Big studio flat in a chalet on the ski pistes

Bedrooms 2
Space 968 sq. ft.
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay nights

About the property

Big studio flat in a chalet on the ski pistes in front of the highest peaks of the Alps.

One big double bed bedroom, one bedroom with two single beds, a large living room with armchairs and a double sofa bed, kitchen, bathroom (the bathroom has a low ceiling).

For up to six people in 90 square meters.

Gas cooker, oven, microwave, fridge with separate freezer, kettle, coffee maker, hairdryer, hoover, washing machine, stereo cd player, tv with digital decoder, dvd player.

Pets are welcome.

Ideally located. Very peaceful. View of the highest mountains of the Alps and of the Aosta Valley.

The chalet is about 12 km. far from Aosta and 3 km. far from Pila but we are just 400 meter far from the “Plan Praz” middle station of the brand new Aosta- Pila cable car.

In winter time you can ski down from the house to the cable car station and then you may go, by cable car, up to Pila (about 4 minutes) or down to Aosta (less then15 minutes).

From Pila you can ski down to the house.

Depending on how much snow there is and the kind of car you have, you may park your car in front of the chalet or in a parking lot along the Aosta-Pila road, the house being about 200 meter far.

In the end, we are actually on the ski slopes, but out of the cars and skiers traffic in Pila, and, most important, you can avoid using the car.

Giorgio

"The accommodation was very clean. In a lovely quiet, really nice area. The views are fantastic.

The owner was very friendly and really helpful.

Great access to the slopes. Would definitely go back again. Pila was great and Aousta very beautiful and easy to get to on the cable car."

"The chalet was exactly as described on the Homelidays website. It was immaculately clean, warm (it was March and below zero at times outside) and had all facilities a family could want (washing machine, microwave, bath etc). Giorgio was present almost all the time (lives below the flat) and so helpful and considerate. Fantastic hospitality and welcome. Far more than a 'caretaker', he did all he could to make our stay as comfortable as he could. Views from the flat were incredible and it was as tranquil as we had expected. The chalet is up a long winding road so the drive to Aosta would not have been good to do frequently, but we went to ski in Pila which was a 5 minute drive away, and the need to go further than this never arose. It is definitely 'away from it all' but it was perfect! If we had needed to get to Aosta we'd have used the cable car if it had been running. Only criticism was of lack of a guard around central heating in middle of flat - Giorgio had warned us though. A great place to stay for a ski trip - close to the resort but away from it all too."

very friendly, charming and accessible place.

We were five and found the place quite spacious, we had enough place to receive friends for dinner in the large dining room. We also enjoyed arriving directly from the slopes to the chalet. The owner is helpfull and friendly. We warmly recommend this appartment.

Magnifiques vacances en vallée d'Aoste

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

Car: recommended

By motorway through Milan, Turin or Geneve.

Exit the motorway at AOSTA EST (it is the exit to town centre), then follow the road signs to Pila; soon after you cross the bridge over the river, the road begins to climb the side of the valley.

After about 14 km., after passing through many different small villages, you will arrive to a village called ACQUE FREDDE (Eaux Froids) : in the middle of the first u-bend after the Acque Fredde sign (about 500 m.), you’ll see on your left an unpaved road with an open white and red bar, at the end of this road (after 200 m.) there is our house, on the left, with the red blinders.

You can park in front of the chalet.

in a 3 km. range you'll find tipical restaurants, tennis courts, discoteque, Bike hire, swimming pool, horse trekking, shops, drugstore, bank, amusment park, adventure park, kindergarden.

Pila is the perfect base for trekking, climbing and mountain biking, cable cars will take you up to 2700 m. Close to 'Gran Paradiso National Park'.

Aosta is a city rich in Roman and Medieval remains, exhibition centres and museums, and represents the historical and cultural heart of Valle d’Aosta … and it’s only a short walk away from Pila – just 20 minutes by cable-car.

This “Rome of the Alps” (so called due to its huge cultural heritage) is the ideal place for an aperitif, to do some shopping in the old centre or spend an evening until late at a “Saison Culturelle” show – you can chose from cinema, theatre or concerts.

On 30 and 31 January each year, the thousand-year old “Fiera di Sant’Orso” is held along the streets of the old centre, this is the most important and ancient craft fair of the region.

Just a few kilometres away from Aosta are numerous medieval castles and manor houses, the most famous being Issogne, Verrès, Fénis and Sarre which naturally you can visit.
