Thank you Giancarlo and Patrizia for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home!
This is perfect for two couples or a family. Spacious rooms make this a comfortable home. 2 bedrooms and baths separated by an eat in kitchen. There is also a living room. Which we dubbed our card playing room.
Beautiful landscape views. Fabulous restaurants and bakeries for our morning pastry run.
This is a very walkable village. Turn right outside the front door and made our way down to the elevator which took us to the main piazza. More restaurants.
Friday is public market. Fruits, vegetables, meats and seafood. Tablecloths, shoes, clothing, pot and pans.... etc.
Overall we felt transported in time. A real treat.
The apartment had few idiosyncrasies which were easily remedied. Tiny clothes washer, but we made do. No clothes dryer.... but, a unique clothesline. This did not pose a problem for us. We all rather enjoyed our line dried clothes. No shrinkage which is a good thing after all the fabulous food we’ve been eating....
A tiny coffee pot made just one cup at a time. No dishwasher, but we didn’t cook, so the few cups and dishes were not an issue to wash by hand.
If we happen to venture back to this part of beautiful Italy, we would not hesitate to rebook this apartment.
thanks Janet for your and your appreciation. You have been perfect guests: two nice couples available and able to appreciate both the apartment and enjoy the territory in its entirety, for its history, its foods and wines, for the people. My wife and I, Patricia, have established a friendly relationship with you and would definitely be very pleased to have you guests again if you return to Tuscany, and maybe ... you can enjoy the new appliances that we will probably install during the year, like the dryer that would seem the most useful!
Very unique. A real cultural experience.
The apartment was well equipped and clean. We ate out for most of our meals as getting groceries and bringing them back to our apartment was somewhat complicated as parking was quite a distance from our accommodation. Be prepared to do lots of walking but in a very safe community. Master bedroom was windowless. Other bedroom overlooked main traffic area and was quite noisy. Owners very pleasant and helpful.
Wonderful Apartment in Beautiful City
Our family of five (me, my wife, and three adult children) had a very nice stay at Giancarlo's apartment in this charming hill top city. After several days in Venice and Florence, it was nice to get away from the crowds and see Colle as well as late day side trips to Monteregionni and San Gimignano (go after 5:00PM when crowds diminish). We also had a really good dinner at Le Grazie, which Giancarlo recommended.
Giancarlo was a very good host, who picked us up at parking lot and guided us to drop-off suitcases about 50 yards from apartment. Apartment was clean and fully furnished, with spectacular views of countryside. Be sure to get information on how to run the hot water in the en-suite bathroom (otherwise, cold showers will really wake you up).
The apartment was spacious and comfortable, and we strongly recommend it.

"My wife & I spent two lovely weeks of holiday at this flat between 25April and 9 May 2009. Both of us are experienced travellers and we feel that this was the best place ever we stayed in so far. The flat is so inviting, pleasant, spacious, and clean, elegantly furnished and contained all the requirements to make it like home from home.
Gian Carlo & Patrzia Poli are very friendly, helpful, kind and generous couple so is their son Michael.
The historic part of Colle di Val where the flat is located is beautiful, the transport links down town are very good and the people are very friendly.
The slight occasional noise never spoiled our stay.
We loved everything about this place and will stay there again next year, maybe for a longer period."

"This is a very clean and comfortable apartment in the historic part of town. At times the streets and squares were lively with music festivals and at other times it was very peaceful. We appreciated the views and sunshine gained from the balcony. This town has become our favourite holiday destination in Italy!"
