night we realized it when we had no toilet paper, paper towels or tissues. The shower was weak and intermittently hot and cold. The best thing about the place was he cleanliness. Bus was readily available to get into Rome easily. The underground train was down while we were there, but they had extra bus lines to make up for it. We took the taxi a bunch of times back to the apt. and 1/2 of them had trouble finding the place.
Good evening I'm sorry that on some things you have not been well, air conditioning has never complained to anyone and neither the fact that the rooms are uncomfortable, they are always happy and the house really likes the tourists. For bed linen and towels we provided all linens and towels. We apologize for the toilet paper surely was a forgetfulness of the housekeeping woman. We much keep our customers happy and we try to do their best to welcome you in the best way.
Very nice apartment for a reasonable price.
Very nice apartment for a reasonable price. The bus stop was a short walk from the apartment. The bus stopped at a subway station and from there the whole of Rome was at your disposal. On the morning we left, due to a misunderstanding with our Taxi, the Taxi did not show up. We called the person in charge of the apartment and in no time she solved our problem. I highly recommend this apartment.
Good location, great apartment.
We stayed here for only three nights and found the accommodation to be clean, well maintained and classy. The owners were attentive and catered well for our needs. Please be advised that if you arrive with a car you need to be very vigilant as with all places. We had our car broken into in the car park here. This is no detriment to the apartment, but as with all things, be on your guard.
Overall we we're extremely happy with our accommodation in Rome and would definitely return there again.
Comfortable apartment, outstanding hospitality
My family enjoyed two stays at Maison Laura in June, each for a few days. The apartment is well equipped, including with a washing machine - a great benefit! The location is close to bus lines for getting into central Rome (about 15 minutes).
Mario was a wonderful host. We particularly appreciated the transportation he provided to and from the airport - especially on those days when we arrived early (6am!) or had to catch an early flight. He was flexible and accommodating and his fee is much less than taking a taxi.
