The location: The chalet is in the La Turche area of the village and is less than 100m from the piste/drag lift/lift pass office (so is effectively ski-in/ski-out) or a short schuss to the 6 man Perriere chair lift. Even in peak periods these lifts do not have queues. Our friendly local ski hire shop (10% discount available) and local bars are across the road and the bus stop is 50m away. The town centre is a 3 min. free bus ride away or 10 min. walk.
Communication with owner was good, instructions easy to follow.
Property was perfect for our needs and very close to Les Gets.
Happily go back again
8 of us from South Africa stayed in two apartments for 2 weeks. Arriving in a snowfall was wonderful. The local ski-hire (Philippe Sports) were fantastic .. and so convenient for upgrades and adjustments. They offered a discount to locals.
The bus was reliable and it was great to be out of town. the ski-in/out was great for non-beginners.
It worked because we had the 2 apartments ... one had a dishwasher and the other an oven. Had we squeezed into an 8 sleeper with a microwave-size oven, it would have been less pleasant.
We had a wonderful stay.
I struggled with communication with the owner, and the only sour taste is a gap in communication where what was written about the deposit I found ambiguous and the owner has not replied to the email I sent on this. I find that unacceptable. So any potential guests, ensure clarity.
this is what I received from the owner : "Cost will be (whatever) plus cleaning fee’s of (whatever) = (whatever) this to be paid a full eight weeks before the trip. A booking deposit of (whatever) will be required which I will then use as a damage deposit and return after your stay".
For me it read '(whatever), secure this booking with a (whatever)refundable deposit'.
As I have not had a reply from the owner, I presume (which I shouldn't) he meant '(whatever). IN ADDITION to this I require a deposit of.....'
I wonder if I would be allowed to stay again!!
Chalet is right next to Le Turche tow that gets you to the top of the resort quickly and saves you going down to Les Gets with the rest of the punters.
Supermarkets and shops are all in Les Gets - 10 min walk.
Ski Hire shop next to chalet that is reasonable.
