Quite and peaceful. Lovely setting. Wee appointed.
We got our provisions and cooked at home. It is a bit of a drive to a big grocery store. We relaxed and enjoyed our surroundings.
Not handicap accessible as advertised- false advertisement!
The house and setting are perfect- immaculate & well styled for a cabin in the woods. If you are looking for peace and quite this is the place. But if you need a handicap accessible home, this is not the place for you. Handicap accessibility and the wonderful ratings were the only reason we selected this property.
The property is not handicap accessible, look up the definition & this place checks 1 of the boxes. You can access the home easily, one step up to the front door but there is really ends. This means ensuring bathroom facilities for those who need extra assistance taking care of basic human needs. The shower/tub combo was a regular tub- beautiful tile work but required a 2 person lift to get in & out of shower with a shower door in the way. No bench to sit on during shower & no wand for the person to use to self hygiene. The commode placement again was problematic with not grab bars to assist transfer alone. Embarrassing & humiliating for an independent person. The lake access is not accessible for anyone needing special assistance - a steep hill both ways. This significantly limited the person in our group to the first floor of the house only.
The stay was pleasant but due to the lack of accessibility we cut our stay short by 1 day. It was just too hard to manage basic human functions with dignity. If this had not been an issue for our family, this would have been a 5 star stay.
We certainly apologize that you were expecting a handicap accessible property. Many times people will call asking if the house is accessible to a wheelchair and we will explain how many steps (if any) into the house and whether there are stairs once inside. We will review and change anything that could be interpreted as the property being handicap accessible. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Was over all nice place but was kinda a nuisance for the wifi was garbage and surround sound didn't work.other wise was excellent.
Beautiful and quite place to spend a family weekend. Pet friendly and many trails nearby to enjoy.
The cabin is spacious and comfortable. The pool table, fire pit, jacuzzi and pond are great amenities to enjoy with family. It is a lovely pet friendly cabin to relax.
Overly Protective Owner But Beautiful Property
The beauty is only in the pictures - There was nothing beautiful about my stay at this property. I arrived on a Friday afternoon and was impressed with the property, As me and my guest was settling in to enjoy a three day weekend of relaxization, fellowship, food and fun I was haunted with the conversation I'd had with the property owner prior to arrival, but I was not going to spoil the relaxing weekend for anyone else so I kept that bit of information to myself. All was well Friday night, as I slept like a baby in the beautiful bed and bedroom provided by Lakeside Majesty property and Saturday morning was a breeze. Saturday afternoon came and a few of my traveling friends stopped by the cabin to say hello and to wish me birthday wishes. (This information about arriving friends was made known to the owner prior to my arrival). Great time with friends on Saturday and everyone that was not staying the evening departed the property. Sunday morning around 9:33 a.m. I get a tex from the property owner, (which I did not check my phone until 11:40 a.m. or so), telling me, and I quote "Good morning (my name) So we just did a drive by and there are 5 vehicles at the cabin.......I took you for your word, whats going on?", she also told me that "her husband was there before 8:30 this morning just checking on things and the cameras on the property showed that 2 gentleman left in one car this morning." With all this micro-managing going on it made my late Sunday morning very uncomfortable and I felt like I was being harrased. I paid what was required of me and I also was asked to leave a credit card number for an additional security deposit on the property on top of an already expensive cleaning fee. I was open and honest about who was staying and who was coming by but to be treated like my reservation did not fit your sterotypical type I decided to leave a day earlier than plan. I was robbed out of a peaceful few days in the woods/mountain/cabin birthday weekend. I was placed under a micoscope because of fears the property owner had over her past guest mishaps. Because of that I decided to vacate the property and suggest that this property be taken off your selection for people who are looking for a relaxing weekend in a cabin in North Ga. I've have never had the challenges I've had in renting in the mountains that I've had with HomeAway Cabin Rentals and Mountain Oasis Cabin Rentals. Do not allow owners to get involved with reservations, pls.
We absolutely are protective of our properties, and I am not apologetic of that. When a red flag presents itself as in this case, we do what we need to do to ensure the properties that our owners entrust us with are protected. In this case, you made your reservation saying 3 people would be at the cabin. No problem. Then the day before arrival you sent in a guest list for 15 additional people...bid red flag. The maximum number of people allowed at this property at any given time is 6. We gave you a call and you indicated it was your birthday weekend and you had some friends dropping by during the hours of 12 noon and 6pm on Saturday. You indicated none of these people would be spending the night and if they did there would not be more than 6 at the cabin...red flag. We explained that was not allowed and explained why. You would not take no for an answer and I tried to give you the benefit of the doubt and asked you to put up a $250 Refundable Security Deposit. You refused to do this....red flag. Hesitantly, I agreed to take your credit card and charge $25 (which I refunded) to make sure it was a good card and you agreed. I could have just cancelled your reservation and hind sight, I should have, but I tried in good faith to work with you. The rest of the story is true.
The property/House was beautiful but as you walk through the house there is major water damage.
The pictures are not exact 1st the pond was filled with pine needles and very dirty. Now if your walking is not 100% the rock hill to get down is dangerous up/down. So we had rain for 3 days the house has water damage in the basement bedroom on the doors and floor, the game room has the water damage on the same side on the door and floors. The up stairs in the front enclosed porch had water sitting on the ripple water damaged flooring always they had drains but not in that area. We could not sit in that side of the porch.
Last because of the dampness of water damage we had for 2 days these very large black spiders were in the basements/bedroom and laundry room not good. Sleeping was not good because did I mention the Loft bedroom upstairs had a over abundant of Lady bugs in the bed/pillow and Blankets. Yes they are harmless but convince your kids they are. Last we did tell Mountain Oasis Cabin about the Spiders, Lady Bugs, Water damage and No warm Blankets and Linens. The weather the first night was 45. I even called ahead to ask these questions about turning on the heat, blankets. So Debbie the Owner/Manager apologize for the blankets and Linens. But on the defense about the Spiders/Lady Bugs and Water damage. She claimed they never had Spiders in this house, are we telling the truth. Now note they sent a Pest control company out called Golden's I spoke to them about the problem they placed new traps for Spiders out in the rooms . The old traps had those Spiders and a dead scorpion in the old trap.
Note I spoke to a neighbor he was a bit of information about the place. Debbie you also did not let us know when the pest Control person was coming and came when we were not home. Please Beware. Note Door Knob and handle was broken in the Basement door, window in Kitchen lock was broke and spot lights are out/maybe replace them.
