About Paola Andreotti

I started up in the year 2000. B&B were very few and it started up well. At that time I did not have the possibility of travelling often and I really appreciated the possibility of hosting people from all over the world in my B&B.

We did not increase the size of the B&B. We kept it small not to betray the spirit of B&B tradition, hosting guests from the farthest countries to the nearest villages as well as their friends, since word of mouth spread rapidly, sharing with them my love for foreign languages and our knowledg of the city and its rich territory.

Why Paola Andreotti chose Scandicci

It is an ancient family mansion, that developed starting form 1400 up todate. The Art Nouveau frescoes that decorate one of the bedroom and the porch date back to the beginning of the 1900. Furniture is mostly antique. I love its "vintage" atmosphere, the old garden/courtyard paved in cotto tiles, the romantic garden used for breakfast, reading sitting on the bench under the huge wysteria, the surrounding Tuscan coutryside and the couple of swallows that have their nest just uder the porch...

What makes this bed and breakfast unique

Romantic apartment at only 5 minutes (bus) from the tramway stop and 20 min from the historical center ( S. Maria Novella railway station).

City center can be reached by public means of transport (bus + tramway), but at the same time you are nestled in the Tuscan countryside. We are really close to the city center, but you have the advantages of a coutryside villa of the 1800 (quiet, no noise, apart from the birds that wake you up in the morning, pure air, free parking), but you're not isolated since the village is inhabited by several families and there is

a renowned and good restaurant at 1000 feet distance.

Lovely bed and breakfast near Florence

  • 5 of 5

Although the bed and breakfast is a bit hard to find, the accommodations are lovely and the hostess superb. Paola speaks fluent English and was happy to provide us with guidance on exploring Florence, Tuscany and Chianti. We enjoyed all three areas immensely. You definitely need a car when staying here as it is in a rural setting, though close to the Michelangelo park overlooking Florence and not far from the city walls. The breakfast prepared for us each day by Paola was scrumptious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely and cozy! Convenient location

  • 5 of 5

Charming bed and breakfast with only two rooms available to book. Paola speaks English very well and is so welcoming! Her cappuccinos are out this world! There is a wonderful Italian restaurant walking distance called BIBE. Bed was very comfy and weather was great in September. Thank you for everything! Convenient to Florence and Chianti!

Outstanding hospitality and old world charm

  • 5 of 5

I am so grateful to our host Paola for providing a week long experience to welcome us to Italy. Our time at the bed and breakfast was like a step back in time with old friends in a serene setting steeped in history. It was truly luxurious to wake up to fresh coffee and an assortment of sweet tarts and breads baked lovingly by our host. We even shared an evening meal that introduced us to many traditional Italian dishes with wines and aperitif. Our rooms reflected the comfort of history with tall ceilings and broad beams, frescoed walls and smooth terracotta floors that were a joy to walk bare foot on. Our kitchen was fully appointed and we enjoyed a living room to plan our coming days adventures. Especially appreciated was a large courtyard where we could relax in the sun with the fragrance of jasmine and honeysuckle in the air and listen to the beautiful birdsong. There is plenty of room to explore the countryside on foot or take a bus easily to the city. Paola helped us with our many questions, introduced us to new and wonderful places and shared her rich history with us. She is a kind, warm and generous host who felt like a long time friend to me. I have such happy memories of our week at the bed and breakfast and will return again. It was truly a dream come true! Many thanks.

Wunderbares Ambiente nahe Florenz

  • 5 of 5

Vielen Dank!

un séjour de rêve

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

Car: recommended

At only 2 km, from the historical center of Florence (Boboli garden, Old Bridge, Signoria Square) and from the peaceful Cistercensian monastry of La Certosa, provided with busses that connect the Borgo to the historical center every 20/25 minutes, Borgo Ponte dell’Asse offers its guest a fresh and skillfully renovated place to make their vacation as pleasant as possible at every time of year.

Visit the city of Florence or the Chianti region, le marvellous Crete Senesi (the area surrounding Siena) with their breathraking landscapes and the hot springs (Bagno Vignoni, Pienza)
