About the property

Large private treed waterfront property ideal for family watersport vacations

This is a new 2700 sq ft two-story home including a 900 sq ft walkout basement on a large private treed property. The house is quite distant from the road allowing for a setting that is peaceful and quiet. Our location is very photogenic and guests usually capture many memorable photographs in the gardens and the grounds.

On the main level you will find a 3-pc bath and a master bedroom (King). The kitchen, with a dishwasher and all the amenities, dining and living areas are open, spacious and very bright with a large Rumford wood-burning fireplace. From the living area, there is a large deck overlooking the lake with a new barbecue and a comfy screened-in side porch where you can enjoy the evenings, if the weather or bugs are bad. Wifi and cable TV available.

Upstairs, there is a 3-pc bath and two bedrooms (Queen/Double, Queen). The large loft area contains a flat-screen TV/Entertainment Centre (plus Wii Game Console) with leather sectional and lazyboy recliner. In the finished lower level, you'll find 2 more bedrooms (Double/Single bunks, Queen) and another 3-pc bath. A ping-pong table is set up in the open area, with a view of the gardens and lake. From here, you will step outdoors into the gardens on the way to your private beach. Have an evening wiener roast or just relax by the fire pit at the water's edge on pebbles and sand. Firewood is provided in a new wood shed for your convenience. There are two mooring buoys for two boats and a 30 ft long dock to accommodate longer boats. A peddle boat and 2 kayaks with paddles are provided.

A custom timber-frame picnic shelter complete with custom-built picnic table has its own propane barbeque and cook stove and provides another sheltered area amongst the trees for private dining and entertaining. Next to the picnic shelter, there is a full-service RV pad available for booking upon request.

During those hot summer days, you'll enjoy the air-conditioning along with other features like ping pong. A very short walk will take you to the corner store, a hiking trail across the street and the Elementary School playground.

The pebble beach and the water clarity make it a great place for all the water sports like swimming, snorkeling, boating, fishing, wake boarding, water skiing, sailing, etc.

You will be staying at one of the best locations on Shuswap Lake close to many amenities and great natural scenery. If you like water sports, this is the place for you. Thousands of people visit our area of the lake in the summer.Water Sking, wake boarding, tubing, paddle boarding, swimming, sailing and fishing all take place right off our beach.

If you are a golfer Talking Rock Golf course (18 Holes ) is 20 minutes away. Anglemont Golf Course (9 holes) is 15 minutes down the road.

We are close to the Adams River which is famous for its Fall Sockeye salmon run and Crowfoot Mountain is revered as a quality snowmobile destination in winter and offroad area in the summer for motorcycles and ATVs.

Laidback lakeside living for fabulous family fun!

Beautiful location and well equipped home. Ideally laid out for large family get togethers. We enjoyed the fire pit in the evening. During the day it was easy to watch the children from different locations while they were swimming, jumping off the dock etc. Bring your own life jackets. Everything else we needed was very well supplied. We had a great holiday.

Wonderful! Well equipped home away from home!

Doug and Claudia's home on the water was so great for our family reunion. We are repeat visitors and the familiarity made for an extremely comfortable stay. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could want, and more (a food processor for making fresh salsa .. daily!). The firepit on the beach (which we were unable to use this time due to a burn ban), the water toys (2 kayaks, a pedal boat), the ping pong downstairs, an extra 'beverage' fridge just inside the walkout entry, all the deck chairs you could need, it's all there. Location is ideal: the convenience store is a few steps down the road (fresh baked cheese buns daily!), and there's an ice cream shop across the road! A few issues arose during our stay and both Doug and Claudia were right on top of them all. Highly recommend!

Excellent and Enjoyable Cabin

Our multi-generation family enjoyed our week at this lovely lake front cabin on a large property. There was plenty of room for the 11 of us and safe for young children. Good time was had by all.

A piece of heaven

We would definitely recommend this beautiful home and property. Big enough to find a "quiet spot" yet open for family fun. Perfect! Owners are great to deal with and genuinely eager to please. We will go back again.

Fabulously comfortable cottage on the beach

We stayed at Doug's cottage for five nights in early September. The weather was mediocre - really the only part of the stay that was that way! The cottage was a joy to stay in, with plenty of room for our group of seven and extremely well equipped and supplied. It is a pleasing mixture of informal cottage and luxurious mansion, where you feel relaxed but well tended to at the same time. It was clean, everything worked and Doug followed up routinely during our stay to make sure we were as comfortable as could be. One day, we would love to return and we would, without hesitation, recommend both the cottage and the area as a vacation destination.

The location is fabulous, right on the beach and overlooking the mountains, and although it is technically on the main feeder highway into the area it is actually quite set back from the highway so there was no highway noise. It is a short walk from a store that stocks the basic essentials, and only 5 minutes' drive from a good supermarket, drug store and other shops. The deck was fabulous in the morning sunshine, and the fire pit on the beach a joy in the evenings.

We booked the house at short notice, which caused a little grief with the VRBO system. For some reason the system broke the invoice into three segments and the repeated charges on our credit card triggered a security alert on the card and froze it. This was easily addressed but could have been a nuisance had we been travelling at the time. This is no reflection on Doug however - just a word of warning on the VRBO system (it's the first time this has happened to us, who use the system quite routinely).

Beautiful property ideally located.

We had a lovely stay in this spacious home. We had an extended family vacation with all ages. There was room for everyone to have there own space while the common areas fit us all. The beach is great and we all had fun diving off the dock and using the water toys at the property. I would highly recommend this property.
