Lovely property, very friendly and helpful owners.

The property is well positioned, quiet and has every amenity you could need. Sixt is a small village with limited facilities but has all that you need. Samoens is very close, is a great village/town to visit and provides access to a wide variety of both food, activity and entertainment options. The chalet isn't the easiest to find but it is great, lovely views and a serene location. I would certainly recommend this chalet for a family base to explore the area or for couples to share.

Excellent.

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyed our family holiday with 3 kids in this chalet in lovely Sixt.

- great views of mountains all around the chalet and when dining outside.

- clean and presentable.

- good kitchen, well equipped.

Met and shown around by the owners. Easy to contact the owners if problems though we didnt need to.

No upstairs toilet, have to walk downstairs from bedrooms in the night.

Didnt like the plastic sheet on the big inside table.

We would definitely stay here again.

Un séjour au top

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

Excusez mon Francais mauvais!

We were very lucky to find the chalet free at short notice. Alain and Sylvie are lovely hosts and welcomed us to this beautiful place. The chalet is lovely and would be gorgeous in winter I'm sure. The view is lovely and we enjoyed watching the changing weather and the mountains disappearing from view. The weather can be mixed but it is still beautiful. Sixt itself is lovely and the walks at the Fer a Chevalier are spectacular and easy. Samoens is a lovely little village with a few shops and we loved eating in the restaurant in the square watching the world go by. If you want to paraglide book early just in case the weather changes - we missed out because it was too windy - next time! You can't beat summer in the Alps - the pure air, ice cold water out of the tap straight from the mountain - gorgeous!

Nice house in splendid environment

  • 4 of 5

We loved the view from the terrace. The surroundings of the house are nice and quiet. On the terrace there is a lot of privacy and peace. Unless you are disturbed by the noise of the running water of the river, which is nearby, but that didn't bother us. The house was tidy and the kitchen is very well equipped. The TV and the wifi were fine. The couch is ok, but quite small relative to the large dining table. The beds were smaller than we anticipated. The two "large two persons beds" were only 1.40 x 1.90 metres, which we find quite small. The mattresses were also not so good any more (end of lifetime). And only the one persons beds (80x1.90) had a duvet (dekbed/couette), which was also very thin. The two persons beds had only a blanket. The bedlinen was not provided by the owner, so we had to improvise with the bedlinen we brought ourselves. We have bought a new fitted sheet for the two persons bed and have used the duvets of the one persons beds and also the blanket. We were also glad that we had brought our own pillows.

It was a pity that the sun around the house disappears at around 17.15 PM, because of the mountain in the West nearby (in the village of Sixt the sun shines until 20.30 hours). In combination with the cold river it gets quite cold in the evening. We had very good and warm weather (25-30 degrees) but had to go inside from 20/20.30 hours.

We made very beautiful walks. Especially the walk to Refuge de Sales was unforgettable. So many waterfalls en splendid views. Never seen a scenery so beautiful. And of course the walk in the valley near the Cirque de Fer a Cheval was also very special and beautiful. Moreover, simply a little evening walk in the neighbourhood of the house is fantastic.
