Welcome to St. Petersburg, Florida the land of Sun, Sand and Sailing!
Our Bayside retreat is located in one of St. Petersburg's most desirable neighborhoods, 'The Old Northeast', and is ideally situated just a few blocks from The Tampa Bay waterfront, restaurants and bars, shopping, sailing, The Dali museum, the Muvico Theatre complex, live music venues, beautiful North Shore Park, vintage markets, the historic Vinoy hotel and a continuous string of green parks that wind along the seven-mile waterfront and is home to many special events and festivals throughout the year.
The 2 bedroom, 2 bath residence is warm and welcoming and situated in family friendly 'Historic Old Northeast', a neighborhood of charming brick streets, palm trees, historic homes and the waterfront. The main bedroom has a queen-sized bed and provides a tranquil night’s sleep - simple and uncluttered - while the second serene bedroom is bathed in lots of natural light during the day, has a full-sized futon bed, a basket of books for kids and adults and a desk area. Both bedrooms are located upstairs.
The kitchen is compact but with all necessary equipment including a dishwasher, oven and stove, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and all the kitchen essentials needed to make your stay comfortable.
Your home away from home is just steps from St. Petersburg's Beach Drive which anchors downtown shopping, dining and entertainment districts that include outdoor cafes and restaurants, world class museums and an array of shops, galleries, and businesses that line the city’s pedestrian-friendly streets.
We are only a 15-20 minute drive from The Gulf of Mexico and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. With an average temperature of 73.6 degrees, St. Petersburg records 361 sunny days which means you can enjoy the beach almost anytime of the year.

About Tania Welch
Live simply, live lovely this has always been my motto and St. Petersburg offers just this lifestyle! Our family loves spending time together to enjoy the things we love with the people we love. We recently made St. Petersburg our home to do just that. We hope you will find your time here in St. Pete full of simple pleasures and wonderful experiences.
Tania Welch purchased this Cottage in 2014
Why Tania Welch chose Saint Petersburg
If you believe in serendipity you'll love this story! We stayed at the Vinoy Hotel a couple of years ago and fell in love with this area, in particular our neighborhood, The Old Northeast. The laid back lifestyle, the stunning waters of the Gulf of Mexico, the Tampa Bay Waterfront, and the sense of community are just a few of the qualities that we love in our new city. Last Summer we decided to rent a home to see if we could really live here. We knew almost immediately we would make St. Pete our home sooner than later. A few months after returning home to Orlando, we enlisted the help of a wonderful realtor. We told her we wanted a small home, with outdoor space, and a garage apartment. The hard part was that we had fallen in love with the location of the home we had rented that Summer. The proximity to every place we loved was ideal for our family. We basically gave our realtor a very small area in which to find us a home. As fate would have it, we ended up purchasing the home right next door to the home we had rented in the Summer. Perfect home in a perfect location!
What makes this Cottage unique
We love our home and the garage apartment. Not only are they both lovely and charming but nothing beats walking out of your door and being able to walk everywhere. Walking outside the door and down the street and seeing a view of the Bay is priceless. We are most certainly 'HOME' and we are sure you will feel the same way during your stay!

Absolutely perfect in every way!
We were in St. Petersburg for a swim meet so I was travelling solo with our 11 and 13 year olds (who've never been to the beach!). Tania was very responsive to my initial questions prior to arriving, as well as during our stay. We had limited play time so her recommendations/suggestions were invaluable.
The apartment was immaculate and had everything we needed and more. The beds were more comfortable than ours at home (the swimmer really appreciated this!). The kitchen was also perfect. The fresh sunflowers on the kitchen table were such a thoughtful touch.
The location was perfect for us. Nestled in a beautiful neighborhood, close to the pool, downtown, the best coffee shop ever (Black Crow), and an easy drive to beaches.
I could go on and on about the amenities and how 100% of our needs were met at Wave House, but the bigger takeaway is the wonderful vibe. It was bright and cheery and we felt completely at home. Our FL experience was beyond our expectations mainly because we had a place that felt like home to return to each day. Thank you Tania and family for offering such a special and welcoming property for others to enjoy. We hope to be back next year!!
I’m thrilled you and the family had such a lovely visit!! You were such wonderful guests! Thank you.
This nice property is ideally located to walk, eat, drink and whatever in what is the most charming area of St. Pete.
Just a note for older or mobility limited folks. The stairway to the living area (2br, bath, kitchen) is quite steep and the treads are less deep than standard treads. This might be a problem for some people. We are in our 70's and it was a bit of a problem for us but likely will not be any kind of problem for younger folks.
BTW: Includes a nifty little courtyard perfect for bike storage (and if you like to bike, you will not find a better place). Flying in? Plenty of rental bikes available around the area within a short walk.
quiet weekend retreat
What a nice, clean place to hang your hat for a couple of days. The Wave House is in walking distance of many museums, restaurants, festivals and other downtown activities. The neighbors are very friendly. The area is in a quiet, historic residential area. The owners of the Wave House are very accommodating, providing precise information about parking, finding the rental and a book about area attractions. They were very quick about answering any questions you may have. You will enjoy your stay.
St Pete’s Perfection
Couldn’t ask for a better place for our visit to St. Petersburg. From the location which is walkable or Bikeable to anything you want to do see or experience -To the warmth and deliciousness of our host and hostess our time at the Wave house was perfect.
The water front, parks, a community pool and new outdoor gym are three blocks away. Beach st restaurants and downtown sites right down the street. The apartment is spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The bed is super comfy and I slept better here than I do at home. Huge closets have plenty of space to store your clothing and luggage. We picked up supplies to make breakfast each day and then explored the many restaurants for lunch and dinner. We will definitely come back as we are thinking of now moving to Saint Petersburg and particularly to this area.
Thank you Susan! Such a pleasure having you stay at The Wave House! Looking forward to being neighbors, hopefully, one day!
We had a fantastic trip to St Pete to visit friends this past weekend. The apartment is well appointed and comfortable. We travel with our 1 1/2 year old and there were some
stairs but the apt was furnished with a baby gate. We will be returning soon!!
So glad you enjoyed your stay! We look forward to having you back!
Overall great stay
Would have benefitted from AC downstairs but otherwise terrific!
