nicely located, tucked away in the hill. Short drive to Ashville and Biltmore estates which is where we going for the weekend. Clean, quiet, no problems. would stay again
We enjoyed our stay it was clean and all the amminities where there the ping pong table was a bit ro
The drive to get to the cabin was a bit rough but we still enjoyed it a had a good time
Enjoyed the stay but it was hot and there was no cell coverage
The house is in a quiet neighborhood off a dirt-road. We saw a momma bear and cubs, wild turkey, deer, and lightning bugs during our travels through the area. The house itself is well kept and enjoyable with lots of nice touches. The games were nice, too and we enjoyed evenings on the back porch talking and watching the lightning bugs. Especially given the price, if you're planning to drive out during the day and go hiking or things of that nature, then it's a good fit.
However, be aware that house was always hot, even at night with the windows open and the fans going. Also, and I don't know if it's because it was left shut up and unoccupied the week before we got there or something(?), but it smelled really musty for the first three days until we had the windows/fans going during that time enough to air it out.
Also, please do note that there is no wi-fi, and only one of us got cell coverage. There is no landline, which given how bad the coverage was, left us concerned and having to plan about how we split up during the day and who we left behind.
But overall, we enjoyed the stay, thank you, hosts!
Adorable house and beautiful views!!
We had a great time! A lot of fun things to do near by! The house was very tidy and comfortable!!
Perfect Family Get-Away
We enjoyed our time here so much. It is only a short drive to Chimney Rock/Lake Lure or to Asheville. We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and the layout of the home. There were 5 adults and 3 kiddos with us and we had ample room to sleep, play, and spread out when needed. Joe and Kit are super organized and very helpful. You will drive on some gravel going to and from the home at times--but it is in very good condition. Not a problem for us---we live on a gravel road too.
This was a perfect spot for our retreat with volunteers! Thank you for sharing your lovely home. It was very peaceful and restful, yet close to a magnificent hike at Bearwallow mountain.
