Ideal lakeside holiday location for up to six in the heart of the Lake District
This is the pair of us (John and Jeanne) celebrating our 60th. birthdays a few years' ago. We are both approaching retirement: Jeanne is a nurse and John is involved in property maintenance. We have been coming on holidays to the Lakes ever since our own children were young (mainly camping in those days) and have explored the area extensively. Some of the wonderful walks we have done over the years in the Lake District can be read about on the 'walks and information' page of our website, or on the Facebook page we have for Stickle Tarn Lodge: links to these can be found by clicking onto the 'Facilities' page above. We are incredibly privileged to have such a wonderful base of our own near to Windermere and we put our heart and soul into making the lodge a place where our guests can also feel perfectly at home.
Owner purchased this Cabin in 2007
Why Owner chose Windermere
Quite simply, it's in such a uniquely enviable location. It offers the opportunity for a wonderful sense of seclusion, and yet is just a few minutes walk away from all of the White Cross Bay park facilities (pool, bar etc) and the lake itself. Within the Lake District, it's hard to think of a location which could be better placed to access all the attractions which the area has to offer. Add to all this the fact that every aspect of the lodge is lovingly looked after by ourselves. We do all the cleaning and maintenance, and we put our heart and soul into ensuring that our guests get the best holiday possible!
What makes this Cabin unique
Many guests have said that Stickle Tarn Lodge is the best positioned lodge in the park (see reviews). Whilst it isn't directly overlooking the Lake itself, it enjoys the benefit of being on the edge of woodland and is raised up above most of the other lodges so that the balcony views are across the tree line rather than overlooked by other lodges. Have a look at the photos! The autumnal views are are particularly spectacular. It does, genuinely, feel as if the lodge is set in its own unique space. And there are no others surrounded by a dry stone wall quite like the one at Stickle Tarn Lodge.

A lovely lodge with a view.
A very clean, comfortable, warm and well equipped lodge. Four adults, two children and a dog had a lovely weekend here despite the rain.
Great location, lodge fully equipped, very clean. Very welcoming hosts and lots of great info.
Would highly recommend. Everything you need and a great base to explore the Lakes.
Outstanding. Absolutely outstanding
Ideal starting point for walking group
Mixed group of U3A walkers from Marlborough. Fully fitted our needs, kitchen and equipment, mixture of bedrooms and large comfortable sofas at the end of the day. The bus routes were really useful and busses run on time.
Lovely lodge and great stay!
Really lovely lodge and well located on the site in a more private, elevated position. Very clean, well equipped and homely. We had a brilliant stay to celebrate mum’s 90th birthday.
Martyn and Lisa
The lodge was perfect in everyway. The owners put so much effort into the little things to make they stay complete. I cannot think of anything else that could have been done to improve the holiday.
Thank you so much Martyn and Lisa. I'm sure that the lodge can't be perfect for everyone, but we certainly make it our aim to be as close to perfect as we can possibly manage. We'd love to have you back again, so fingers crossed!
Very best to both of you!
