Perfectly placed in beautiful, historic wine country
Le Studio is not a studio - it is a house, a charming gite in a friendly village with vineyards, fields and our own lock on the famous Canal du Midi. We are 10min from the medieval Cité de Carcassonne and you can just see its turrets from your large sun terrace.
The village has its own café and shop for fresh bread and basics, the villagers are very friendly and helpful and there are wonderful walks all around through vineyards and fields of sunflowers. You may find yourself hardly straying, though probably not . . .
The lively port of Trebes is only 5min away where there are supermarkets, restaurants & bars aplenty.

a charming house which was very comfortable and extremely well equipped. there is a beautiful terrace to enjoy at anytime of day. we were made very welcome with delicious wine and home made apricot jam. An excellent location for access to Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi
Far too short, though . . .
Unusual Gite in Lovely Village
This is a charming, tastefully decorated gite in a small village near to Carcassone and the Canal du Midi (5 minute stroll downhill). Unusual feature is that the kitchen and bedroom are on the ground floor and the living room and bathroom on the first floor (which links to the beautiful and sunny terrace). Once you get used to the idea, this all works fine as the kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom large in size with lovely overhead shower. Shame that washing facilities and wi-fi are not exactly what you expect, but there are ways around this. Michele and Rowland are an amazing couple who have quite a life story, of which we only got to hear a few snippets and are very welcoming hosts. Jacques is their adorable dog who just loves the guests. It was perfect for us and for what we wanted to do.
Can't wait to go back!
Bizarre layout, bizarre owners but a good way to spend time.
Charming gite, extremely clean and well equipped
Roland and Michelle are excellent hosts, and made us feel very welcome during our short stay. Le Studio is a beautiful little retreat, the attention to detail really did make us feel special. We had a bottle of wine chilled on our arrival, some delicious homemade marmalade, and fresh cut flowers in the bedroom. The essentials had not been forgotten either as there was tea, coffee and sugar, cooking oil, and an extremely well equipped kitchen.
Every room has been tastefully decorated to a high standard, with lots of rustic charm.
We enjoyed the terrace which was a lovely little sun trap even in April!
I thoroughly recommend Roland and Michelle's Le Studio!
Thank you and we enjoyed having you here as well, a breath of fresh air! The unusually good April weather probably helped. You left Le Studio in excellent condition and we appreciated the lovely bottle of "Castle Mavis" you left us as well, cheers!
We'll start with the medieval walled City of Carcassonne which is the must-see for anyone in the area. It is an 11th century walled city which was lovingly restored over a hundred years ago. It has everything you would expect in a medieval castle, battlements, torture chamber, wonderful old cathedral with gargoyles, fine dining, fast food, great ice cream and bunches of history. We've also got lots of Cathare castles, mostly perched (sometimes miraculously so) on the tops of hills around us. This is the heart of wine-growing country so vineyards abound and the famed areas of the Minervois and the Corbières are just around the corner. Most of the vignerons are welcoming for tastings and we can even arrange tours for you.
