One of the most beautiful places we’ve stayed on our trip. Way up in mountains overlooking the sea. Place was spotless. The owner with whom I had been communicating was not there which is why I did not give excellent. I tried emailing before leaving Rome to make certain I had correct directions knowing it would be difficult to find but never got a response. This was odd since up to then the communication was wonderful. Found out that she had gone north and obviously wasn’t answering emails.
However we were met by her Mom and her cousins and they were amazing. The place had two balconies and all the facilities needed. We were even able to do a laundry.
I would recommend this spot only to those not challenged by steep hills or stairs. It was amazing watching all the traffic on the sea below.
Thank you to the family for assisting us in every way.
It was 20 minutes to downtown Sorrento with lots of reasonable parking.
Thoroughly Enjoyable Stay
This apartment was perfect for us. Situated in a quiet residential neighborhood with a spectacular view. It has a fully equipped kitchen which we used on several occasions to prepare meals. Two lovely patios -- one situated off the entrance to the kitchen, overlooking a small lemon grove, and the second is upstairs, off the bedroom. We enjoyed many beautiful evenings, taking in the spectacular sunsets, overlooking the Bay of Naples and the town of Massa Lubrense from this upstairs patio.
The apartment (attached to the main house, but very private) is a 150 meter walk up a narrow (and somewhat steep) Italian street (7-8 feet wide). So our hosts met us in the little piazza and drove our luggage up for us. The two family-owned restaurants (a short walk) were lovely.
There is a small grocery store just 7-8 minutes drive which had everything we needed, including a full butcher shop. The apartment is 25 minutes drive from Sorrento and only 48 minutes drive to Positano.
Thank you, Daniela, for your hospitality! Our stay in Schiazzano was indeed one of the highlights of our summer.
Quiet and nice little village
It was a very nice location about one hour drive of the main attractions. Everybody in the village was nice. We saw the host only the last day, but her brothers were really helpful. The view is beautiful. They have farms around so sometimes the smell was a little unpleasant bur overall it was not that bad. We recommend this location.
An oasis of peace and comfort with amazing views
After a long trip from super hot Rome, Daniela helped make our arrival easy and seamless. She arranged to have us picked up by a driver for a reasonable price, who was waiting for us as we stepped off the train. Roberto, our driver, was professional and friendly. He brought us to Daniela's small town quickly and safely.
Daniela's apartment is located up a steep hill so she and her cousin packed our luggage in a car and drove up to meet up at the top.
The apartment was beautiful. Spacious, clean and very comfortable it had everything that we needed for a perfect home base.
The town is charming and has an excellent restaurant with a beautiful view of the Bay of Naples with great food and refreshing lemon spritzers.
We hired Roberto to drive us along the Amalfi Coast and it was a wonderful trip.
I highly recommend staying at Daniela's place. And, if you need a great driver during your stay, Roberto is the perfect choice.
A big Thank You to Daniela and her family for making our stay so special.
Beautiful Massa Lubrense
A gorgeous break in a spectacular location. Thank you so much Daniella and family 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Friendly owners, lovely view
Daniela and her family were really friendly and helpful.
The apartment was spacious enough for 3 of us to stay for a week. Note that the second ‘bedroom’ is a lounge area with a pull out double futon and a built in single bed/seat if there are more than 2 of you staying. The upstairs bedroom has a roof terrace which has a lovely view of the bay of Naples, which makes the stay here that extra bit special.
There is parking available which is in a private area behind a gate around a 5 minute walk from the apartment, but the way is very steep so not suitable for those with walking difficulties.
The apartment is well equipped although some of the utensils etc could do with a bit of a scrub before use - the chopping board is mouldy and the toastie maker hasn’t been cleaned.
That didn’t affect our stay however and is just a small point. The apartment is in a small village with a little shop and a couple of restaurants. Everyone is friendly. It is also ideally located to travel by car to places like Massa Lubrense, Sorrento and Sant’Agata. It’s around an hour and a half from Naples.
Overall I would recommend a stay here.
