Overview

About the property

3 bedroom, 2 bath, full kitchen with views of fern forest, 2 miles to Park

Although the property is within walking distance of the Village and just a couple of miles from the National Park, Volcano Villa sits on a full acre and is wonderfully private. Under new ownership (formerly known as 'The Deck House' of My Island B & B). Floors and many of the furnishings have been updated. High open-beam ceilings and large windows in the living room and kitchen give a spacious feel while allowing inviting views of the outdoors. Cuddle up in front of woodburning stove on leather sofa and loveseat.

Flatscreen TV, DVD player, CD player/radio, and WiFi. Dining room table seating for six. Lanai table, also seats 6, for covered outdoor dining surrounded by forest colors and sounds. Master bedroom features King-size bed and own bathroom with shower/tub. At night, King and Queen beds have view from pillow to stars through large picture-windows. 3rd bedroom has 2 XLong twin beds and window seat book nook. All bedrooms have brand new space heaters and beds have electric 'bedwarmers' for the cool Volcano nights.

Second bathroom adjacent to queen room, also has combination shower/tub. BBQ for outdoor grilling. Full size washer & dryer. Landscaped yard has large open lawn area in front of house ideal for kids to run around and play. It's big enough for a game of soccer. The back & sides of the house are surrounded by rain forest (there are no other houses close by) A trail winds through cymbidium, anthuriums, hapu`u and ohia forest behind the house. Front and side yard landscaped with hydrangeas, agapanthus, day-lily, azalea, rhododendron, camellia, magnolia, giant bird of paradise, & more varieties of anthurium

What makes this house unique

Sitting on the large front porch, lanai off the dining/living area, or deck off the master bedroom, sip your morning coffee or afternoon tea in comfort while listening to the sounds of birds. Enjoy the refreshing mountain air, greenery and brightly colored flowers that surround you. Many large windows bring the outdoors to you while in the kitchen, living or bedrooms. The front door frames a wonderfully unique stained-glass volcano scene.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Patricia, Good morning, Yes indeed, we had very good time in Volcano, and very good staying in your house. Everything is fantastic! We even had a BBQ night there!!! All family was happy!!! Only one little detail. The curtains should be better. Too much light coming in. Gary was very helpful and a great person! Kind regards, Zong

Thank you for feedback. The curtains are next on our list of continuing upgrades. Aloha

The owner or manager's account has been hacked - you will get lot's of spam.

  • 1 of 5

We loved our stay here, but we have notified the owner or manager on numerous occasions that their account has been hacked and is being used to transmit spam messages. They cannot be bothered to update their account with a new password and to have VRBO take security precautions. We have gotten many spam messages directly from this property owner/manager's account since our wonderful stay here.

Owner's Response: The spam issue with this guest goes back to before we started managing this property in January of 2016. NO ONE who has booked since that time has received any spam. We have taken it very seriously and have had multiple conversations with VRBO. We also receive spam messages into our account from this guest's email. We have changed the password and the owner (who was managing the property when this issue started with this guest) closed the email account that she was using at the time) We are frustrated that occasional spam messages have been sent back and forth with this one guest but we are continuing to work with VRBO to resolve it.

Volcano Beauty

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in Jeff and Cathy's beautiful home was absolutely heavenly. Located less than 2 miles from the entrance to the Volcano National Park, we were able to quickly access all the adventures we had lined up, from walking across the crater with steam rising from lava, to taking a ride on Oceanlava Tours to see lava pour into the ocean. The house was spacious, clean and very comfortable for our group of 3 couples. Any questions we had were quickly answered by Cathy and Jeff, and all our needs were easily met. Sitting on the front lanai in the morning, sipping Kona coffe, is a MUST! Should be find ourselves visiting the Big Island again, we would surely stay in this home again! Mahalo!

Amazing spot!

  • 5 of 5

It was like living in an old jungle movie or in a botanical garden. Set well back from the road, with lush tropical growth on all sides, and completely surrounding you from the large back porch. The interior architecture is well-thought-out, spacious and very comfortable. You are only a couple of minutes from Volcano Park.

Quiet and conveniently located

We enjoyed our stay in this quiet and peaceful location. The kitchen was well equipped, and we very much enjoyed having a fire in the wood stove.
