New 3 bed villa at new development of Perola Da Lagoa, 10 min from Praia Del Rey. Entrance hall, downstairs cloakroom, fully fitted kitchen with breakfast bar, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and microwave. Open plan dining room / sitting room with wood burner, sat TV, DVD, CD. 4 sets of French doors lead to private garden and patio area with brick BBQ and outside sink. There is seating for Al fresco dining for at least 12 people, which is very useful for entertaining your friends and family. Adjacent to the patio area is a stunning swimming pool with beach entry and cascade waterfall. The pool is tastefully surrounded by palm trees and decking. The pool is 9m long and 4.5m wide, with the shallow entry area giving another 1.5m width. The depth is just over 1m at the bottom of the steps to 1.6m at the deepest end. This feature makes our house quite unique and we probably have one of the largest gardens on the development. A lemon tree and an orange tree are growing for your gin and tonics in the evening! 3 beds (1 double with en suite and 2 twins). 1 family bathroom with jacuzzi bath and shower. 2 of the 3 beds have large balconies with tables and chairs for your morning coffee. The balcony from the master bedroom has stunning views overlooking the lagoon. All bedrooms have built in wardrobes, integral drawers, pillows, quilts, quality bed linen and towels. A burglar alarm, security safe, security shutters, solid wood flooring throughout except entrance hallway and kitchen.

Cycle and Sailing information: There is now a full cycle track that goes all around the lagoon and is 2 minutes from our house. There are 2 adult and 1 junior cycle in our garage for use by rental clients, and these are maintained on a regular basis. Our managereress can also assist with rental of further bikes if required.

On the other side of the lagoon there is a sailing/ wind surfing / kite surfing club and if you contact

them they will come over to collect you...................Details are in the villa. Paddleboarding is also now available and is a lovely way to see the lagoon.

Golf information: Praia del Rey golf course is 10 minutes away and in 2011 was voted the best golf course in Portugal.

Bom Succeso and Royal Obidos Golf courses are the closest to the Villa, around 5 min. Royal Obidos only opened in January 2012 and was designed by the master himself, Seve Ballesteros.

We run our own business which is great because it gives us flexibility. We would definitely spend a lot more time at our Portuguese house if we were'nt tied to school dates!

Why Cindy Shouler chose Vau (Parish)

We originally had an appartment at Praia Del Rey, which we purchased off plan in 2001. We were happy at PDR but when we heard there was a new development taking place just around the corner, we saw it as an opportunity to upgrade from an appartment to a house for the same outlay. We were one of the first families to buy in Perola Da Lagoa, and although the house was already built, we managed to have our say on flooring, tiles, and kitchen and bathroom fittings. But by far the greatest thing for us was having a blank page to develop the outside area. We were lucky with the size of our plot, the size of our garden is disproportionate to other houses in Perola, and I would say it is a unique selling point. We love to entertain, and when we are in Portugal we are always having friends over for bbq's and parties. With that in mind we built an outside BBQ with enough seating for at least 12 people. There is an electric light and a socket next to the BBQ for the purpose of playing music. The swimming pool is very different from average pools. It has a 'beach entry', which is lovely if you have very young children as they can splash around safely. It has a cascade waterfall which I just love, and it is surrounded by tropical plants. In fact you could imagine you were in a rain forest. Because we live on the beach in the UK, I can't grow any pretty plants as they all die due to the salt. Because of that it was important to us to create a beautiful garden in Portugal. Hence we have palm trees, lemon lime and an orange tree, roses, camellias, and other unfamiliar species! We managed to integrate a patio area, lawn, and decking, and we are very happy with the outcome!

Another important fact! When we furnished our house we didn't skimp on the beds! There is nothing worse than going on holiday to relax, and not getting a good nights sleep. Our beds were expensive, and we have top quality linen, guaranteed to give you a lovely nights sleep after a full day.

What makes this villa unique

Perola Da Lagoa is a development, but it doesn't feel 'plastic' like some developments. Every time we go back and enter the drive towards our house, I know exactly why we uprooted ourselves and took a risk in this area. The drive is lovely, through a pine forest not a concrete jungle. It's like a nature reserve, and we are lucky enough to have a beautiful view directly over the lagoon from our bedroom window. Originally there was going to be a golf course here, a bone of contention with some property owners. Obidos council fought it all the way, as they didn't feel ecologically it was sound. They were worried about chemicals that you use on golf courses could enter the lagoon and affect the wildlife. Initially we were cross, but now we are eternally grateful. PDL is now an area of outstanding beauty, unspoiled, not full of concrete. We all play golf in our family, but the courses are just around the corner anyway, closer than our club at home! We also all play tennis, and the courts at Bom Sucesso are great, and only 5 mins away.

