Spacious and Convenient Location

  • 5 of 5

This tri-level apartment features up-to-date decor, a terrace which is perfect for breezy evenings or breakfast, and a washing machine/dryer (perfect for those longer trips). Myriam even provided us with laundry detergent! She was flexible when it came to check-in/check-out. Only one bathroom, but the toilet is separate from the shower allowing for you to use the toilet even if someone is showering. The popular Saturday market is pretty much right outside the front door. The only thing I would change is probably the addition of A/C. There are 2 fans in the apartment, but it can still get pretty warm even at night. I left the window open the first night but a lady in the neighborhood was yelling maniacally around midnight which made it difficult to fall asleep. Myriam was super nice and helpful. Great stay! Bring your own shower gel/shampoo/toiletries though.

Very cute apartment in Apt

  • 5 of 5

So, first off, my kids (13 and 16) decided that they LOVED this place immediately. It is a very quirky layout and they were super excited about it. The apartment is cute and very comfortable. In June, the upstairs room (with the view) was too warm to fully use - even first thing in the morning, the sun was already shining into it, and it made it uncomfortable. That said, the rest of the apartment is super comfortable, so we really didn't miss going up to the top. The apartment is in the heart of centre ville and the little streets are fun to explore. The owner is very friendly and helpful and is happy to provide tourist information. She created a great book of popular destinations with pictures, and it provides a good overview of options. Apt is a good center point for exploring the area, but it is a bit far from the beach, Arles, Avignon. If I were to come back here, I would come over the weekend and enjoy the market, then cook a bunch of fresh dishes and stick close to Apt.

Good Base for Exploring

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here - two couples - for a week in September 2014 and enjoyed our stay.

The town of Apt is a good base for exploring the villages of the Provence / Luberon area including Roussillon, Gordes, Menerbes and Bonnieux and is only about an hour from the autoroutes and Avignon.

The town has all the standard amenities - shopping, restaurants and markets. It is an old town so most of the streets are not suitable for vehicles. For drivers, park beside the river adjacent to the D900 or the market square to the east of town. Note the warnings for flooding during heavy rain or cars being towed for the market so that there are no surprises.

The apartment is located in the center of Apt, a block away from Ste Anne's Cathedral, about five minutes away from the parking areas, and consists of the upper floors in an old building.

It is quite difficult to imagine the layout from the photographs so this may help. The apartment is accessed by a narrow staircase and the main level is about fifty stairs from the street level. The main level contains the kitchen and living area, one bedroom and loft, toilet and shower / laundry room.

The kitchen is well equipped with all the modern conveniences and a table and chairs for dining. The living area is small with few chairs but has TV and Wi-Fi connections. The TV sound did not work while we were there but that was not an issue for us since we were not watching any TV. The Wi-Fi connection was reliable and we used it with an Ipad for email etc.

On the same level is the first bedroom with a double bed. This also is the access to a small loft with a small bed. This would be suitable for a couple with a young child.

The toilet is a separate WC, and the shower and laundry facilities share the same room.

On the next upper level (another dozen or so stairs) is a loft which overlooks the kitchen / living area. This has twin beds and a low beam. You will at some time (guaranteed) bang your head on the beam.

On the next upper level is an enclosed rooftop loft (another ten or so steps) with a table and a few chairs and a pleasant view over the rooftops of Apt.

The apartment was clean and many basic items were provided - salt and pepper, dish soap, garbage bags, laundry detergent - and stores were within walking distance.

The apartment is well run and the owner is flexible and personable and available if you have any questions or need assistance. We would recommend this property to others.

Très bel appartement

  • 5 of 5
