Waimea is the perfect town. No, really, it is. It's country, yet cosmopolitan, located smack-dab in the middle of one of the largest privately owned cattle ranches anywhere, home to the headquarters of W.M. Keck Observatory, the most scientifically productive telescopes in the world, filled to overflowing with luscious, farm fresh produce (and farmer's markets) that supply the farm-to-table restaurants Merriman's, Red Water Cafe, Village Burger to name just a few, add to that the top-notch cultural hub of the Kahilu Theatre and don't forget that everything is within walking distance, what more could you possibly ask for?

With Aloha, Zoe and Scott
Hi! Thanks for stopping by.
We have lived on the Big Island for 12+ years. We love the outdoor lifestyle, hiking, swimming, kayaking & snorkeling as often as we can. In our humble opinion, Kamuela is an absolute gem of a town, the very best place on the Big Island to live. We love the central location for ease of access to both sides of this amazing place, and can't wait to share some of the greatest insider tips with you!
The suite is beautiful! Brand new and so many thoughtful touches. Beautiful finishings throughout. Loved having two bathrooms for our family of 4, as well as a washer and dryer to use after we we caught in a mid-day shower. The location is great just 1-3 minutes to all of the shops & restaurants in Waimea. We visited two farmers markets on Saturday and the kitchenette was prefect for preparing our dinner and breakfast. The king bed was so comfortable with nice linens and so was the sofabed. The location was quiet and Zoe and Scott were easy to reach by text on our day of arrival and departure. The directions to the home and to access the suite were easy to follow. We didn't need to contact them at all during our stay as the suite had everything we could have asked for! Highly recommend this suite for those coming to explore this part of the Big Island.
Very well structured one bedroom apartment has a bedroom separate from the living room and kitchen area with its own bathroom in addition to the bathroom adjacent to the living room. The apartment has everything one may need for a pleasant vacation, including beach chairs, snorkeling gear and much more. The apartment is located minutes away from Waimea Nature Trail along the Waikoloa Stream, perfect for walking or jogging. Evenings are pleasantly cool especially after a day at the beach. Nearby are plenty of good restaurants.
We had a wonderful time. Lovely place. Zoe and Scott are very welcoming and friendly hosts. Thanks so much Zoe & Scott!
It was perfect for us. Zoe greeted us and then gave us privacy. The property was clean, well kept, and well equipped. The king sized bed was very comfortable. The binder of places to visit and eat was helpful. The excellent selection of books was a bonus. Beautiful area!
The feeling of being at Ginger Hale is so very nice.
Proximity to wonderful viewing just beyond the property is a real plus. Walking on Kahawai (street) to the stream trail to the farmer's market or to Waimea Coffee Company is excellent. Looking around inside Waimea General Store is fun. The surrounding hills (puu(s)) are beautiful. Hokuula (Buster Brown) is nearby as are waterfalls. The neighboring goat greeted us daily.
Specific items within the Hale enjoyed and appreciated: How clean everything is. Comfortable bed. Well equipped kitchen. Washer/dryer in unit. Second bathroom. Notebook of suggestions. Atlas.
Zoe is a pleasure. Loved our conversations.
Intend to return and stay longer.
Zoe and Scott are great hosts, interesting, and laid back, as is Buddy, their dog. The apartment is perfect for one or two people. The location is great for town access or several great beaches, quiet on a semi-rural one lane road. Highly recommended.
We spent the last 2 days of our 11-day tour of the Big island at Zoe and Scott's Ginger Garden Hale. We were looking for a quiet, well-appointed spot to use as a base to explore Waimea and its surroundings, and this place delivered. Outstanding hosts and a lovely, private place to unwind. Recommended!
