Charles and I are semi-retired and moved down to St Ives and to Vivian House in the summer of 2014. Charles is a musician and continues to teach part-time at Truro college and I work part-time in heritage tourism. We feel very privileged to live in such a beautiful part of the country and welcome the opportunity to share it with others. We live in Vivian House on the first floor and manage the Apartment and Annexe ourselves, this means that if there were any problem we are always on hand. We offer a friendly service but we also respect guests' privacy and will only be a there at the start to help guests to unload if they so wish and show them to their accommodation. Otherwise we will leave them to explore St Ives and the surrounding area and to enjoy their stay.

Why Owner / Manager chose Saint Ives
The Apartment is on the ground floor of Vivian House. Its central location makes it an ideal choice for families and groups. There are no steps to negotiate into town because everything is on the doorstep. The sitting room has a TV/DVD player and a selection of board games. There is a granite fireplace with an electric wood burning stove, which makes the Apartment a cosy choice for out of season holidays as well as seaside summers. The spacious kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge with ice box and dish washer. The kitchen stable door opens straight out onto the pretty courtyard where there are seats and a table. Two double bedrooms lead off the hallway, one has a 4’ 6’’ double bed, the other has a zip and link double bed, which offers flexible sleeping arrangements, either as a 6’ double or as 2 x 3’ single beds. After a few hours on the beach the outdoor shower is invaluable to wash down wet suits and then to sit and relax in the courtyard, which is shared with the Annexe and access to Vivian House. The close proximity to the railway station makes arriving by train ideal. For those who come by car we can also provide parking in a gated car park (for an extra charge). All the shops, restaurants and beaches are very close which means that you can walk everywhere

Charming little apartment right in the middle of St Ives
Great place to stay right in the heart of St Ives but just tucked away from the hustle and bustle. The owners were so lovely and the place was immaculate. Would definitely recommend it.

Clean, comfortable, convenient.
Lovely cozy place located in town and so an easy walk to the harbor, beach, shops, and restaurants. Comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen. Quiet. Parking nearby.

Great property in an excellent location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Vivien House. The apartment is really comfortable and well equipped. The hosts, Anna and Charles were very welcoming and helpful in getting us settled. The location is excellent, right in the centre but just set back a bit so feels private and secluded. There is a shop 2 minutes walk away which was very handy, and the beach and harbour were 5 minutes walk. The little courtyard area was a lovely suntrap and secure for young children to run around. The car parking is a short walk away but this was no issue at all. All in all we would definitely recommend and would go back in a flash!

A welcoming surprisingly spacious central property
We have been to St Ives many times over the last 12 years and this is a little gem! We are a family of 5 with a young 7 month old and 2 boys. Anna and Charles are so welcoming and have created a wonderful home away from home. There was everything we could have needed and nothing was too much trouble. The only downside is there is no sea view but massively compensated by its central location, spacious, tastefully decorated and comfortable property with lovely owners. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

St Ives is also the perfect base for taking day trips. Here are just a few ideas:
Tin mining once played an important part in Cornwall's economy, find out more by visiting Levant, and Geevor mines.
For the more adventurous, take a trip by air or sea to the lovely Isles of Scilly. Day trips are available and run through the summer months.
The peninsular is at its narrowest point between St Ives and Marazion, which is one of the oldest chartered towns in the UK. From there you can visit St Michael’s Mount, the iconic castle set on a tidal island.
Penwith contains a great concentration of Bronze Age, Iron Age archaeological remains.
Explore Truro, the only city in Cornwall. It has some fine Georgian architecture and the Cathedral spire dominates the skyline. It is the main shopping town of Cornwall with a wide range of independent shops and high street stores.
Porthcurno not only has a beautiful beach – The Telegraph Museum charts its fascinating history, when the place became a Victorian Silicon Valley. Porthcurno is also the home of the Minack Theatre, Cornwall’s world famous open air theatre.
Visit the Eden Project, which can be enjoyed whatever the weather. Its massive Biomes house the largest rainforest in captivity and there are summer concerts as well as year-round family events.
