About Robin Hurley
David and I have been married for since 1997 and currently live in Edmond, OK but plan on relocating to St. Thomas in a few years. It’s just the two of us, no kids, because by the time we got married, travelled and just had fun together, we decided it was too late so we’re that couple that our friends want to ask us to babysit or adopt us as their kids’ Aunt and Uncle, but we foster rescue dogs for the Central Oklahoma Humane Society instead! David grew up in Cincinnati, OH and moved to Oklahoma in 1985 with the US Air Force. Shortly after arriving he learned how to windsurf and his love of sailing was born. When he later bought a 14’ hobie cat, I quickly became hooked on the thrill of “riding the hull” and MY love of sailing began. We took our first sailing charter in the Virgin Islands in 2003 on the Ayacanora and absolutely fell in love with the Virgin Islands and have been back many times since then. In 2009 we started our own sailing charter business on Lake Hefner in OKC and have welcomed more than 1500 guests aboard. This experience has honed our skills at providing outstanding customer service which we feel has successfully translated into managing our vacation rental property. I grew up in Lawrence, KS and besides sailing my other passion is home renovating and decorating. We’d been talking about buying property on St. Thomas for a while, so after a trip in January 2014 we found the perfect place for us and made an offer! I arrived on-island in April 2014 and spent the next ten weeks renovating, doing a lot of the work ourselves. The condo was built in the early 1980's and hadn’t been touched in decades so we got rid of everything, made a lot of improvements and cosmetic changes and bought all new furnishings, fixtures and household items and are very proud of the result. We love our island home-away-from-home and feel we’ve created the perfect retreat not just for us but for you as well and hope you feel as comfortable there as we do!

Why Robin Hurley chose Estate Smith Bay
We chose this resort because it had several features that set it apart from other properties on the island that makes it unique. Consider these features and see if they’re what you’re looking for as well (then call me to book our villa!): • The resort was built on the hillside of Mt. Pleasant, and since the units are grouped into numerous separate buildings it has more of a resort setting environment rather than a large hotel atmosphere or the feel of an apartment complex. • Even though you think it might be really cool to rent a property right on the beach, the benefits of renting a hillside property are: the breezes are wonderful (especially in the hilltop units) so it’s rare to feel the need to run the a/c; privacy on your balcony and in your unit (I confess when I walk by a unit on the beach I look in the windows to see how it’s decorated, and when there’s people inside I feel like a peeping Tom!); you don’t need to worry about going to the gym, just walk the hillside for buns of steel (so you can feel free to eat as much as you want!); and the views are breathtakingly beautiful! • Most units have a wide expanse of windows which means a better view and bigger living space (unlike the “tunnel” effect at other resort properties with less than half the width). • 24 hour security guards at the property entrance, not just at night. • Small but private beach where more often than not you will be the only guests there! • You have the use of three pools at different levels of the property, each with its own distinct feel and view, but your Hilltop pool is a very short walk away and situated where you won’t hear any noise, and often times you’ll have it all to yourself. • A nature trail planned for and built by the original owners of the resort.

You’ve probably seen other villas for rent at this resort as well as other resorts on St. Thomas, but I’d like to point out all the things we have to offer that makes us unique (other units may have some of these things, but we have them all!). Blue Dreams Villa
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The view was fantastic as were the amenities. Robin was informative and a pleasure to interact with. No complaints except for timing due to Coronavirus. We would definitely stay here again!

Stunning Blue Dream Villa
This villa is one of the nicest places we have stayed for many reasons. When you walk in the door, the first thing you see is the beautiful view of the ocean and the surrounding islands. Then you walk to the patio doors and go out on the balcony to take it all in, and it is breathtaking. The accommodations were very well appointed and we felt at home right away. The location is also great, being close to Red Hook to experience some great restaurants and numerous beaches. Also the owners are very thoughtful with proving details of what the island has to offer. We will remember this trip with so many great memories and our stay at this beautiful Villa!
First, it’s worth noting that Robin may be the most proactively helpful host we’ve come across. She provides excellent communication with clear instructions and tips prior to the trip and even includes a book of seemingly every restaurant menu on the island. While we didn’t need anything during our trip, I have no doubt that she would have responded if we had.
The condo itself is exactly as described through both the description and the pictures. It rests high up on a hill which provides great views. In addition, it’s location means that not only is St. Thomas accessible, but the ferry to St. John is less than a 10 minute drive away.
Overall, it’s a terrific condo and we would definitely recommend it.

Beautiful. Clean. Comfortable. Amazing views. Helpful information provided and prompt responses from owners when needed. They did not accommodate a request for a later checkout, so don’t expect that, but I would still recommend this place and stay here again. Great property overall.
Point Pleasant is less than a five minute drive away to the hopping east end town of Red Hook where you'll find a variety of restaurants, shops, bars, a marina for catching day sails, and ferry service to St. John and the BVIs. Nearby you'll also find horseback riding, parasailing, the Coki Point Aquarium, eco tour kayaking, and several beaches. If you want to venture downtown to Charlotte Amalie, it's only a 15 minute drive away to more unique shops, restaurants and a wonderful historical area of St. Thomas.