Peaceful, roomy house with great pool.

The house is situated in a very peaceful location and the outside area is superb. We had a lovely week pottering around and visiting the various attractions. We took our sat nav with us and it proved extrememly useful for navigating without using the motorways and a car is a must. We had all the facilities we needed, including uk tv for the evenings. This is not the place to go if you want hustle and bustle, but for complete relaxation, it's great. All in all, totally recommended.

Really nice villa in a beautiful area

The villa is really pleasant , with enough space for a family of 6.

The house completelly full equiped , you can even find some books, DVDs and games for the kids, as well as bikes and beach towels, pool chairs etc ...

First necessity items awaited us at our arrival : bread, coffee, milk etc ... a very nice gesture.

It's very clean and well maintained (gardeners, cleaning of the pool etc)

The area is also really beautiful, and still a bit wild, so the beach isn't crowded with people.

You can go to the beach or to the nearest restaurants by bike with the kids, it"s really nice, and the landscapes are really stunning.

There are also nice visits to do in the neighbourhood : the medieval city of Obidos, Peniche and it's sea food restaurants, etc ...

All information with visits and activities is available at the house.

You can also call the house manager for any question.

I totally recommend this property !

Very good place

Nous avons passé 15 jours dans cette très belle villa.

Les enfants ont appréciés la pisicne et la maison est très fonctionnelle pour 6 personnes.

Nous avons apprécié les services : lits fait à notre arrivée, petite intention appréciables (pain pour le petit déjeuner, thé, café).

J'ai recommandé cette villa a des amis.

La vue de la chambre sur la Logoa était magnifique et reposante.

Les commerces sont un peu loin il faut prendre la voiture.

Les plages, les falaises, les habitants tout nous a plu - c'est à refaire

Portuguese gem

Accommodation was very clean and extremely well equipped. The pool was a real bonus on hot days. The owners were very helpful and directed us to some wonderful restaurants and superb golf courses. We have recommended this to friends, and hope to return ourselves.

Lovely house in a fantastic part of Portugal

This is a lovely house: well maintained, very well equipped and with a great pool. It was also a pleasure dealing with the owners - planty of information on the house and the general location.

I spent a week there with my wife and 2 boys (10 and 7). They loved the pool and would quite happily have spent all day in it. But you add the waves of the Atlantic beaches and the opportunity to explore the lagoon they had a great time.

The house is in a very quite location and you do need to drive (or cycle) to the nearest shop so you should be aware of that.

Overall I would highly recommend the house and the location.

Villa at Perola Da Lagoa

This villa is the best equipped that we have ever rented. It is comfortable and modern with everything provided that you could need.It is in a very peaceful and beautiful location ,although development is going on at a fast rate so this could change.The nearest supermarket is 15 to 20 minutes drive away so it is necessary to plan ahead for self-catered meals.There are ,however, a wide variety of reasonably priced restaurants within easy driving distance.The property is clean and well-maintained.We would recommend it to anyone.

Perola Da Lagoa is a new development nestled within a pine forest overlooking the beautiful Obidos lagoon. Close by are the famous golf resorts of Praia Del Rey, Bom Sucesso, and the new golf resort of Royal Obidos. Infact, if you are a golfer you are spoilt for choice. The area does not only benefit from stunning golf courses, but also breathtaking beaches with miles of sand and surf. In fact the area attracts surfers from many areas, hence there are some really nice surf bars serving delicious local food, scattered along the coastline towards the fishing town of Peniche. This area is famous for its fish restaurants which line the road by the fishing port, and you really are spoilt for choice. Only twenty minutes by car is the historic medieval walled town of Obidos, boasting cobbled streets, quaint shops, wine tasting, a castle, and the bougainvillea that adorns all the houses in summertime. Obidos also hosts alfresco operas at certain times of the year which really are amazing against the backdrop of the medieval town. A very diverse area. Opposite our house is Obidos lagoon. Here you can learn to windsurf, kitesurf, sail, paddleboard, or just go fishing. There is a cycle path around the lagoon and we have 2 adult bikes and a junior bike in the garage for your use. In the mornings you can cycle around the lagoon to the cafes for the lovely fresh Portuguese coffee and pastries. At lunchtime you can cycle to the lagoon bar for a dish of clams, whilst watching the fishermen land their catch.
