Overview

Volcano Village House Rental Photos and Description

3 bedroom, 2 bath, full kitchen with views of fern forest, 2 miles to Park

Although the property is within walking distance of the Village and just a couple of miles from the National Park, Volcano Villa sits on a full acre and is wonderfully private. Under new ownership (formerly known as 'The Deck House' of My Island B & B). Floors and many of the furnishings have been updated. High open-beam ceilings and large windows in the living room and kitchen give a spacious feel while allowing inviting views of the outdoors. Cuddle up in front of woodburning stove on leather sofa and loveseat.

Flatscreen TV, DVD player, CD player/radio, and WiFi. Dining room table seating for six. Lanai table, also seats 6, for covered outdoor dining surrounded by forest colors and sounds. Master bedroom features King-size bed and own bathroom with shower/tub. At night, King and Queen beds have view from pillow to stars through large picture-windows. 3rd bedroom has 2 XLong twin beds and window seat book nook. All bedrooms have brand new space heaters and beds have electric 'bedwarmers' for the cool Volcano nights.

Second bathroom adjacent to queen room, also has combination shower/tub. BBQ for outdoor grilling. Full size washer & dryer. Landscaped yard has large open lawn area in front of house ideal for kids to run around and play. It's big enough for a game of soccer. The back & sides of the house are surrounded by rain forest (there are no other houses close by) A trail winds through cymbidium, anthuriums, hapu`u and ohia forest behind the house. Front and side yard landscaped with hydrangeas, agapanthus, day-lily, azalea, rhododendron, camellia, magnolia, giant bird of paradise, & more varieties of anthurium

What makes this house unique

Sitting on the large front porch, lanai off the dining/living area, or deck off the master bedroom, sip your morning coffee or afternoon tea in comfort while listening to the sounds of birds. Enjoy the refreshing mountain air, greenery and brightly colored flowers that surround you. Many large windows bring the outdoors to you while in the kitchen, living or bedrooms. The front door frames a wonderfully unique stained-glass volcano scene.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Patricia, Good morning, Yes indeed, we had very good time in Volcano, and very good staying in your house. Everything is fantastic! We even had a BBQ night there!!! All family was happy!!! Only one little detail. The curtains should be better. Too much light coming in. Gary was very helpful and a great person! Kind regards, Zong

Thank you for feedback. The curtains are next on our list of continuing upgrades. Aloha

Beautiful and perfect for being so close to the Volcano National Park

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 had a fantastic time. Beautiful grounds, well stocked house, 4 minute drive to the National Park, easy to get to Hilo. It was perfect! I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Perfect home in tropical gardens!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 stayed here for 2 nights in July so that we were close to Volcano National park. The house is absolutely wonderful - clean and airy, tastefully decorated, really well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds. Loads of space for us. Good wifi connection (our Apple TV worked a treat). The most gorgeous gardens ever - we sat on the front lanai drinking coffee, with the perfume of tropical flowers (I have no idea which ones but there were many different types around), watching the birds.

Jeff was super responsive to all my emails, really easy to book the accommodation.

We could easily have spent a couple more nights here, just relaxing and enjoying the scenery.

Volcano National Park is the main draw in the area....get up early and you'll gave the park to yourselves till around 11am when the buses arrive. Do the Kilauea Iki hike across the crater first thing. And the thurston lava tube. View the lava crater at night from the lookout at the Jaggar museum. We had dinner in the restaurant of the Volcano House hotel, a window table looking over the crater...fantastic (book in advance!). Great drive down Chain of Craters road. We didn't do the night hike to the lava flowing into the sea at Kalpana as it was too much for my 8 year old but would have definitely done it if just my husband and myself.

Very limited grocery supplies in the village (and nowhere to buy food in the Park) so do a grocery shop before you arrive.

Nice space for 2 families traveling together

  • 4 of 5

From the outside, the house looks ok, but the minute you open the door to enter the house, it feels inviting. It was nice to have the basic needs available and my son and his friend enjoyed having their own room with the 2 twin beds. For the cost the space is reasonable and comfortable.

this cabin is fantastic

  • 5 of 5

Myself and 2 life long friends shared this cabin for 2 nights. We would have liked to stay much longer. The owners had included any and everything imaginable. I certainly will book this cabin again, longer though.

Perfect Hide-away

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 stayed at Volcano Villa for 2 nights. It was perfect! It is a great location to Volcanoes National Park and very comfortable to go home to. We had everything we needed. It is a very relaxing atmosphere. The rain forest out the back door was an added bonus. I wish we could have stayed longer.

very relaxing

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful house in an amazing setting. The house was very comfortable for the whole family and the grounds were very relaxing and well maintained. Was the perfect base for our 4 nights near Volcano National Park. Very close to several restaurants and the National Park entrance. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen fully outfitted with everything we needed for our stay. Thank you for allowing us to use the house and will definitely recommend this property to all friends and family who are looking for a vacation rental on the Big Island.
