Hi! Who am I? In a nutshell: I am an explorer, a free spirit, a nature lover, a foodie, and an admirer of art. Also, I love my family and have two beautiful children. I very much enjoy exploring new places and meeting new people - to wander around, finding myself lost, while taking in everything that is happening around me: the colors, smells, sounds that are unique to every place. My curiosity has taken me to many different and exotic places and among my favorites are Cuba, Japan and New Zealand. My realisation is that you can't find everything in one single place BUT our place in Spain is getting really close! It has peace and quiet, an amazing view, clean air, while being on the doorstep of a nature reserve park with a wide array of hiking/(off-road) cycling paths, famous wineries, close to sandy beaches, great gastronomy and the vibrance and culture of nearby Sites and the cosmopolitan city of Barcelona! I'd like to think we found our little piece of heaven on earth and we would love for you to experience it too! To a wonderful stay in Villa Serendipia!

Why Martynke chose Olivella
For me, I love the fact that I can live in utter tranquility and yet know that I am under 15 minutes from the beaches and Sitges, a really vibrant town where there are many activities and festivals happening all year. And then of course there is Barcelona - only 45 minutes away to the centre. It is one of the most exciting cities to visit in Europe whether it be culture, gastronomy, culture or shopping. It has it all. But, the best part of Villa Serendipia for me is to know that after a day in Barcelona or on the beaches I can return to unwind in a beautiful, sunlit house with views on pure nature.
What makes this Villa unique
Villa Serendipia couples stunning views with immaculate, well-equipped and stylish modern accommodation across 4 floors. A perfect base for families or friends from where to explore many interesting places (nearby and further afield) and to undertake various activities or to simply relax on a sun lounger next to the infinity pool. There is something to do for everyone whatever your interest is!

We like… Beaches - Sitges is just under 15 minutes away and has 17 different beaches to choose from according to what you are seeking. We like Sant Sebastian for it being central, family friendly and with good cafes nearby Wine & Vineyard Tours - Penedes is situated nearby and, with its many vineyards, is considered on the of the best wine producing regions in Spain. It is probably most famous for the sparkling white, Cava. Visit one of the many vineyards for activities such as tours, winemaking or wine tasting Walking, cycling and horse riding in the Garraf - The Garraf Natural Park surrounds much of the area where Villa Serendipia is located. It is a protected area of over 120 km2 with a mix of limestone hills, rosemary/thyme scrubland and wooded areas which provide great opportunities for hikes, horse riding or cycling Barcelona - Only 45 minutes away is one of the most culturally vibrant and exciting cities in the world. Many places to see, a great range of shopping experiences or just find a cafe, restaurant or park and chill. Let this site show you more Theme Parks - Port Aventura is under 1hr away and is one of the most popular theme parks in Europe with 300 hectares of rides, shows and attractions. Aqualeon is a water park and safari park and is about 45 minutes away Eating Out - A fantastic range of dining experiences as you would expect from this region. Fortunately one of our favourites is also one of the closest and makes a great destination for a 45 minute walk from the villa through the Park. We would be happy to give more recommendations. …and a whole lot more: Clubbing, Golf, Historical sites, Kayaking/Boating… SEASONAL EVENTS The area is also famous for its seasonal events. Why not time your trip to enjoy one of them: Sitges Carnaval (mid February) - During Mardi Gras week in February, some forty-odd floats with more than 2,000 participants and 300,000 visitors leave a jam-packed Sitges completely breathless. A wild and crazy week of parades, costumes and partying Semana Santa/Easter (March/April) - Marking the beginning of the holiday season, apart from the religious events at the churches there are processions with religious floats from the various brotherhoods and guilds as well as singing groups and special foods. A really atmospheric time to be in Sitges and great for children too Fiesta Christi Flower Festival (late May/early June) - Parades and carpeting of streets in carnation petals laid carefully down in patterns and pictures by each street's inhabitants before dawn San Juan Fireworks (23 June) - celebrating the patron saint of Barcelona, the big firework event of the year Gay Pride Week (early July) - recognising the tolerant and bohemian atmosphere of Sitges, 5 days of concerts, parades and special events Festa Major (mid to late August) - celebrating the patron saint of Sitges with fireworks, human pyramids, processions, floats and dancing Sitges International Fantasy Film Festival (early October) - 300 screenings to over 100,000 people from around the globe. One of the highlights of the event is the annual Zombie Walk. Sitges Grape Harvest Festival (mid October) - In the middle of the harvest season, competitions, first grape pressings and wine tastings Christmas/Navidad - Regular sunshine, mild temperatures; Christmas is a really relaxing time to visit the region. There are less tourists but Sitges and Barcelona continue as before. For the children, try a visit to Port Aventura; warm weather, all the rides and rollercoasters but none of the crowds.
