Apartment in an ancient and renovated 18th century building, located in the historical centre of Castellammare del Golfo, charming and tourist summer resort by the sea. Near the Reservoir of the Zingaro and the small village of Scopello (developed around an old “Baglio” with its magnificent view of the cliffs ), it is possible to set out on a wide-ranging journey, visiting Selinunte, Segesta, Mothya, Erice, Marsala, Egadi Islands, Trapani and its famous salt-pans, Ustica, Agrigento, Monreale, Palermo, Cefalù ecc. At the western side of Sicily, Castellammare del Golfo offers its heritage of natural, historical and archaeological beauties. The flat is placed at 100 m. from the Arabian- Norman castle and at a short walking distance from the fishing port (cheap fresh fish available every morning). Near the apartment there are many bars, typical restaurants, pizzeria, supermarket, shops, banks, a post office, pharmacies, churches, internet point, a bus station (500 m.) from where Scopello, Segesta, Trapani, Palermo and the Castellammare train station are easily reachable.

We, a danish family of 4 persons, stayed in the appartment for 7 days in july and would highly recommend both the appartment and area for others planning a visit to Sicily. The owner was friendly and helpful and we managed to understand each others in spite of language differences. The appartment was perfectly situated in a small but lively town by the sea, not too crowded with tourists. The appartmentand sorroundings gave us the impression of "being one of the locals". The terrace was absolutely perfect with a view over the sea, the landscape and the town.
The area was perfect for "slow living", cooking with lokal products, beach-life, running early in the morning, walking in the national park or renting a boat. Palermo and Trapani is in reasonable reach for a day-tour, Enrice is absoloutely recommended for a visit.
It was possible to find parking for the car most of the days, could be a problem in the evenings.
So if we ever would come back to Castellamare we would concider to stay in the same appartment again.
"This was very nice place to stay. We were 7 persons staying in this beautiful, clean appartment with 2 spacious bedrooms, 1 single room and terrace with spectacular view over the port which became our favourite place to relax and enjoy our meals. Even sofa bed was very comfortable.
The owner Mr Mimo and his family live in the same building and were very helpful, kind and ready to help at any time.
I would definitely recommend this apartment and location for family holiday.
"The apartment was beautifully presented, was clean, bright and extremely spacious, with beautiful views from all the windows - even the view onto the Corsa Garibaldi was lovely at night, and in the morning we could watch the town slowly come to life. The apartment is central and within walking distance of everything except the train station... There's a panineria, a fromageria, a gelateria and a market within two minutes and plenty of restaurants and bars...The Comos were exceptionally helpful and were very kind to us indeed - we had a hospital emergency and they supported us amazingly well. I would recommend this apartment to all our friends and feel lucky to have found it. We are all still reminiscing about ice cream at the gelateria, sunny days on the beach and long evenings drinking wine on the balcony, watching the lights twinking in the harbour."

"We were five persons staying in this loveley apartment - with a beautiful view over the port and on the other side the mountains. The apartment was well equipped, clean and suitable for us. It was easy to get the keys from the owner, who lives in the same house. On the same street, not far from the apartment, there were several small shops with food etc. There were a big choice of restaurants around the port and close to the apartment."
"This is a great place to stay; clean, quiet with a spacious terrace and a spectacular view over the port. The owner, Mimo, is an interesting guy who is friendly and always available for advice or assistance. He offered wine, grapes and fruit from his vinyard. Excellent location at the foot of the main street in town, however, there are 50 steps from the street to the apartment. We will rent this place again."
Castellammare del Golfo is easily reachable taking the motor-way A29 Palermo-Trapani ( entrance Castellammare del Golfo). By plane : Palermo airport (35 km.) and Trapani airport (38 km.). By ship : the port of Palermo. By train: Castellammare train station. It is also possible rent a car (airport delivery). We are the owner of the apartment, there is no mediator.
Castellammare del Golfo is a wonderful summer resort in which its heritage of natural and historical beauties offers an unforgetable holiday in discovering of Sicilian tastes and smells. It is possible choose an organized tour, rent a motor-boat or a fisher old boat restored in 2006. Near the apartment there are many bars, typical restaurants, pizzeria, supermarket, shops, banks, a post office, pharmacies, churches, internet point, a bus station (500 m.) from where Scopello, Segesta, Trapani, Palermo and the Castellammare train station are easily reachable. In the spectacular natural view of the Greek theatre of Segesta (18km.), carved in the rock and dated to the 2nd century B. C., every year theatrical performances are staged ( Classic Plays and Tragedies), evoking an atmosphere of older times.The owner of the flat live in the same building and they could give you all the useful informations or advice you how to spend a wonderful holiday in Sicily.
