Colorado Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6-10)

Indian Mountain just outside Jefferson, CO enjoy unprecedented peace, quiet and views from the large wrap around deck overlooking meadows, streams, mountains, rock out croppings and the entire west range of the often snow capped Rocky Mountains.

Close to everything but also excluded and private. Visit historic old South Park in Fairplay just ten miles from the entrance. Animal sightings include deer, elk, bear, coyotes, eagles, rabbits, squirrels and birds galore and one mountain lion several years back.

The family or romantic getaway offers modern amenities with the charisma of western/mountain furnishings and a glass front wood stove.

Walls and ceilings done in Colorado Aspen wood, a cow skin on the hardwood floors and large arm chairs that sleep well at any time you desire while overlooking beautiful Aspen and Pine trees with the Rocky Mountains as the back drop.

Sunsets over the snow capped mountains from the wrap around deck or barbecue patio table that will stop you in your tracks.

Practice on the elevated artificial 160 yard par 3 golf hole, throw some horseshoes or play some Bocci ball in the game pit. Fishing in nearby Jefferson Lake is not only a sport but a beautiful mountain lake setting like no other. Be prepared to leave fully re-charged and relaxed like no other vacation.

Relax and reflect

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented John's cabin intending to get away from the city and do some reading and writing. It was exactly what we needed. Sits on a hill which gives you a spectacular view. The chairs in the living room are perfect for curling up to read your book. And writing on the deck is a dream. John was also very friendly about us bringing our dogs, who enjoyed the space as much as we did. I can't wait to bring friends out in the fall when the aspens are blowing up. This may just turn into our new little vacation getaway. The driveway is very steep and very bumpy, but our Subaru Legacy made it up-and-down with little trouble.

Family summer vacation

  • 3 of 5

We arrived at the cabin about 4 pm on Saturday afternoon ready for a nice relaxing hot tub after a 16 hour drive. I had read the drive way as challenging, however there is no way any 2WD vehicle will make it up the hill. So my first feat was parking halfway up the drive way and hauling my family's luggage and a weeks worth of groceries up a very steep hill, at l sat a quarter mile. The hot tub did not work. In fact the hot tub I the photos with the daughter putting the chemicals in is long gone. Now there is a delapitated above ground spa, with no electrical connection. We contacted the owner and his response was oh well. No attempt to get it fixed. There is not cell reception not internet either. When I booked my cabin I had two priorities#1 hot tub #2 pet friendly. The cabin had deferred maintenance including two places on the deck a child could fall through the dry rotted wood. Th scenery is beautiful, the cabin OK but certainly not way you see and expect.

Owner's Response: Please consider all reviews. Timely communication to address any issues upon arrival is appreciated. Hot tub is an upgrade, it has electrical and works just fine. Cell service is available for most all major cell service providers including hot spot connectivity for the internet. Driveway is rough and requires experienced drivers, 1 out of every 50 drivers may be challenged. I appreciate all my renters and would attempt to resolve any issue encountered that is possible to be resolved. References are available upon request. Quiet, secluded and views to die for of the snow capped rocky mountain western slopes await your arrival. Renter in the cabin today (now, 10/14/15) sent me a text upon arrival that reads "This place is amazing! Thanks again." Thank you Joe for your comments.

Spectacular, remote get-away

  • 5 of 5

This is truly a spectacular place to experience the mountains, woods, and vistas of Colorado. What an amazing view from the property. It was an adventure to get there. The house is beautifully decorated and furnished. A highlight was watching a sunrise from nearby rock outcroppings, hearing the coyotes howling. Sheer splendor!

A word or warning about the driveway. We did not have 4 wheel drive, and we feared for our car going up the driveway. Perhaps the recent rains has made it a little worse. We only drove up once, and from then on parked halfway up as we couldn't risk damaging our car or getting stranded in such a remote location. There are some major gullies/ditches and a 4 wheel drive vehicle should be considered a must!

The only other minor point of discrepancy we found in the description was the distance to Breckinridge. It is listed as being 30 min away. Maybe there is a short cut we didn't know about but it took us at least an hour to get there. It takes 20 minutes just to get out to the main road...

But all in all it was a great experience, and a fantastic opportunity to experience beautiful Colorado.

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in this cabin was wonderful! If you are looking for the quintessential Colorado experience, this is the place. The cabin itself is lovely and the property has everything you will need. The kids and adults had a blast driving golf balls, rock climbing, hiking, relaxing in the hot tub and generally just soaking in the incredible scenery. It was better than we ever expected and I would highly recommend this cabin for a spectacular Colorado vacation. Thank you, John. We hope to come back every summer.

What a great time for my family to spend a few days at this wonderful cabin. The cabin has all that you will need ... and more. Had a blast with the golf. The jacuzzi was very relaxing and enjoyed by all. Enjoyable, relaxing and wonderful views. Highly recommended.

Exceptional Views and Solitude

  • 5 of 5

My family and I spent the week at this cabin, and we had a truely memorable time. The views are breathtaking. The cabin sits up high on a hill, and that adds to the views and the solitude. Its great for wanting to get away from all. The cabin is relatively close to most everything to visit. Fairplay is close by and offers most everything you need to stock up. Breckenridge is close by, and Buena Vista is not too far. There is a horseriding ranch near by that is great! The only issues with the cabin is the driveway. Be prepared for a steep and bumpy climb. 4x4 or all wheel drive would work the best. It could be better maintained, but the views at the top are worth it.

Lots of trails and out-croppings around the house for a little adventure. Make sure to wear jeans!

We could not use the fire pit or the charcoal grill due to the burn ban. Definitely not the fault of the owner, just something to consider if coming. Check on the fire conditions! The gas grill worked great the first night, but stopped working the rest of the time. Wasted $20 swapping out a propane tank.

Hot water does not last long in shower so don't linger.

I would definitely recommend this cabin to any one looking for some seclusion and some remarkable views. Just prepare for the drive up the drive.
