Born in the 'Vieille Ville' (Old Town), I am just fond of my city and the marvellous nature around it, the lake, the mountains, my neighbourhood, its peculiar atmosphere, the canals and the historical charm emanating from it all.
I am an intense mountain-skier in winter. In summer I treat myself with long trekking routes here and away and I enjoy the lake's delicious water and boat-fishing in the early hours of the day.. And at all seasons and in all weathers I enjoy the true pleasure of living in this beautiful, privileged and reffined place.

In the building and neighbourhood of my young days I renovated with respect this unique studio-flat in this historic building for you to enjoy from the inside the atmosphere of the 'Vielle ville' (old town), of the 'Porte Sainte Claire' whose doors used to guard the entrance to the fortified city and of which we can still see the sizeable hinges under the arch at the bottom of the building...
Ideally located flat to fully enjoy from the inside the beauty, the historical charm, the animation and pleasures of the Vieille Ville.
Strolling along the Sainte Claire street, along the canal or under the arches towards the lake, or walking up to the castle with its views over the old town, you will always be greeted by historic curiosities set against a close and natural background of lake and mountains that await the more adventurous.
I loved my stay at the little studio on the square of Saint Clare. It's close to everything touristy. It was close to the life of the old town. The windows are sound proof so you could get to sleep when you wanted. It's small but cosy - A Loutrec-ish holiday! I loved it.

View from the room is very nice. Really appreciated the room with double vitrage. You find everything near by, good boulangerie, restos, bars or sport shop. Apartment is clean, luminous, functional, cosy, centrally located and it has everything you need. Very much enjoyed the stay there. Owner of the appart is very nice and helpful, even with my very last minute rental request. Upon arrival at late night, I got confused by the keys to the apartment as there were two doors once you're in the building (main and the apartment door, and I did not know that) but the owner helped me quickly by SMS.
I wished that there were stock of toilet amenities because it was a bit short for me. Also I found that the price of my stay (37.5/night) was a bit expensive than I imagined compared to weekly rate(27.14/night). Two small things I found to be a little negative.
Overall, excellent apartment with the great apart owner, I recommend to anyone who visit Annecy. I myself would definitely go back to his apartment for next visit in Annecy without hesitation.
We really loved staying here in Annecy. A small cozy place in the perfect location. Will choose to come back here if in annecy again.
"I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the studio; it is centrally located, close to the train and coach station and to the lake; the bars, restaurants cafes, bakeries are just around.There is also a supermarket within walking distance (MONOPRIX). The market with fresh fruit, veg and cheese is held twice a week on the main street. The studio is located on the third floor(no lift)and the view at the mountains and the old town is truelly beautiful. It will be convenient to have a microwave in the flat and some bigger towels. Overall, highly recommended."
"It was fun being part of the village courtyard and experiencing the market stalls three times a week and the general buzz of the community. Everything we needed was close by including the train and we enjoyed eating out in the little restaurants in the village. It was exactly as it was described in Holelidays and was very comefortable, even the sofa bed was great. If I were going back to Annecy I would love to stay here again and would recommend it to any of our friends as a good experience. Philippe was there when we arrived and departed and we had his contact details which gave us a sense of security. He spoke very good english and there was no problem with communicating.
Our visit and stay in Annecy reinforced that Annecy is a great tourist destination and we continue to encourage our friends in Australia and France to take in its beauty and charm."

If driving, exit the A41 motorway at 'Annecy Sud', follow 'Albertville', then 'Centre Ville' and 'Parking Sainte Claire' (paying underground carpark, first half-hour free, handy for luggage).
Free parking from 7pm to 9am 100 metres from the flat (Rue de la Gare, Faubourg des Balmettes north part).
Free parking 24/7 : 300 metres from the flat (Chemin de la Prairie, Faubourg des Balmettes south part, the area around 'Intermarché' supermarket).
Skiing at La Clusaz, Grand-Bornand or Semnoz by bus or car (40 minutes). Takamaka Adventure Sport office 100 metres from the flat.
