Your suite is a completely self-contained and private unit on the side of our house and features peaceful, homey décor with all the amenities you could need. This is the perfect suite for a single person or a couple. Your comfort is our goal so we have created a restful retreat that you can think of as your home away from home when you visit Salt Spring. This wonderful space offers a full kitchen for your culinary creativity (plus the BBQ outside!), a full bathroom with tub, a comfy sitting room/bedroom and a relaxing, private deck with forest and mountain views. We are conveniently located a 1 minute drive from Ganges Village. Please enjoy the complimentary coffees, teas and hot chocolate. In the village on Tuesdays is the farmers market for local produce and home made goodies. On Saturdays is the Saturday Market where you can get everything from a complete new outfit and fabulous artistic creations to yummy goodies and local produce. Every day of the week, of course, you have many and varied shops to choose from in Ganges and Uptown and Fulford that are ready and willing to meet any of your needs and wants.
Salt Spring is our home, and it's our mission to help you feel at home too!
Please note: If guests wish to book a weekend night in the high season (May to Sept.) we ask that at least 2 nights be booked. Thank you. :)
Lovely place. we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thanks
We really enjoyed our stay with Melissa and Steve. Super nice people, clean accommodations in good condition, close to Ganges and still very quiet. Rosie the dog is a bonus; she's a sweetie.
A short drive into Ganges and centrally located on the island made this a very convenient spot for island visiting. A warm welcome was extended by Melissa, Steve and their friendly Rosie. Their home is very comfortable, clean and nothing is lacking. Thank you, Steve, for advice on where to find easy hikes.
I can only echo the comments in the guest book that mirrored our experience with Melissa and Steve. Melissa met us outside, in the pouring rain and wind (remnants of a Japanese typhoon) with umbrellas and flashlights even though it was very late in the evening. The apartment was perfect for our get away. It was cozy and very comfortable and situated in a gorgeous and quiet neighborhood near Ganges. Both Melissa and Steve looked out for our every need and were always ready with answers to our questions. When the typhoon remnants threatened the power lines, Melissa came by with candles and assurances that we would be well taken care of if the power went out and lasted for more than a few hours. They are delightful hosts and we heartily recommend both the apartment and them as owners and hosts. I don't know when we've been treated so kindly and warmly at a vacation rental! The island is delightful and a wonderful place to visit and explore!
The bed is very noisy! The oven temp is not accurate. Very good hot water for shower! The addition of a garlic squisher would help. Very quiet and private! Would. E a tight squeeze if you had dinner guests!
Steve and Melisa very good hosts!
We were met by Melissa at the appointed time and she gave us a great welcome, along with Rosie the dog. The area was quiet with some lovely walks and everything was exactly as advertised. In fact the place was better equipped than we thought it would be. Melissa and Steve have thought of everything.
We had lovely weather all week so we enjoyed sitting out on the deck enjoying the garden.
We were only 5 mins drive from downtown Salt Spring which has everything from great coffee shops and restaurants to lovely shopping, market on Saturdays. We even attended a classical music concert at the Art Centre.
We did some lovely ferry trips to Mayne, Saturna, Swartz Bay, and Pender but mostly we just walked and enjoyed ourselves.
Melissa provided us with plums from her trees and urged us to help ourselves. She was available to answer our questions.
I would definitely recommend this property for the reasons stated above but also because it is reasonably priced, which is hard to find in expensive Salt Spring Island.
