About Glenn Saber
Hello from Glenn! I grew up in Chicago before moving to Arizona in 1972 to study architecture at the University of Arizona. Several years after opening my own practice in Phoenix, I purchased Casa Verde and moved my busy office into its wonderful bungalow where we worked for 22 years. Now retired, I personally designed and remodeled the bungalow into this spacious, quality rental. Beyond architecture, I am very active with toy train collecting and operating, sport motorcycling, old Willys Overland and Dodge Power Wagon trucks, music, percussion, audio, video ... and my small Coton De Tulear dog Chaz :-)
Glenn Saber purchased this Bungalow in 1993
Why Glenn Saber chose Camelback Shadows
I looked for a permanent home for years before stumbling upon Casa Verde. There is something very special going on here. Relaxing, peaceful, unassuming, content, embracing. Could it be because it's ... green? Actually, Casa Verde is more of a compound than a home as the large bungalow, multiple fruit trees, garden railroad and abundant parking, make this property multipurpose. The central location is magnificent - close to everything - shopping, banks, entertainment, highways, parks, etc. Move? Where would I go? Why? This is my home.
What makes this Bungalow unique
When in season, 1,000 incredibly juicy grapefruit and 50 oranges. Pick a few for breakfast before taking a peaceful walk along the canal with your dog. View Camelback Mountain and awesome sunsets. What a great, quiet and secure neighborhood.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Return visit to Biltmore Bungalow
A repeated stay for me near my daughter and her family. Always a pleasure and s quiet retreat to recover from the busyness of being the visiting grandma. Awake to the sound of birds at dawn. Will return
Enjoyable stay. Property was exactly as portrayed. Clean, quite, and easy to get around.
This was our 1st time using VRBO, and trying the "snowbird" thing. We chose Glenn's property because of its quaintness, and the comfortable vibe we got when reviewing the pictures of the property. Glenn is very upfront in his discription of the property. It's very comfortable. You have everything you need. There is a fully functional kitchen to make a full meal or simply fix a quick snack. The TV area has comfortable seating, and there are plenty of channels. The bed is quite comfortable. Nice to climb into after a long day of checking out the area. It's pretty easy to get around. Easy access to the 202. If you're a Cubs fan it's a little over 20 minutes to the stadium.
Glenn has some good literature available. He points out some fast food places, grocery stores, etc. There are CVS and Walgreens stores nearby. Walmart and Costco is also nearby. You do need to be aware you will have to have a car or use Uber, etc.
Glenn is a good guy. He's helpful with information, but isn't intrusive. He made sure to respond quickly when we were setting up our visit. Keeps you informed, and provides information in a timely manner. Glenn was very upfront about his property. If you want clean, comfortable, and a good value this place would work very well. If you need glitz or alot of frills you probably need to look elsewhere.
Great place centrally located
My Biltmore Bungalow is a warm cozy home and we fell in love with the area.
Glenn is a great owner and is available to help with questions within minutes.
The Bungalow is centrally located to so many things.
Between Heard Art Museum, Mexican Art Imports at 340 N. 24th St. , or Frank Lloyd Wrights “Taliesin West”, Fashion Square Mall and Old Scottsdale shopping and food we moved around Phoenix with little effort.
We rode bikes on the canal often and lunched at Chelsea’s Kitchen and Vincent’s Market Bistro. (Both outstanding places to eat and about $$ depending upon entrees.)
You can’t beat “The Collins” for lunch or dinner. The food is yummy and the presentation delightful. Matts Big Breakfast a great breakfast place. Get there early or prepare to wait for a table. Having Safeway close was like having the refrigerator just down the street.
Not more then two miles from the house is the Biltmore Fashion Mall. Great restaurants and has some fun stores. On Sundays starting in February they have a free concert in the main square. People come with blankets and chairs and eat from the mall restaurants or bring their coolers.
Just one last great restaurant is The Parlor, a pizza/pasta restaurant on about 19th and Camelback. On Monday and Tuesday they have great specials.
Great place to relax and enjoy the nice weather
Hosts were very friendly and helpful
Neighborhood was quite
Great restaurants nearby too
Easy access to hiking Camelback too
This is our favorite place to stay in Phoenix!
Quaint and very homey.
It was a great stay. Glenn was a wonderful host and very attentive to any needs. There are so many little extras that make everything feel welcoming. I highly recommend this property.
