Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at my listing! I am a career military officer originally from Austin, Texas finishing my last few years of military service in the DC area. I hope you enjoy your time visiting our nation's capital, and if there is anything I can do to assist, please let me know!

Historic Capitol Hill is truly a downtown suburb that offers all the excitement of the city yet retains a safe and small neighborhood feel. The residents here are a tight-knit group comprised mostly of families who possess a strong sense of community. Nestled within the long rows of neighborhood homes you will find pockets of excitement ranging from a multitude of eating establishments to DC's only remaining original public produce market, known as Eastern Market. And of course it's extremely close proximity to the Capitol and various Smithsonian museums puts you literally at the doorstep of our nation's history. It is an absolutely wonderful location for both residents and visitors alike!
No expense was spared in the complete refurbishment of this house. You will be staying in a historic home complete with modern amenities--1880's on the outside and 2010's on the inside! Location-wise everything you need (restaurants, groceries, shopping, Metro) and everything you want to see (Capitol, Library of Congress, National Mall, Eastern Market, Barracks Row, Smithsonian museums) are just a few blocks away and within easy walking distance. Live amongst the locals and truly feel at home during your visit!
We had a great time in DC thanks to this wonderful apartment! The location could not have been any better. We were only blocks from the Capitol and local restaurants. The apartment was very clean and nicely furnished with all that we needed during our stay. I definitely recommend the apartment to families wishing to be close to all the sights in DC.
We enjoyed our stay on Seward Square. The property was as presented in description and photos, great condition and very clean. The location could not have been better for our vacation needs. I would definitely recommend it to friends and would stay there again myself. The only negative was the coffee maker. For a two bedroom unit, a mini size coffee maker was unreasonable.
This property was perfect for our family of 5 on our first visit to DC. It was beautifully maintained, and had everything that we needed. It was close enough to all the major sites, an UBER ride was usually in the $10-20 range. My kids really loved staying in a house in a neighborhood. They felt like we lived there. There were lots of very good restaurants nearby and we had a great option for dinner each night within walking distance. We always felt safe in the neighborhood as well. The only thing we would have liked was a shade on the door window to pull at night. I would surely recommend this property to others. Nearby restaurants to visit include : Sonoma, Hanks Oyster Bar, Mr. Henrys and We the Pizza.
Our family of 4 had a wonderful time. This rental is well appointed, comfortable and located within walking distance of the Capitol, Supreme Court and Library of Congress. It was perfect for us.
The location was great, a short walk to the metro and Eastern Market.
The apartment was very comfortable and clean with a great TV. A parking pass was available for our stay.
The owner was very accommodating and quick to respond to questions.
All of the previous reviews are quite accurate - this was a very nice place to stay. Everything is very clean, neat and up-to-date, like a better hotel. The only things I can think of that would have been convenient to have would be umbrellas and robes! My only suggestion is that the information on accessing the door code could be in a more intuitive place. It was in "Driving Directions" - as I was told in an email long ago - but after getting up at 3:30 a.m. and two flights this was not in my memory bank. In the dark and in the rain at the front door, we were baffled. We knew where the building was already and used Uber to get there so never thought to look in "Driving Directions." And really, who uses driving directions anymore anyway?! Anyway, great place to stay and we have already recommended to others. We are already quite familiar with the area as we own a house in the neighborhood. Eastern Market is a wonderful place to get excellent quality meats, seafood, cheeses and produce. The restaurants on 8th Street are some of our favorites.
