This is a huge penthouse apartment just across the road from Wildersmouth Beach and the famous Landmark Theatre and tourist information centre, as well as Tunnels Beaches, a very popular wedding venue.
One of the largest and most high spec self-catering apartments, spread across 2 floors in Ilfracombe. Access to the penthouse is via a lift, once inside, the long entrance hallway leads to a useful storage room—with storage facilities for boards, wetsuits, walking shoes, coats, bags, pushchair, wind-breakers etc.
The open plan living/dining room has the kitchen incorporated making this huge room and a great living space and the heart of the apartment.There are 3 sofas consisting of a 3 seater and two 2-seater brown leather sofas comfortably seat 8. One of the 3 seaters is a reclining sofa which has been added for your comfort.
There is a 42" TV on an entertainment unit with DVD/BLU Ray / Nintendo Wii and accessories. We also have an abundance of dvd's and NINTENDO WII games available for you to use.
The lounge area has a large soft rug, coffee table, toy storage area, books and family games. This room has 6 windows all fitted with venetian blinds making it light and bright.
The surfboard shaped dining table seats 8.
In the kitchen, the units house dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, double oven, hob and extractor. All cooking items are supplied in abundance for you to enjoy your stay and make self catering easier within the apartment.
The top floor boasts 2 bedrooms both with private full ensuite shower rooms.
Bedroom 1 is a large ensuite room with king size bed. This master bedroom has a rich brown and green theme, and has a real sense of space, luxury and comfort. There is also plenty of room to fit travel cots for babies in here should you wish. As an added bonus there is a day bed in this room for use if required.
Bedroom 2 is a good size double ensuite room and has a standard double bed and also a separate single bed. This room has a lovely red and white theme and is another lovely spacious and bright room.
On the ground floor there are a further two bedrooms.
Bedroom 3 with Triple Bunk and additional single bed. Designed to maximise the space available and can easily sleep one adult and two children or 3 to 4 children. The bedroom is set up with 32 inch TV mounted on wall with integrated DVD player. This room has a walk in wardrobe for excellent storage. It also has access door onto the small balcony with a slight sea view. This room is light and airy with windows both side of the room.
On the same floor is bedroom 4, a smaller room which has two small bunk beds. This room is for smaller children and has a separate walk in wardrobe and storage area with toys and books readily available for the children to play with.
The ground floor bedrooms are both decorated with bright splashes of colour and are modern, contemporary and comfortable rooms.
The family bathroom has a double shower and a separate bath with shower over also. This is decorated in a nautical theme and is a large spacious area.
The whole apartment on both floors has under floor heating with thermostats in each room to achieve just the right ambient temperature to make your stay comfortable.
There is a private parking space for 1 car on site to the front of the building and a permit can be applied for through the local council or tourist information centre to park a 2nd car in the car park opposite or other nearby car parks at the cost of around £40.00 for the week. This can be applied for in advance of your holiday and information for this will be provided.
The property is suitable for children of all ages and is also suitable for our less able guests. With level access from the car park area to the lift then taking you up to the penthouse. We have ample amount of books, games, toys, and some for the adults too. We have 2 Travel Cots and 2 high chairs available for your use as well as stair gates to make your stay even easier, and lighter when travelling !!
Although the apartment is at the rear of the property and has no "direct" sea view, some rooms have partial sea views and it is located just over the road from the famous Landmark Theatre and the seafront promenade , Wildersmouth Beach , making this a great location for your holiday. We have several repeat guests who love this place for its size, comfort and location. It makes such a convenient base to explore the lovely abundance of restaurants. shops and beaches and Harbour life in and around Ilfracombe. Exmoor, Woolacombe , Combe Martin , Westward Hoe, Mortehoe, Croyde, Saunton and Braughton to name a few, are all just a few miles away.
We also have many costal paths and walks to be explored. The Famous Damien Hurst statue "Verity" standing proud down at the harbour along side The Quay tea room. The harbour also has many other activities going on including daily fishing trips, the sea safari is a MUST for anyone that loves the water and fast boats ! Or there is the Ilfracombe Princess who offer daily trips out and is a little slower!! If you're really lucky you might get too see the dolphins and seals. !! There are also trips available over to "LUNDY ISLAND". There is also Ilfracombe aquarium with a tea room/cafe. We also highly recommend hiring bikes from Fremington and cycling the "Tarka Trail" something we do at least twice a year!!
Other places of interest in Ilfracombe are The Landmark theatre, Ilfracombe Museum, Tunnels Beaches, Capstone Parade, Bicclescombe Park , Cinema, High street with lots of victorian history, pubs, restaurants , coffee shops and shops. In the apartment once you arrive there is an abundance of local information with everything possible to see and do.
