First and foremost a big thank you to Lorrie the owner. She greeted us upon arrival with homemade banana bread, a bottle of local wine and a lettuce plant! YUMMY! She was amazing. Very responsive by cell phone text and email. This rental was a gem of a find as it was a last minute booking that was AMAZING! This cozy 2 bed room, one bath beach cottage is very well appointed and IMMACULATE!!. There is a nice back deck to enjoy the view of the nay while sipping your favorite morning coffee or an evening glass of wine from the local Sakonnet Vineyards, about 1 mile away from cottage. Cottage is in s private quiet beautiful costal residential community. There are 2 bedrooms; 1 queen bed, and the other with 2 twin beds. The beds are very comfortable. Very well stocked kitchen with dishwasher, plenty of pots and pots and cooking utensils to make a snack or complete holiday meal. The cottage is nicely landscaped and there is a outdoor cedar shower and Weber grill. The area is great for walks, runs, bicycling, fishing, kayaking, and sight seeing. You are within a couple miles to many antique shops, local farm and herb stands, a local vineyard, many great food eateries (10 Cousin's Brick Oven Pizza was a favorite), Gray's Ice Cream, Coastal Roasters coffee, the Yacht Club and the Sakonnet Light House. I can't say enough how clean and very comfortable this rental was. I definitely am looking forward to another enjoyable and relaxing visit next month. I highly recommend this VRBO vacation rental. Thank you again Lorrie!
Book a stay with Stephen & Lorrie and you will not be disappointed. The home is away from the hustle and bustle of a big, active city (but easy to get to) which was perfect for us. When we did go out things were not far. Newport was just a quick 35-40 minute drive. Lorrie & Stephen couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The cottage was immaculate. Don't be fooled by the "small" size in the description. Our trip included four adults and we were very comfortable in the house. I lost count of how many times my mom said "we'll be back".
Me and my wife came up to Little Compton for a wedding, Did not want to stay in a hotel, found this little gem of a house close to the water.. Made good use of the outside deck and shower. House is comfortable and spotless. Hosts are gracious and friendly. Had a lot on our plate between wedding and before and after parties, but found enough time to enjoy the local area and seafood, YUM, great farm stands too. only regret is not being able to get any fishing in... oh well next time for sure!
Our week at this cottage was wonderful. I rented the house with a friend, and we had a few friends come visit us during our week long rental. Our time began with a spotlessly clean home, a gorgeous bouquet of hydrangeas on the kitchen island, homemade banana bread, and prosecco chilling in the refrigerator.
The decor of this cottage is tasteful and updated. Fresh, colorful Fiesta ware dishes in the kitchen, lovely blue and white bed linens, beautifully tiled new bathroom. The same is true of the outdoor space-nice plantings around the yard and a delightful outdoor shower. The deck has two umbrellas, and plenty of comfortable seating. It's all neat as a pin and you can tell that the owners take great care of everything.
Lorrie gave us helpful recommendations-we loved everything she suggested. Less than a mile away is a FANTASTIC farm stand-Walker's. The tomatoes and corn were delicious, and don't miss the fresh fruit pies from Wilma's Bakery, which is attached to Walker's. We loved the peach/blueberry one the most. Our time at Sakonnet Winery was also idyllic-we went on a Sunday afternoon for an outdoor wine tasting, where a jazz band plays as you are enjoying your wine and picnic.
Lorrie was so kind when we accidentally locked ourselves out of the cottage-she insisted we keep our dinner reservations, and she would drive a spare key over to the house. A very gracious and thoughtful owner.
This place is a gem. We rented the house not having much knowledge of the area, but quickly fell in love with the cottage and the town. Definitely would stay again!
This cottage was the perfect get-away place for us - 2 girlfriends on our annual week away! The location was central to all that Little Compton has to offer as well as providing us with a comfortable place to relax. The owners provided so many thoughtful touches, from the fresh flowers, Prosecco and banana bread upon our arrival to boogie boards for our day of adventure on the beach! They offered us useful tips about where to get provisions and other info about the town. The deck is a heavenly place to perch when watching the sunsets over the river or the before dinner glass of wine. We found the kitchen to be well set up for our cooking and we enjoyed the top-of-the line appliances. The quiet of the neighborhood allowed restful nights. We both would highly recommend this cottage!
This cottage is located in the most perfect part of Rhode Island. It's close to the beach, and updated with charm. The beds are comfortable, the cottage is very clean and the kitchen is well stocked. The deck is the perfect place to sit and enjoy your morning coffee, lunch or dinner. The garden was beautifully kept as well. The outdoors shower was a pleasure after a day at the beach. Quiet neighborhood, close and convenient to Farmer's Markets, great restaurants and Gray's Ice Cream (yummy). Our family had a great time and the owners Lorrie and Stephen are super nice too.
