Whispering Pines House

Whispering Pines House sits on a stunning 10 acre wooded parcel surrounded by Ponderosa Pines and amazing species of oak trees. If you are seeking quiet seclusion and serenity amid beautiful nature, then this home is the perfect choice.

Our gorgeous 1800 sq. ft. fresh country style custom mountain home, built in 2001 and recently equipped with many new furnishings and upgrades, features 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and can sleep up to 11 guests. Its large open floor plan contains a living room, dining room area and kitchen with cathedral ceilings and ceiling fans. This layout is ideally suited for preparing a meal, watching TV, or just relaxing.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary large appliances such as a stove, full oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and toaster oven, to the small ones such as a crock pot, toaster, Ninja juicer, waffle maker, 12 cup coffee pot, hand mixer, dishes, pots and pans. In addition you will find handy items such as spices, foil, plastic wrap, cooking oil and much more. A walk in pantry provides plenty of storage space.

As a courtesy to our guests we start your visit off with fresh coffee beans from the Mariposa Coffee Factory, a complimentary bottle of wine, delicious cheese and fruit, plus some other goodies to soothe your cravings for something sweet.

The living room contains two queen-size leather sleeper sofas, a 46“ HDTV with surround sound, satellite TV and complimentary WIFI connection. There is a beautiful wood burning stove and spacious dining area.

The master suite includes a cathedral ceiling with ceiling fan and a King-size bed. The unique walk in shower is made for two and includes two separate shower heads. There is also a cedar lined walk in closet, as well as private access to the back yard seating area.

The second bathroom has a shower and tub combination that is perfect for soaking those sore muscles after a long day spent hiking in Yosemite National Park.

Both the second and third bedrooms feature Queen size beds.

The laundry room contains a washer and dryer with complimentary laundry soap and dryer sheets, so convenient for those longer stays.

The spacious 700 sq. ft. game room provides lots of storage space and includes a number of board games, dice, playing cards, horseshoes, air hockey and a ping pong table for those relaxing nights when you just want to hang out and have fun.

The outside area features sidewalks, a patio and driveway along with outdoor lighting plus a beautiful 8-person hot tub and open fire pit to complement the natural landscaping. This is the perfect place to enjoy a backyard barbecue and a game of horseshoes. The barbecue area is under a covered back porch with seating for 11.

Comfortable Home

  • 4 of 5

They have thought of almost everything at this home. Everything was well stocked (toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels, towels, etc.). They even have walkers and toys for babies if you need that. The rooms were all large and the beds were very comfortable. Unlike so many rental homes, they don't give you a list of things to do before you leave, like: take out the trash, start a load of laundry, etc. Check in and check out was also easy. My only complaint was that the master bath had not been cleaned. There were some cleaning supplies left out in the bathroom and it appeared that someone was starting to clean and perhaps got side tracked and didn't make it back in there. Also, out of 8 lights in the master bath, only 2 had bulbs that worked and that made it quite dark for doing your hair and putting on make-up. These are easy fixes and I would imagine this will be taken care of after the owner reads this review. We enjoyed the hot tub, having dinner outside, watching the deer and wild turkeys, and the games provided at the house. It is a short drive into Mariposa where we found some good restaurants. The drive to Yosemite took about an hour and a half from here. Would I book this house again? Yes!

Owner's Response: Hi Cindy, Thank you for your review, I am sorry about the few complaints that you did have. We have went through and replaced the bulbs in the bathroom and it is lit up like the sun once again! I do know that we got your group much earlier then check in time and we were a little pushed for time that day along with having a new cleaning lady working at the house that day. There is still no excuse for leaving cleaning supplies out or me not keeping up with the bulb maintenance which seems to be a constant battle. We are glad you let us know about your stay and will keep working hard to make sure our guests have no complaints while staying at one of our houses. Sincerely, Chris Jennings

Perfect space and location for families exploring Yosemite.

  • 5 of 5

The reservation and checkin process was really easy and Chris was there to welcome is and show us around the property. The home and surrounding area was so relaxing. A perfect place for us to stay and be away from the noise of town, but still close enough just in case you need anything. The scenic 50 min drive into Yosemite Valley was convenient and beautiful.

The amenities of the home was great for both adults and kids. The game room was a huge hit for the kids!

We know where we're staying on our next Yosemite trip!

A large, family friendly home with a warm welcome

  • 5 of 5

A great big house in a quiet and remote location but in easy reach of Mariposa with lots of charming little places to shop and eat.

The owners here put a lot into making sure the experience is positive from the beginning. The booking process was friendly and efficient and when we arrived, Chris warmly showed us the house and all its many features. Details like a big platter of fruit, candies for the kids and local wine made the welcome very special. Other details like all the utilities provided to live comfortably were most appreciated.

The house itself has everything and it is a great place for families - particularly big families as to be honest it was probably a bit too big for the four of us. Everything was clean and well maintained and we had a great stay. Thank you.

We all agree that our experience at this was home wonderful. We come from Palm Springs which is around 115° and we came up here to a 80° home. The afternoons in Palm Springs are really hot compared to the afternoons over there. The afternoons here are really enjoyable, and Fresh. The hot tub was great, and warm. It gives a great massage. Had lost of fun playing with the bubbles. The kid had lost of fun playing Ping Pong & Air Hockey. Yosemite was really beautiful. Got lots of amazing pictures. We went to the Glacier Point. The view was amazing. We really recomend this home to other people. We would definitely come back some day.The owner was very generous for living some fruits, and wine for us. The home was overall very beautiful!
