Why Kerry and Danny Winchester chose Icklesham

This beach area has always been a favourite of mine since my school holidays. The location is good for people who love the beach and the countryside as both are on the doorstep. The location is perfect for travel to all the local historic towns ,beaches and gardens of the south east. Rye nature reserve is within walking distance along the fabulous coastal route. There is also a good fishing area.

What makes this cottage unique

A fabulous property close to the beach and local pub/ restaurant in walking distance. Although a grade two listed property it has the charm of an older cottage with the benefit of a complete renovation to suit modern living.

Great location, great cottage, great for a relaxing week

  • 5 of 5

Handy location - Battle, Bodium, Hastings, Rye - all less than 30 minutes away, Cottage is lovely, well equipped, with out being packed to the gills with useless stuff. Plenty of room for our family of 5. Very convenient for the beach - has a very pleasant walk to Rye via the coast - straight out o the front door.

Exceptional cottage

  • 5 of 5

On our arrival the property was most welcoming it was very clean and the welcome pack was superb quality .having spent the night there it was very comfortable and quiet the only thing I could fault was the lounge seating .as there was six adults it was a bit of a squeeze and we brought the arm chair in from the dining room but it was a bit overcrowded but apart from that it was really great .we were very lucky with the weather as it was lovely

Beautiful property with everything you need and more.

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely week at Spinet Cottage, it has all mod cons with lovely decorated rooms and sits in a great position for exploring the local areas. We went to Camber Sands, Hastings, Eastbourne including BeachyHead, Great Dixter and even went Kayaking to name a few. 1 week wasn't enough time.

Thank you.

Superb cottage and garden

  • 5 of 5

We all really enjoyed our stay at Spinet. The cottage is very comfortable, extremely well equipped and beautifully presented. The owners have obviously spent a great deal of time creating a superb holiday cottage, we would definitely recommend it and would love to return. The garden was also very nice and again well equipped, we managed breakfast and supper on the patio most days despite the weather being rather unpredictable. We found plenty to do in the surrounding area and loved the quiet ,almost deserted beach at Winchelsea especially the tidal pools at low tide along below the cliffs. Thank you to the owners for the lovey 'welcome pack' which we all thoroughly enjoyed, very thoughtful!
