Very peaceful.Ideally located : Our neighborhood is very lively and offers the advantage of being really in the heart of Paris: 2 minutes walk from the Canal Saint Martin (pedestrian area on weekends, trendy restaurants, gardens) and Republic (Square du Temple, market Enfants Rouges with sunny terraces). Lively on Sundays, with all amenities including 3 supermarkets within 2min walk open 7/7.
The apartment is located in the hip 11ème arrondissement, casually known as Bastille, just minutes walk from the urban-chic bars, eateries and bohemian vibe of the Oberkampf.
The apartment is well placed with markets, shops and restaurants within walking distance. Well furnished with everything you need for a pleasant stay.
Cultural spots in the area include the Place de la Bastille, the new Bastille Opera house, the Edith Piaf museum, or the hugely popular Père Lachaise cemetery, the Pompidou center.
The nearby pretty Parc de Belleville is perfect for picnicking with a view to Montmartre, or sample the local produce from the open-air markets around these charming streets.
My building is on a very pretty paved yard. Very calms, it is also sunny because opposite are moved back and green (vine planted on the frontages). Through the window you little houses in the courtyard. The sight is sympathetic nerve because it dominates of the very picturesque cityhouses.
The house has free Internet acces wi-fi ADSL.
Our first trip to Paris and we were very happy to be staying in this little gem of an apartment. Cozy, clean with all the amenities - perfect for the two of us. we were close to wonderful patisseries, terraces, market and metro stops - a great location. Vivian is a lovely person, available to answer any questions and making us feel very welcome. We highly recommend this apartment .
Merci beaucoup Vivian....
We are a couple in our late 30s from New York, and Vivian's studio apartment was perfect for our visit to Paris. It's conveniently located close to trains and great restaurants, in a good walking neighborhood, and the building itself is very charming. We loved the courtyard and the staircase, and staying in an apartment rather than a hotel made us feel like we had more of the true Parisian experience. The bed was comfortable, the shower was great, Vivian was communicative and helpful, and everything we needed was provided, although the wifi signal was a little bit weak we made it work for us. We would recommend Vivian's place for any single people or couples traveling to Paris.
It was a pleasure to stay at Vivian's place (ex-nanny studio) very close to her main residence. She was very helpful with booking a taxi (like comparing two difference companies as well as Uber-like arrangements. The studio was very quiet although in a busy neighborhood with lots of convenient restaurants and grocery stores (even a bio (organic) one. The signs at the corner metro for the streets can be confusing so definitely check it throughly before trying to locate her unit. She accommodating our needs for laundry, even leaving laundry detergent accessible for us. Her son, Nicolas, even was gracious to us when we were waiting for our taxi upon leaving to ask his mother to text us when it was supposed to arrive. We would be thrilled to stay at her unit again if we visit Paris.
This apartment was a great alternative to staying in a hotel. Vivian ensures that as advertised it is fully equipped: from a hair dryer to pots, pans and ground coffee. It is exactly as it is described ( bigger in size than the pictures give it justice) and extremely quiet as it faces the back of the building. The entrance for Metro line 11 is nearby as is a well stocked supermarket for all your needs.
This was my first time booking an apartment rental overseas and I found Vivian to be an attentive host, answering all questions prior to arrival and giving a warm welcome that really made you feel at home.
I will only note as an observation for those who may have difficulty with stairs though the apartment is three floors up, there is no lift.
I highly recommend this property and Vivian for anyone looking to book and will book this apartment again the next time I am in Paris. Merci Vivian!
"Well furnished" and "character" understate the quaint charm and appeal of this apartment. The apartment had more than enough amenities for anyone looking to have full-featured service while staying in Paris. Vivian, especially, was welcoming, gracious, charming, and wonderful, both in welcoming us with pre-trip information, as well as upon our arrival. What a truly delightful host! Accessibility to the Metro, central Paris locations, and an up-beat neighborhood is what is advertised, and lives up to every expectation. Thank you Vivian... bravo!
Vivian's apartment was our first stop of our month-long Europe trip, and I doubt anyone will come close to her level of hospitality and warmth. The apartment is a cute little place, with a cute little view out the window, and comes with everything you would need for your stay. Vivian greeted us as we arrived, was very helpful and upon our request recommended a restaurant down by the canal to us: 'La Marine'. 10 minute walk...We had escargot, some weird french egg soup thing, rum steak and a fish dish and it was very good. Eat there. Good job on the recommendation Vivian. The apartment is well situated in the city, close enough to the things you wanna do but far enough out not to be too crazy. Close to the metro stations at Goncourt and Place de la Republique. You will end up using Republique more because it has more lines, and is about a 5-10 minute walk. Goncourt is literally on the opposite corner. There is a corner cafe down the street called 'Bonne Biere' where we had breakfast every morning and the occasional croque monsieur. Very good value and they have an english menu. Small sidenote: I am a 6'6" ex football player and the shower was very small for me. The corner opens up and I had to squeeze just to get in to a space I could basically just stand in. Would still return, but just thought id mention it for my fellow giants. All in all the stay was perfect, romantic, and Vivian was a wonderful host. 100% will be returning our next time in Paris. Thanks Vivian!! Au revoir!
M° Goncourt (L.11)The metro is literally yards from the apartment.
